Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour debuted at No. 8 on Nielsen’s overall U.S. streaming ranking for the week of March 11, amassing 677 million minutes viewed for the 169-minute concert film on Disney+.
By Disney+’s own methodology, that translates to more than four million “views,” though you gotta figure there were some viewing parties at play in those first four days, and thus unaccounted-for eyeballs.

Taylor Swift made her chart debut in Nielsen’s streaming rankings, as her concert movie The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) had a strong showing over its first four days of release on Disney+.
The film racked up 677 million minutes of viewing in the United States in the week of March 11-17 (it debuted on Disney+ on March 14), finishing second among movies and eighth among all titles for the week. Disney had previously said that The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) had 4.6 million views (defined as total viewing time divided by running time) worldwide over its first three days; the four days of Nielsen measurement translate to about 3.22 million views of the 3 1/2-hour film.
Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen took the No. 1 overall spot for the week, moving up from third place a week earlier as it improved to 1.86 billion minutes of watch time from 1.21 billion. Millie Bobby Brown...

The twin superheroes are back, and what better way to celebrate The Thundermans Return than to get to know the actors at its center a bit better? Kira Kosarin (Phoebe) and Jack Griffo (Max) stopped by TV Insider’s office, and we had them play “Knock Your Blocks Off” to do just that. Some questions in our Jenga trivia game were very TV-related. For instance, Kosarin, since she’s not single (ruling out Love Island), would want to be on Blown Away as a contestant. “There’s a Netflix show about glass blowers, and I’ve been wanting to learn how to blow glass, so I would want to be on that show and I would want them to teach me how to blow glass,” she explains. For her, the best running gag on TV comes from Community, Abed’s (Danny Pudi) breaking of the fourth wall. “It is a tricky one to do well,...

For the second week in a row, the Millie Bobby Brown-led fantasy “Damsel” was Netflix’s most watched title of the week from March 11-17. In its first full week of availability, the film hit 50.8 million views. The second-most-watched title of the week was also a movie: “Irish Wish,” the Lindsay Lohan rom-com that debuted with 19.5 million views in its first three days of availability.
On the TV side, “The Gentlemen” remained the No. 1 title, reaching 20.1 million views in its first full week of availability after debuting with 12.2 million in its first three days of availability the week before, when it dethroned “Avatar: The Last Airbender” — which took second place again this week with 5.2 million views in its third full week of availability.

Stranger Things claimed the top spot in Nielsen’s streaming rankings for seven of the eight weeks after its fourth season premiered. Or now, eight of nine.
The supernatural thriller ceded the No. 1 ranking for the week of July 18-24 to a very different show: Virgin River, Netflix’s Hallmark-esque romantic drama, led the chart for the week with 2.64 billion minutes of viewing time. That’s the best single week for the series in the two years of Nielsen’s streaming chart; its previous high was 2.11 billion minutes a week after season three premiered last year. Season four of Virgin River debuted July 20.
Stranger Things continued to perform, adding 2.28 billion minutes of watch time to its tally. It now sits at almost 37.8 billion minutes of viewing since the season four premiere May 27.

Netflix is set to shake up the bar and spirits worlds with Drink Masters, a reality series out of Canada to debut on Oct. 28 as competing mixologists infuse and blend their liquid art to create fresh takes on storied cocktails.
Similar to other reality competition shows, 12 contestants from across North America have to complete challenges against a clock, with one person getting their marching orders every episode until an Ultimate Drink Master is crowned. But what can be done with a skillet and stove in Top Chef or Chopped can apparently also be done with a cocktail shaker and a bar top in Drink Masters as bartenders shake, stir and pour elixirs to create madcap cocktails, Marblemedia executive producer Matt Hornburg tells The Hollywood Reporter.
“It’s not just about what’s in the glass, but what appears around the glass as part of that experience.

Netflix’s Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke drama “Firefly Lane” debuted at No. 1 on Nielsen’s list of the Top 10 streaming series for the Week of Feb. 1-Feb. 7.
The 10-episode show starring Heigl and Chalke as lifelong besties, which debuted Feb.3, was watched for more than 1.3 billion minutes in just its first five days, the ratings currency company said Thursday.
Netflix, which strategically releases its own viewership data, declined TheWrap’s request for comment on Nielsen’s reported minutes watch. The streaming service has not yet revealed comparable numbers for “Firefly Lane’s” audience.
In Nielsen’s SVOD originals runnerup slot for the week beginning Feb. 1 was Netflix’s Shonda Rhimes hit “Bridgerton,” which been been hanging out on the chart ever since its Dec. 25, 2020 debut, with 659 million minutes watched, and in third place was Disney+’s “WandaVision,” which launched Episode 5 during that time period, with 589 million.

One of the first-ever shows that I reviewed, over two years ago, was a Netflix original series called Blown Away; a show which shines a light of the often ignored art form of glass blowing. I was super excited that this sector was allowed to be shown to a wider audience to get the recognition it deserves but when the second season was announced there’s no longer the excitement of raising awareness of an undiscovered career (I know one season is not the exposure enough but the sense of unfamiliarity with this art form added to the excitement of the show!) having waited just under two years for a new season – the anticipation high for what new works of art we are going to see. Generally, the show has a collection of glassblowers from all over the world compete against each other, in the hopes to win a support...

For Jonathan Van Ness, best known as the grooming expert within Queer Eye’s Fab Five, the summer of 2019 came with mixed emotions. Seeing the Netflix reality series pick up six more Emmy nominations was, of course, cause for celebration. Just two months earlier, though, the pop culture aficionado said goodbye to HBO’s Game of Thrones, a series he and millions of others had loved—and with it, his Funny or Die short-form series Gay of Thrones—the combination of which was a somber affair.
With Queer Eye, Van Ness saw his life transform overnight, going from a celebrity hairstylist to an international celebrity, working on multiple fronts as a TV personality, author, political activist, and influencer. What some may not realize, though, is that Gay of Thrones was the project that put Van Ness on the map. Coming together five years before Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot, the...

The Keanu Reeves we all know and love, the super-agile, sharply dressed, rather taciturn action hero currently death-dealing his way through John Wick Chapter 3, was born 25 years ago, in the summer movie season of 1994 (yes that’s right…25 years ago!).
Until that point, Reeves had been a pin-up presence in arthouse treasures like River’s Edge and Permanent Record whose stock had risen sharply when he and Alex Winter had their first Excellent Adventure in 1988. After that, it soon became impossible to shake off his image as a loveable perma-stoned surf-jockey, never more than five seconds away from a ‘Woah, duuude.’
Attempts at breaking away from this unwanted mould and tackle more highbrow fare like Little Buddha often led to snide critical derision and more than a few titters, especially at his ‘English’ accent in Bram Stoker’s Dracula – ‘I know whhair the bahstud sleeps, in Carfax Abbehh.’
