Straight Edge Kegger
(2019)

Fun little DIY punk indie!
So this film has so many great elements.

1. Really Interesting characters: Julio Alexander and Sean Jones were the stand outs here! I can't wait to see what everybody from this movie does next but those two were menacing and hilarious.

2. AMAZING MUSIC (I'm looking up all the bands who were featured in this movie) 3. The concert footage and energy was terrific.

The things that didn't work were: 1. The motivation of the straight edge gang turning murderous wasn't very convincing; it needed one more scene to explain why they would go to this place.

2. The blood and gore weren't very convincing and some of the camera work especially revolving around the deaths seemed a little amateurish. (I mean it could have been lack of time for multiple takes because this looked like a very low budget film but that kind of blocking could have been thought of ahead of time)

Overall this film is definitely worth a watch and I can't wait to see what the director Jason Zink does next when he gets a real budget.

Last Call
(2019)

It breaks your god d*m* heart in a good way.
I rented this film and in retrospect I wished I had bought it. This film kind of broke my heart. In the time of Covid I think we are all very involved with making ourselves happy and maybe not considering the happiness of friends that may be going through a tough time like the characters in this film. Yes this film is about suicide but it's not done in a preachy way....it's done in a very organic creative way that is heavy but not too heavy and really dramatic in a good way. Like in a break out Oscar Indie performance way that might have broken out bigger like a Winter's Bone if it had a bigger budget. I think many of the people associated with this film will be doing bigger things in the future. 5 god d*m* heartbreaking stars. (They won't let me put the expletive)

Ferocious Horror
I really feel this may be on of the most ferocious horror movies of the year. The acting if first rate, the story feels a little familiar in that it's sort of home invasion movie, but like most interesting indies they make it seem new. This movie is terrifying and there is one scene that is going to blow your mind. It's little indie gem that I feel I've unearthed.......definitely recommend!

The Hive
(2014)

Really well done on a budget.
Just discovered this on Amazon Prime. Really well done. Loved the way it unfolded....elevated disease outbreak movie with nice mythology.
