As a long time cinema lover, series enjoyer and lover of good story-tellings, this episode was bonkers for me.
Excuse my lingo if I've done any mistake in categorization in my title... It's just an expression for how much this stellar cast, and this genius writers created a magic, very narrow and hard to lead story to begin with....
Black Mirror was and has been one of Netflix's golden baby since the platform took off, but for me the charm was lost somewhere when the company have became a mass production, fabricated industry robot. It affected my view on all series it produced somehow, it could have a relation to how the seasons went on also.
But this episode is resurrection of the show's name an honour for me. USS Calister was such a complex and hard story to begin with, which was done greatly once, now twice! It literally involves all you can ask for. So many ethical questions this episode solo can bring to discussion. From psychologic abuses, to evil being of an individual, to a sole hero figure as I see in Nanette, how one can truly evolve and change as for the better like Jimmi Simpson's character (I forgot to name and won't check it) btw who I love and follow their works since Westworld...
You can see the great actors came back in with joy and the pleasure of acting only, after many of them took off in their respected careers in recent years.
I could feel the enjoyment of Jesse Plemons playing this maniac dude, so gifted yet so easily gets corrupted with power.. and Cristin Milioti playing this character and HER clone which evolves in a different way, and she gets to act in this conversations and dialogues with herself which went through different universes and experiences.
Don't want to blabber anymore, just standing ovation to everyone who has been involved in USS Callister!!! Yeeeeeeeehaw!
