Sara Aoyama's life takes an unexpected turn when someone, who looks just like her, commits suicide at a train station.

The car which Sara was riding in is suddenly attacked. The person she was riding the car with is instantly shot dead before her eyes. As she tries to reconfigure the situation she's left in, other individuals mysteriously surrounding her also try to get Sara to open up about the entire situation, due to misunderstandings and confusion.

Sara realizes that there are clones of herself, and that someone is out to kill her and the clones. Meanwhile, she somehow tries to get hold of the 7.5 million yen that was stolen from her, so that she could live with her daughter and younger brother-in-law. Alongside her efforts to achieve this, she finds out that the body she buried had been dug up, which may lead to a further dilemma for Sara.

Sara gets into a life threatening scuffle with Elena who also has the same face as her. When she realizes that Sara isn't the person she thought she was, Elena asks her in an interrogating way as regards to her real identity, while pointing a knife at Sara. Meanwhile, Sara grabs a steel pole to defend herself against Elena. In panic, Elena rushes off from the scene, as information regarding this reach the police.

Sara is left confused after realizing that the room that Elena asked her to come to, is one of the murdered girl's room. Sara then wonders what kind of connection Elena had with the victim. Meanwhile, when she is forced to explain why she went to the victim's house, she all of a sudden comes out to say that she's going to quit her detective job. This very night, she experiences a strange dream, in which her hands and feet are being tied down with various mechanical objects which are fixed on to her. Or is this just a dream.

Elena finally begins to show her interest for Sara. When the two of them sit at a table in a restaurant, Elena feels that this is a heart-warming kind of lifestyle she has never had experienced. Meanwhile, Sara tries to uncover the kind of environment that Elena grew up in. Sara eventually tries to convince her to abstain from committing anymore murders, however, Elena tells her that she will kill her if she doesn't tell her the whereabouts of the other clones by midnight.

Sara's daughter intentionally gets taken away by Elena. However, it turns out that she just wanted to simply speak to Elena's daughter. Meanwhile, Sara's daughter suddenly comes out of the blue, that both Elena and Sara's identities are real. Immediately after this, Sara's daughter is involved in a serious traffic accident.

As the story enters its ultimate climax, Sara heads to a chamber to rescue a kidnapped victim. However, she gets caught up by a serious group out to get the clones. In the meantime, when a member of the group receives valuable information, an order immediately goes out to somehow take Sara out of the picture.
