This film had a great concept and was well acted. Unfortunately the behavior of the characters became so absurd (and at often times downright immoral) in the second half that it became difficult to root for them anymore. The thing that really did this film in is the ending...which makes zero sense and offers no resolution whatsoever to anything that's going on.

The only similarity between this and the original Bourne trilogy is the music (which is well done). The pacing, writing, and overall logic of the storylines are mediocre at best, and downright dumb at worst. This is a very poor attempt to please Bourne fans.

If you're looking for a storybook ending, this film isn't for you. If you want a look into the life of a father dealing with his worst nightmare, then you'll probably enjoy this.

This isn't a feel good movie, although it does have an optimistic and uplifting ending.

This film is moving, thought provoking, and heartfelt.

This episode is the first that's given any insight into the various mysterious reasons that Rick disappeared. It's a fascinating watch. It also does a great job developing Al's character in a meaningful way.

Banshee is so many things. In the first season is might be tempting to write it off as a pulpy action drama, but that's just the introduction to this fascinating story.

First of all, just to get all of the technicals out of the way: Banshee is basically flawless when it comes to acting, direction, cinematography, and music. I'm not sure a better cast of actors have ever been assembled together within one production before.

The story is about an unnamed man who, after being in prison for 15 years, sets out to settle a massive amount of unfinished business. Antony Starr is an incredible actor, and brings a sense of seriousness, charm, and sympathy to the character that will have you rooting for him despite his questionable choices.

But what sets Banshee apart from other TV shows is how deeply emotional and relatable the characters are, and how deep seated the messages are within the show. I often find myself simply reminiscing about pieces of profound wisdom that various characters drop on the audience through the serious.

Banshee tackles painful, highly relatable topics such as regret, the blurred lines of morality, excruciating guilt over one's past, family abandonment issues, the prison system, the difficulty involved in attempting to become a better person, and what it truly means to change one's life after experiencing a dark past. The amount of times I found myself tearing up throughout this show is downright embarrassing.

Watch this show, and let yourself feel all the important lessons it's trying to teach. And I promise you, at the end you will have tears in your eyes, a smile on your face, and a warm feeling in your gut along with a sense that everything is just a little more "right" in the world.
