Peregrine gets a lesson in all things culinary when celebrated head chef at Samuel's ex-mother-in-law's international cookery school, Graham King, is murdered.

A chef is found dead at a culinary school run by Samuel's ex-sister-in-law. The investigation into the chef's murder leads to chefs that can't cook, questions about the car crash that killed Samuel's wife, and an injured Chief Inspector Sparrow.

Peregrine gets a lesson in all things culinary when celebrated head chef at Samuel's ex-mother-in-law's international cookery school, Graham King, is murdered. With Geraldine Hakewell as Peregrine Fisher, Joel Jackson as Detective James Steed, Catherine McClements as Birdie Birnside, Toby Truslove as Samuel Birnside, Louisa Mignone as Violetta Fellini, Greg Stone as Chief Inspector Sparrow and Katie Robertson as Constable Fleur Connor.

Graham King, celebrated head chef at the international cookery school co-owned by Samuel's ex-mother-in-law-Lucy Harrington-, is murdered with a meat cleaver, missing from one of the -mostly Chinese- students. Peregrine, who can't cook an egg, goes undercover in the absolute beginners course, to help detective James Steed make sense of various motives among partly incompetent staff and bribing students, even drug trade. The murder strikes again, once failing to kill, and Steed gets caught by false evidence blaming him and his semi-crooked boss, chief inspector Sparrow's reluctance to stand up for him, until offered the recording of his brothel visits by the Adventures Club. In between, Samuel's lover's traumatizing car crash death is seen in true light.—KGF Vissers
