This edition follows a group of children from Uplands Primary School as they prepare to take the 11 plus selection test. Joanita has had extra tuition, Summer is one of the few pupils not to have done so.

Part two follows daily life at two secondary schools. Townley Grammar is judged to be one of the best schools in the country, two miles down the road Erith School needs to pick itself up following a critical report.

In the third and final part of the series, pupils at Erith School and Townley Grammar prepare to face their mock GCSE examinations.
