The Amazing World of Gumball
(2011)

Future classic. Criminally under estimated today. Adult viewer.
Bored with the adult cartoon that use sex/profinity/violence etc... because they can, and because it's an easy way to be "funny"?

The amazing world of Gumball (TAWOG) is , for the lack of a better word, Perfect.

It's playing with codes (obviously visually with the 2/3D mix, but also in term of scenarios).

Season 1 is a good starter but it starts to get really funny from season 2 and then improves.

The main reason it did reach a cult status yet is that it was broadcast on a kid network an US target, when it was a European project filled with adult (non sexual) references.

You can already see in reviews that some kids start to realize how many levels there were. My guess is that we need another 10 years (for them to have kids), and a wider distribution, for seeing a revival and reconsideration of this show.

In my case, I discovered it while watching kid programs to learn a language working abroad. Amongst all the programs from cartoons network, this one was the one only i continue watching once back home.

Nothing Lasts Forever
(2022)

Great characters, except one
Great characters. Great conflicting views between the old and new world. The first half is particularly interesting. And the journey of one character, arguably the main one, which including a Uber driver gig, is also extremely interesting to follow.

But the designer/scientist/historian/writer hate so much De Beers that she managed to make them sympathetic. She is completely counterproductive and you end up doubting what she's saying.

I'm not sure if it was deliberate by the production to keep her to weaken the "synthetic" side but her interventions are the only weak points in the documentary.

MotoGP Unlimited
(2022)

Great but missing some key players
Great show for MotoGP fans. Not sure if it's for those who are not, it may lack of drama building and character introductions.

Also some key players did not had much air times, or even worse, were just not there (Zarco is the most obvious example, but. Naka, Brad etc...).

I suspect the production focused on those who lived in Andora for practical reasons. Which would explain why they strangely focused on Rins for example.

I learned and discovered a lot of interesting details and insights watching this. I hope we'll see more riders in the next season.

Pépé le Moko
(1937)

Best french film before WWII
Pepe le Moko is the best french film i've seen (and i've seen many) before WWII. The only one who can compete with it is Guitry. The characters and their relations are wonderful. Worth a pagnol Book. And moreover, the actors are the best who could get at those times The images are "sublime". People who like and are interested in the french colonies would have a wonderful insight of it. Truly interesting to see how colonies was perceived before it ends. Sadely, you've got to be know french quite well to appreciate it. Even tough, you've got to see it. It contains valuable ideas and tricks to make a wonderful movies. A must see for the all movies lovers
