I crushed James Mason from this film. I mean his dark good looks, and that sexy voice. I first saw this movie as a preteen searching for something to watch in the 60s. And oh boy I became hooked! James Mason was phenomenal. His sexy voice, good dark looks, had me glued to the tube. There were other choices for the role of Humbert, but I'm glad he got the role. Shelly Winters, also phenomenal, I hurted when she hurt. I was sad when she died in the film. Sue Lyon? Her debut was magic. Her scenes with Mason was fire! Peter Sellers,to much to speak on except he was great. I kind of liked Marianne Stone role. Quiet and mysterious. All in all, great movie I saved it on my Tubi. I cried when mason died.
