The Avengers
(1998)

No one should miss this movie!
I saw the avengers with my brother expecting something roughly fun and enjoyable if not memorable. I got the opposite. This movie has a special place in my heart for being excitingly terrible. I hated this movie so much that I smile when I think of it. It is so much fun just to think about how poor this movie is. It is an amalgam of similar action-hero big-screen cross-overs: it has the Shadow's writing, Mission Impossible's apparent poor editing (just my theory as to why I couldn't get what was going on), and the Saint's terrible execution (that's another gem, there's a scene in that movie where two songs are playing at once, beautiful). The movie had style, but it was just silly, really, really silly. Like the scene where the two guys were walking across the water in those inflatable spheres, or the fact that the enemies were a clan of beanie baby impersonators. FUNNY!!! Maybe I have too much respect for the campy, but I just thought it was a great trip.

Maximum Bob
(1998)

Lots of fun
This show was great, it was beautifully witty and it had a lot of heart. It's a comedy that treads the edge of convention. Each character had an individual and unique impact on the individual stories as well as on each other's way of seeing and doing things. There was a common progression of character development from episode to episode and I was looking forward to seeing how each character would change and adapt, which is why I was so very sad when it was canceled. It didn't run long enough to make it to syndication but hopefully ABC will run the episodes again one summer or something. It was truly an excellent show and one that's worth seeing if you ever get the chance.

Based on an Untrue Story
(1993)

From moron to Mensa, the movie has appeal... to some extent
I got a screening version of this movie for free, don't ask me how, and I watched it. It was awesome! Just completely stupid from the ethnically mismatched names to the obvious and redundant running gags. The entire film is acted so perfectly as Fairchild brilliantly spoofs her own genre of film: the television movie. It has all the classic elements in all their glory, not needing really to draw off much else for comedy since the entire tv film industry is absurd anyway. It's worth watching for free, I'll let you borrow the tape sometime :) Look out for it in the 99 cent rental section and watch it with a big group of people who like that kind of movie.

The Red Green Show
(1991)

This show is wonderful, but soon grows old
It's a funny show, but it follows such a predictable formula and uses the same humor over and over. It's good to watch with friends while eating spicy wings. His inventions and transformations are inspired and simply hilarious. So watch and enjoy.
