It was very difficult to find extras in the city where the film was shot. Therefore, Emin Alper, the director of the film, took on the role of a villager himself.
The film did not get support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture. One of the director's friend, who is a producer in Germany, gave financial support and the film was shot and nominated for the Golden Bear in Germany.
