  • I have started watching Spanish movies and series lately and I have to admit they are amazing. Movies like "The Invisible Guest" and "Mirage" and series such as "Elite" and "La Casa de Papel" were great so seeing Maria Pedraza and Jaime Lorente from both "La Casa de Papel" and "Elite" in this movie immediately made it a "must watch" for me.

At first the story seemed interesting and the characters as well, and knowing from the plot that there is a secret to be revealed I was on the edge of my seat.

Once the secret was revealed, it felt like it under-delivered I didn't get the shock sense and in my opinion it was not such a big deal that the whole plot of the money would be based on it.

The ending felt realistic in a way, but the movie had a bland feeling to it, even the great acting couldn't save it.
  • It felt a bit underdelivered but still worth a watch.

It makes you think (as a student yourself), where will I be in a couple of years and how will my life turn out?

At first it seems the ''hidden secret'' is not such a big thing but the end it felt realistic and impactful.
  • Liked the actors from other Netflix shows, but this is complete garbage. Don't waste your time.
  • I think this movie is quite underrated. Maybe because people watch it for Jaime and María and expext the same type of vibe as in Elite or La casa de papel.

This is just an ordinary story of four friends. One day and one night in Madrid. It's all about the feelings, conversations, dreams and life choices. It's simple, it's well performed and it's definitely worth a watch.

The actors are so bad and the movie bored, i think they don't know that it was a real movie.
  • Your life can change in just 1 minute! The movie is not boring, but don't have action, is a calm movie...

Honetsly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. And I'm a really easy person to please but that was not it. I would like it more if there was some short of backround information about this people and less sex.

Strong performances from the four main characters, although it seems to have been shot on a limited budget. I spent the first hour just wondering if I was watching a slice-of-life piece, but by the end, I realized that there were clues that helped the ending make sense. The fever pitch of emotion near the end takes its roots in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "Boys in the Band." The perils of playing "Truth." The ending is peaceful and it makes sense, drawing on everything leading up to it. But I longed for "heart" over "head."

It is a great movie. Meaning and hidden messages of this movie are great and very relatable to real life. However, you won't probably get most of them if you are not a spanish speaker.

An average plot written with a somehow slow beginning turns into a surprisingly good story with details to remember and ideas that stay with the viewer aferwards. The fantastic performances by the four protagonists is the main asset of the movie. Still, the fact that 3 out of 4 of them played in Casa de Papel and Elite might draw the wrong fanbase; this one is nothing like any of them so, if you expect something like this, be prepared.
  • The plotline left a little to be desired from your stray audiences from other shows, but if treated as is, with no expectation, it's quite good. I keep thinking about this movie.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Not sure why this film has a lower-than-deserved rating here. I suspect it's because it does not have a formulaic "feel good" ending, nor does it have that cliched "commercial blockbuster film" unrealistic gloss. It delivers exactly what the premise is - the story of a particular day in four friends' lives, the day before they are set to vacate the apartment they have shared for 8 years. 3 of the friends are the "official" flatmates, and the 4th is the long time girlfriend of one of the male characters, who effectively becomes part of a quartet by staying over so often.

As they launch into a party to toast their future lives and careers, a casual game of "which 2 of the 3 others would each friend choose to take to a deserted island", unravels the good cheer and merriment to reveal years of buried resentments, frustrations and secrets.

The performances are searing real - so much so that for several stretches, I felt really uncomfortable observing what seemed to be very private disagreements and quarrels between very real characters. But neither could I look away, the emotional vortex the characters plunge into had me hooked with an irresistible fascination. Of the 4 actors, Pol Monen was IMO the best - the way he portrays the pain, insecurity and anger of Eze's character was absolutely fantastic. His dialogues when Eze is confronting his friends, were imbued with an angst and bitterness which felt so very authentic. Andrea Ros was excellent as well, with Jaime Lorente & Maria Pedraza also very competently portraying their roles.

I feel the latter 2 stars having achieved fame in Elite and Money Heist also probably gave some viewers an unrealistic expectation of what *this* film was about. Maybe some of the ratings reflect the viewer angst at having expected something else, rather than an honest evaluation of what this little gem of a film actually brings to the table.

The denouement of the film was also realistic, albeit bittersweet. We see two of the most sympathetic characters tentatively forging a connection again, and hear (through their reminiscing), of the success and happiness another of the characters seems to have achieved. The only thing I would have probably liked to see slightly different was to have had a more positive ending for one of the aforementioned 2 characters, some more success in the field they were passionate about. OTOH, the film ends with that hope for another day, that perhaps there is a chance for that creativity to blossom in days not too far removed. All in all, a thought provoking, superbly acted film, and one which is very well worth a watch.
  • I found this a few days ago on Netflix as I was looking for movies to practice my Spanish. I liked it immediately, the cultural aspect - the way Spaniards interact vs Canadians or Americans/English. I lived in Hollywood for years and used to help some of my friends (some are famous actors) prepare for their roles. So I know how to spot a good actor - and this little movie is full of them. It develops slowly compared to Manic and predictable yet empty Hollywood movies, but that is what I like to see because it reflects reality. The twist was quite shocking to me in a good way - it really surprised me. I loved the drunk arguments which reminded me of a movie I saw long ago with my friend's grandmother playing a wife of a professor I think (Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf I think is the name). I loved it and I watched it several times actually (which I normally do only with Almadovar's movies). I have never seen any of these actors before. Very refreshing especially if you are fed up with boring Hollywood manic predictable sameness. Music was not bad but at at times too revealing of what's to come next. And I found a couple of long discussions a bit predictable and over the top - but overall I recommend it - and I showed some bits to couple of friends and they wanted to watch it (but we had to go) - I am definitely going to watch it again. Reminds me of my student life in London and of many good and funny things I have done. I like how the approach to the story is as different to predictable Will and Grace nonsense as possible. Very Spanish/European - refreshingly very different from toxic mania of Hollywood.

I was surprised by this gem. If you're used to watch series where every other scene has a winner and a loser, then this is not the movie for you; probably these were the bad reviewers.

First of all, the acting is amazing. And I think it's beautiful how the story slowly unravels. It's about young people having dreams and ambitions, about truth, deceit, love and friendship. It made me think of the time my friends and I graduated from university being full of dreams about the future and what we all would become. The whole setting made me think this could easily be a theatre play.
  • The acting is INCREDIBLE! Almost felt uncomfortable most of the movie because it felt like I was peeping in on private moments. As for the plot... a 5/10 tops.
