Petr, a writer, owns an agency providing alibis for clients' lies. His double life crumbles when his wife seeks an alibi, forcing him to confront his issues while helping others.

Petr is not only a successful writer but also is the owner of the agency called Alibi - that creates alibis for the clients who need to hide their lies and failures. His second business is hidden, so he himself has a double life. But his attitude to lies changes when his own wife appears at the agency asking for an alibi. From this moment on, he will solve not only his client's problems, but his own. Unfortunately, he'll be able to help everyone but himself.

Even though he's one of Moscow's most successful screenwriters, Pyotr has a secret sideline, creating alibis for people with things to hide. From infidelity and sexual perversion to tax evasion and fraud, he and his team go to extraordinary lengths to save marriages, reputations and political careers, keeping some of their shadier clients out of jail. Pyotr finds it as creative as his writing career. Happily married, with a loving wife and son, his world suddenly falls apart when his own spouse shows up wanting an alibi for cheating on him and he discovers that his son has a secret life of his own. With things veering out of control and contracted to write an adaptation of Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment", he finds his life beginning to merge with that of the great author and turns to him ever more often for inspiration and guidance. For all the crimes that he, himself, has enabled, perhaps his own punishment is only just beginning.—Beta Film
