  • There are lots of these reality/drama murder shows out right now, Some are better than others, some just seem to repeat the same opening statement as filler - and that is where I lose interest. Homicide City doesn't do that extensively, the acting in the drama part is quite good, the reality part not overdone. My big concern is there are only 6 episodes, I certainly hope there are more to come.

I love this show. It shows how hard detectives work to solve senseless and brutal crimes.
  • This show is my style of True Crime. I prefer this "version" of a reconstructed true story of a murder investigation to other shows like "Snapped", for example. It has an excellent narrator - one of the best I've ever heard - and takes a more methodical / procedural approach with describing the investigations' developments, twists and turns. It's refreshing and fascinating. The details included come directly from the (mostly now-retired) cops that worked the real life cases. This adds to the appeal and makes it feel even more authentic. Summary: Excellent Non-Fiction TV.
  • Too bad you can't hear the victims trying to tell their story because of the ridiculously loud and annoying background noise/music
  • The first episode I saw looked promising, mainly because the show producers thankfully did not succumb to cheap tactics as seen in most ID productions these days. However, the stories offer mediocre writing, omitting important details and sequiturs, and are presented in painstakingly slow mode, featuring mostly unengaging actors. All in all - yawn to creativity.
