W*A*L*T*E*R
(1984)

Absolutely the worst TV sequel ever! Horrifyingly bad!
In MASH, I remember that, a couple of episodes before Radar went home, he met a kind nurse named Lt. Patty Haven at the air transport hut. They really hit it off, and Radar and Patty planned to meet again after Radar got home (Patty was already going home). Radar was from Ottumwa, Iowa, and Patty was from Lancaster, MO, which is 100 miles away. Absolutely one of the sweetest scenes that I've ever seen on TV ever!

Many episodes before that, a nice Korean man (I don't remember his name) went to Iowa to help run Radar's farm. Very sweet, also. Not long after Radar met Patty, his Uncle Ed died, and he went home to help his mom on the farm. So I have always envisioned Radar going home after the war, working with the Korean man helping Radar's mom run the farm, and eventually Radar and Patty getting married. What a sweet concept for a show! So I was very excited to see the TV show WALTER, thinking that was what the show was going to be about. Boy, was I wrong. Boy, was I disappointed. Talk about a total and complete disaster! Who could have imagined that WALTER would be such a total and complete disaster? No sign of Patty, the Korean man, or Radar's mom. Radar lost the farm! Horrific! Not funny at all! None of this show was funny, and it was supposed to be a comedy? He got divorced and became suicidal. Divorce and suicide was supposed to be funny? Horrific! Who wrote this? What a sick sense of humor! This should not have been written this way at all! He should have stayed on the farm, and married Patty! I'm just mortified! If I could give WALTER zero stars, I would. AFTER MASH wasn't much better, but it was better than this drivel.

I choose to ignore the show WALTER, and just assume that Radar really went back to work on the farm, and marry Patty. The way it should have been.

Holiday Hotline
(2023)

Cheerful Christmas movie!
"Holiday Hotline" is a wonderful and cheerful Christmas movie! Abby is a chef in London who, after a breakup with her boyfriend, goes to Chicago at her parents' suggestion. Abby stays at her Aunt Doreen's former apartment in Chicago. Abby stops cooking, but gets a job at Holiday Hotline, which is where people call in to get help cooking turkeys. I've never heard of a Holiday Hotline before, but it is a cute idea. The boss at Holiday Hotline, Roger, is hilarious!

John calls Holiday Hotline to get help cooking turkey, and talks to Abby, who decides to call herself Peggy. They get along well, not knowing that they already met, kind of like "The Shop Around the Corner" or "You've Got Mail." All in all, a cute movie. I will definitely watch it again next year.

The Secret Gift of Christmas
(2023)

Silly, fun Christmas movie
This is a cute Christmas movie about a Christmas personal shopper who is hired by her new client's nephew. She surprises the new client, Patrick, by excitedly talking about shopping, what to buy, etc. Patrick is totally annoyed. She buys Patrick a sweater that is too small for him, so she suggests that he go shopping with her, so she can get the right size.

This is a good movie, but the other movies that I've seen them in (Megan Ory was in the hilarious "Dashing Through the Snow," and Christopher Russell was in "Love and Glamping" and "Chasing Waterfalls." Christopher Russell is at his best when he plays outdoorsy types). Cute movie; but I don't think I want to watch it again.

A Very Merry Mix-Up
(2013)

A Very unheard of mix up, but the perfect match
What a great movie! Alicia Witt plays Alice, who's boyfriend asks her to marry him, and then invites her home for Christmas to meet his parents. He said he'll meet her there later. She flies there, and meets another guy at the airport who she thinks is her finance Will's brother. They drive to his house, but along the way they have an accident. Matt's (guy from airport) parents pick them up, and they go to Matt's parents' house. Eventually Will picks Alice up, and Will's paents are VERY strange. Especially his mother. But everything works out well in the end. I won't give away what happens. It is a very sweet movie.

The Bridge
(2015)

Where is part 2?
This is a good movie. It's a great story, and has a cute beginning. I will have to look into reading Karen Kingsbury's books. I saw this movie thinking that there was going to be a happy ending, like in all Hallmark movies. But there was no ending! There is a part 2! Why would Hallmark do that? And why would Hallmark air a good 2015 movie and not air part 2? When will they air part 2? When and where can I see part 2? Why do they leave us hanging? I've never heard of such a thing. TV airs a cliffhanger sometimes, but Hallmark movies shouldn't do that. We don't know when or if the part 2 movie is coming on! This is why I'm only giving it 2 stars.

Sleigh Bells Ring
(2016)

Cute movie with a sleigh
This is a really good movie! A single busy mom, Laurel, is organizing her town's Christmas parade, and her boss wants her to get a Christmas tree, a sleigh, and a Santa for the parade. She finds a Christmas tree and a sleigh at a Mr. Winter's house. Coincidentally, Mr. Winter looks like Santa Claus. Laurel and her daughter Scarlett take the sleigh to Audrey's Antiques. Laurel and Alex, the male lead, eventually paint the sleigh. The sleigh is a gorgeous red and green when it's painted. The Christmas tree and the sleigh get in the parade, and Santa Claus is missing, and I won't tell the great ending.

Alex, the male lead, was not very believable, so that's why I gave the movie 7 stars instead of 10. Cute movie, though, anyway.

Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up
(2023)

Not so great a sequel
"Haul out the Holly" was a great movie! So fun and cheerful! It's too bad that I can't say the same for its sequel "Haul out the Holly: Lit Up." Not such a fun and cheerful movie. This movie was quite annoying. A family who were reality TV stars moved in, and literally tried to take over the neighborhood and the homeowner's association, and Christmas festivities, and everything. And they were obnoxious to boot. And mean. Not Christmassy and not cheery. Very disappointing. They should not have made this sequel. They should have just left the first movie "Haul Out the Holly" alone. I recommend "Haul Out the Holly," but not its sequel.

Haul Out the Holly
(2022)

Cheery Christmas movie
"Haul Out The Holly" is definitely a very cheerful and silly Christmas movie. I love it! Emily goes to her parents' house for Christmas, and her parents, while being the head of HOA and always taking charge of Christmas in their neighborhood, and putting up TONS of Christmas decorations every year, decide to leave it all to Emily and go to Florida to find a place in Florida to live. When Emily gets to the house, her parents surprise her by leaving for Florida. Pretty mean, but the parents are actually hilarious.

The whole neighborhood (a small town) get in on the act of putting up Christmas decorations. The neighbor Pamela is absolutely hilarious. It is just a fun, silly movie, and just a little crazy. I'm about to watch the sequel!

Christmas by Design
(2023)

Fit For a Prince is a much better Design Movie
This movie had a very slow start. The leading lady, Charlotte, was WAY too crabby. She was just kind of distant, and only interested in her design work. For instance, she didn't want to go when she was invited somewhere, which prompted one of her family members to say, "So you're going to visit us and just work in your room the whole time?" I'm paraphrasing, since I don't remember the exact line.

The man that Charlotte had run into (quite literally; she had an accident -- she hit his car and her front fender fell off), was annoyed, too, and said that she cares more about her job than her family. Then later, he heard her say on the phone that he is "just a mechanic." These movies are getting a little too high schoolish. But it worked out in the end.

All Summer Long
(2019)

Wonderful cruise ship movie
Tia is a lawyer who flies to San Francisco to help her aunt and uncle with a legal problem. Her aunt and uncle have a dinner yacht that they are converting into a ship for dinner cruises. That sounds like fun! Her Uncle Roland had an accident and hurts his arm, which is in a cast. Her Uncle Roland and Aunt Julie leave Tia in charge of the ship, and Tia becomes the captain of the ship. There she runs into the chef Jake, who is Tia's ex-boyfriend. She also meets Bennet, who likes Tia a lot. Both Jake and Bennet like Tia. Tia is torn about being a lawyer and being a captain of a ship.

Everyone does and excellent job in this movie!

A Heidelberg Holiday
(2023)

This movie didn't disappoint.
When I saw the preview for "A Heidelberg Holiday," I was so excited to see it! It is a great movie! It definitely didn't disappoint. Heidi hand paints small ornaments, and travels to Heidelberg, Germany to sell them. When she gets to Germany, she has trouble getting to where she is going to stay in Heidelberg, and meets a nice man. An artisan, along the way, who helps her get there.

She later gets a booth to sell her ornaments, but the ornaments keep getting derailed in Iceland and other countries. Then when the ornaments arrive, they are broken.

Everyone did a great job in this movie, and the scenery is beautiful! Highly remomended!

Over the Moon in Love
(2019)

Silly High Schoolish Movie
This is a very silly movie. It reminded my of high school movies. Brooklyn has a matchmaking business, and really wants her business to be featured in a style magazine. She really wants the marketing for her business, and throws a party. Stephanie sees Devin, likes him, and asks Brooklyn to help her get a date with Devin, and coach her on what to say. But the complication is Brooklyn likes Devin, too. I mean, this movie is SO High School. It's a very silly movie. If you like high school type movies, you will like it. Otherwise, you won't like it. Nothing wrong with high school movies. But they're NOT in high school! I don't recommend this movie.

Hearts of Winter
(2020)

Excellent interior design movie!
This is an excellent movie! I love this movie! Bethany holds a contest to win a makeover for their house. A girl, Zoe, writes a letter, Bethany and her assistant read it, and they love the letter, and they decide that letter is the winner. Zoe's Dad Grant is not pleased when he finds out that his daughter won a home makeover. Bethany does eventually makeover Grant's home, and it is an absolutely beautiful job. She even installs a neat cabinet to store Zoe's ice skates, which Grant had tripped over in the recent past.

All the actors are superb. The interior designer, daughter and dad are just great! Rukiya Bernard does a great job as the leading lady's friend, as usual.

This is a wonderful, feel good movie. It's one of the best Hallmark movies that I've ever seen. Highly recommended!

A Merry Scottish Christmas
(2023)

Very Scottish Christmas, but lacking romance
A Merry Scottish Christmas is a lovely Scottish fairy tale, where a brother and sister inherit a castle and royal titles Duke and Duchess. Not as good as "Crown for Christmas," which was more magical, because of the romance between the leading lady and the king of a country ( I forgot the name of the country). Brad (the brother), was married, and, of course, Lyndsay (the sister) was single, since this is a Hallmark movie. It wasn't until the end of the movie that Lyndsay and the Scottish suitor didn't even decide to start dating until the end of the movie! This is the first Hallmark movie that I have seen where there is not a budding romance through the movie, then something goes wrong, then they get back together again. It was just disappointing. Otherwise a very good movie. And the Scottish scenery is beautiful, of course.

Christmas at Cartwright's
(2014)

Cheery Santa movie!
I LOVE this movie! Nicky is running out of money, and is about to lose her home, and she sets out to find a job. Thanks to an angel that she never sees, she gets a job as a department store Santa at Cartwright's Department Store. Hilarity ensues. She is a magical Santa, and is very popular, and it is all made magical by the angel. There is a mean boss at the store, though. This movie has a very happy ending. I look forward to watching this movie every year. I hope that Hallmark or GAC Family air "Christmas at Cartwright's" this year, too.

I definitely highly recommend this movie! Best Santa movie ever!

Under the Autumn Moon
(2018)

Great ranch movie!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this movie! An executive, Alex, goes to a ranch that she and her boss would be perfect for company retreats. The owner of the ranch, Josh, won't sell, and meanwhile, his ranch is losing money. His sister Taylor does the cooking at the ranch.

Taylor hurts her hand one day while baking pies, goes to the doctor. When Alex tries making the pies, hilarity ensues! There are other funny moments, too.

Andrew Walker and Lindy Booth and the whole cast are excellent! Paul Essiembre is excellent as Alex's boss. The ending is great, and is a very happy ending, which is, thankfully, how all Hallmark movies end.

The 27-Hour Day
(2021)

Lovely movie about stopping and smelling the roses
Lauren is an entrepreneur. She runs a wellness empire, and doesn't want to take a vacation. Lauren was asked if she ever takes time for herself. She said that she went to the dentist. She definitely is a workaholic.

Lauren finally decides to go on a retreat to slow down. She is horrified that they confiscate technology things, so she had to hand over her tablet, smart watch, cell phone, etc. It is a nice retreat in the country in Montana. She tries to read a book, and is very anxious without technology.

This movie is about slowing down, and taking time to smell the roses. An excellent premise. Life is so fast paced these days. Autumn Reeser and Andrew Walker and the entire cast do an excellent job!

Love on the Menu
(2019)

Best Restaurant movie ever!
"Love on the Menu" is a fun, cheerful movie! Hank is a chef who owns his own restaurant, and the restaurant is not doing very well. A frozen food executive, Maggie, offers to save his restaurant by helping him sell his food as frozen food in the grocery store. It is kind of an odd thing; but it is such a cute movie. This plot kind of reminds me of Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares," which I used to watch. "Love on the Menu is a zillion times better than "Kitchen Nightmares'," though. "Kitchen Nightmares" really is a nightmare. "Love on the Menu" is a dream! Kavan Smith and Autumn Reeser are great in this movie! The whole cast is great! Highly recommended!

A Brush with Christmas
(2022)

Cute movie, but not one of the best.
"A Brush With Christmas" is a wonderful movie. I'm not a big fan of art, but the art in this movie is great. The actors are excellent. The lead actors are great in their roles. All the actors are very believable. I don't like this movie as much as my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies (like "Call Me Mrs. Miracle." "Eloise at Christmastime," "Crown For Christmas," etc). But it is a sweet movie. A head chef at her mom's restaurant loves to paint, and to stop working at a restaurant, but is working at the restaurant to help her mom out. She wants to be a full time painter. She meets another artist named Wyatt, who found the painting that she threw away. The ending of the movie is great.

Christmas in Vienna
(2020)

Great movie, beautifil Vienna
Jess is a concert violinist who's heart isn't in being a concert violinist anymore, and goes to the gorgeous city of Vienna, Austria. She meets a man there named Mark, and they get along great. Eventually, Mark and his daughters convince Jess to want to be a concert violinist again. Beautiful music. The movie has a fantastic and sweet ending, and the dresses are beautiful. The scenery in Vienna is beautiful, of course. And the Christmas decorations are beautiful. I will definitely be watching this movie again this year. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies. All of the actors do a superb job.

Call Me Mrs. Miracle
(2010)

My favorite Christmas movie! Ever!
"Call Me Mrs. Miracle" is my absolute favorite Christmas movie ever! It's better than the first movie, "Mrs. Miracle," which I don't like as much.

"Call Me Mrs. Miracle" is based on the book of the same name by Debbie Macomber. I also love the book, which is my absolute favorite fictional book! The movie is slightly different from the book, but both are excellent. Holly works for a fashion designer, who is a nightmarish boss. Jake works at Finley's Department Store, which is owned by his dad. Mrs. Miracle (Doris Roberts is superb!) gets a job at the department store in the toy department. She is an angel, unbeknownst to everyone, that tries to get Jake and Holly together. A really fun and sweet movie (and book). I just love it! Highly recommended!

Christmas Waltz
(2020)

Fun Christmas movie
Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp are great in this Christmas movie, "The Christmas Waltz." Lacey Chabert is a lawyer, and takes dancing lessons because she is getting married, and is taking lessons for her wedding dance. Will Kemp is the dance teacher. Will Kemp is obviously a great dancer. Lacey Chabert danced very well, too. The dancing was great, and the scenery was great. The clothes were great, too. I love Lacey Chabert's dress at the end. Beuatiful dress!

"The Christmas Waltz" is one of my favorite Christmas movies! I definitely highly recommend "The Christmas Waltz!" I will watch it again when it is aired.

Nature of Love
(2020)

Great outdoorsy movie!
Christopher Russell plays a tour guide in the great outdoors again, and he does an excellent job! He should do more of these movies. He is so good at it! Just like Russell Crowe is so good at the time period movies (Master and Commander, Gladiator). Emilie Ullerup was great at playing the magazine writer who is clueless about nature and camping, which I can relate to. I'm definitely not interested in camping, although I wouldn't mind camping if there was a tent to stay in that is like a hotel! I've never seen anything like that in my life! That was great! Cute movie. Highly recommended. All the actors were great, and the scenery was great. The tent hotel was gorgeous!

Chasing Waterfalls
(2021)

Great outdoorsy movie
Christopher Russell is great at playing outdoorsy type characters. He always looks like he's in his element in this type of movie. He looks very comfortable in the woods. Christopher Russell and Cindy Busby are great in movies together. Cindy Busby plays a photographer who tries to find a certain waterfall, and Christopher Russell is her tour guide who knows where the waterfall is. Cassidy Nugent plays Russell's daughter. She is excellent, too. The friend Tara is excellent, too. All the actors are great. The scenery is beautiful. It's a very sweet and thoughtful movie. I do definitely recommend this well done movie.

The Wonderful World of Disney: Eloise at Christmastime
(2003)
Episode 6, Season 45

Wonderful and cheery Christmas movie!
I absolutely LOVE this Christmas movie! "Eloise at Christmastime" is such a great movie! Even Julie Andrews (who was superb in "Mary Poppins" and "The Sound of Music") is in it, and is superb, as always! Julie Andrews plays the nanny to a little girl named Eloise, and they live in the Plaza Hotel in New York City. They even go on a shopping spree! Or, actually, Eloise does, but the nanny goes along with her. Eloise is played by Sofia Vassilieva, who does an excellent job playing Eloise! Excellent acting job by all the actors! I used to watch "Eloise at Christmastime" every Christmas season! I looked forward to watching it! But it's never on anymore. Because it's old, I guess (2003). Hallmark and GAC Family should air older movies, too, that were so good. This is definitely one of them. Highly recommended.
