Streetcat Bob is a charming new animated series, aimed at preschool children and their mums, dads, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grans and grandads. In fact, anyone who remains a child at heart.
Streetcat Bob is inspired by the amazing, real-life story of a ginger stray of the same name. Bob was rescued by busker and Big Issue seller James Bowen in 2007 when he found him injured. Since then the pair have been inseparable, appearing first on the streets of London, then as the subjects of a series of books about their exploits. Now Bob is taking centre stage in his own animated series.
Streetcat Bob doesn't have a typical life like other cats. He has way more fun! How many cats do you know have ridden on the back of a bike or taken a red bus into London town?
Bob's done all those things - and more. He's different to other cats in other ways too. He wears a scarf and thinks himself an adventurer or superhero. And with a natural instinct to help others, Bob is a symbol of accepting differences, treasuring friendship, and inspiring curiosity about the world around him.
He lives in Bowen Park with a bunch of animal friends, who make up his mismatched family. There's Scarlet the Fox, Buzz the Bee, Spike the Hedgehog, brother and sister Squirrels Nutty & Crunch, and Dave the Pigeon.
Bowen Park is a great place to explore. It's hidden away from the noise and bright lights of the busy city and Bob and the gang have loads of fun finding adventure and getting up to the odd bit of mischief. No two days are ever the same.
