City on a Hill
(2019)

crap
There is no reason to care about any of these miserable characters.

1 point for good recreation of the era.- wardrobe, sets etc.. Kevin Bacon and Jill Hennessy are trying way too hard.

Future Man
(2017)

4/10
The first season: 8/10 the second season: 4/10 the third season : 0/10.

The White Lotus
(2021)

garbage
70min of plot dragged out over 6 hours.

Take home lesson: it's okay to commit assault and grand theft, y'know, coz tourists are just soooooo f#@king eeeeeeviiiiiil.

Get Shorty
(2017)

excellent
I didn't like the movie.

The series is unexpectedly excellent.

Season 1: 8/10

season 2: 7/10

season 3: episodes 1-6: 7/10.

Last episode: 0/10 - major disappointment.

Mare of Easttown
(2021)

mostly good
The story is pretty much a knock-off of Secrets and Lies Season 1 - Juliette Lewis, Ryan Phillipe 2015.

Labor Day
(2013)

great stuff
Beautiful romantic film. Excellent cast and excellent performances. The one negative is the narrated sequences, why is it necessary to describe exactly what's being shown on screen?

Deep State
(2018)

season 1 & 2
If you like conspiracy theories about how the US Government and corporations are responsible for all the ills in the world, if you want to see a bunch of British actors & actresses fail with their American accents, if you want to be bored to tears, then this garbage series is for you.

Wonder Woman 1984
(2020)

Garbage
Wonder Woman 2017 - 8/10. WW84 - 0/10. There is nothing good about this movie.

Paterno
(2018)

problematic
If this was a fictional film about victims of sexual violence, a University's administration and its students, then I'd give it 7/10 - good performances, engaging script etc..

The problem is that the film deals with real-life events and real people and most of the film shows conversations between Coach Paterno and his wife, his family, his lawyer and his "crisis manager." No one outside that small group knows what was said. All this speculation is kinda reckless, people watch biopics and think they're watching history, and it ain't the case.

They should've tried harder and figured out how to make a compelling film only using what is public knowledge.

The Boys
(2019)

good. crap.
I haven't read the comics. I have no doubt that if I liked the comics I would hate the show, I don't know why people watch tv/movies of comics/books they love. season one is excellent. 9/10 season two is crap. 0/10. it's slow, and packed with political references. no thanks.

The Middle
(2009)

best
I hate Everyone Loves Raymond, it has a nastiness and ugliness, so I wasn't going to watch anything with Patricia Heaton. Plus, from the ads it kinda looked like it was trying to copy Malcolm in the Middle, so I had no interest in ever seeing it. Then I caught an episode of The Middle, my concerns were proved wrong on all counts. It is complete awesomeness! The core cast are amazing, the minor cast are awesome too. Realistic family, realistic daily issues, it's good-natured without being cheesy or soppy. There's no other show like it, I don;t know how the creators were given the green light for production. Other shows may have funnier moments, but this is the most consistently excellent, humorous, clever, sit-com ever. Most shows lose their way as the seasons pile up, even Seinfeld & Frasier faltered towards the end. Not so with The Middle, only 2 episodes in season 9 were a little off the mark. I don't know how they maintained the quality, it's astounding. I Love it to bits.

Cobra Kai
(2018)

yuck
Karate Kid '84 - 10/10 one of the greatest films ever.

Karate Kid II '86 - 9/10 it's rare that a sequel is any good let alone excellent.

I have no memory of Karate Kid III, either I haven't seen it or it was so bad that I blocked it out.

Cobra Kai - 0/10 it's a disaster.

Create something new and stop screwing with my childhood.

Tenet
(2020)

stupid
It turns out that I wasn't the only one who couldn't hear what the characters were saying. True to form, Nolan makes another film that makes no sense while trying really hard to be smart.

The Chicago Code
(2011)

good
Jason Clarke carries this show. Delroy Lindo is good as usual. I like Jennifer Beals, she makes a convincing boss, her accent is way over the top but funny - "crwiminal" "prwosecution."

True Detective
(2014)

1. great. 2. crap. 3. waste
Season one: 10/10.

season two: 3/10. good cast, crap story.

season three: 3/10. good cast. way too many time-lines to keep track of, and the whole complicated story -that seems to be building up to something awesome- ends in a nothing burger. complete waste of time.

Westworld
(2016)

WASTEworld
Season one: 8/10

season two: 0/10. a mess, makes no sense.

season three: 0/10. each episode is stupid in a hundred ways.

Elementary
(2012)

Fabulous times a million.
I didn't like Lucy Liu's previous work so I avoided this series for along time. I'm damn happy that I caught an episode and was surprised how great she is as Dr. Joan Watson.

The reimagining of Holmes & Watson & Moriarty is brilliant.

Some of the mysteries are better than others, but the crimes are beside the point. The soul of this show is the relationship between Sherlock & Joan and their friendship with Marcus and Capt. Gregson. Each episode contains a beautiful/lovely/charming/tender scene that hits deep.

The wardrobe of the core characters is elegant, particularly Joan's, I don't think she wore the same outfit twice, sometimes several changes in one episode.

The Brownstone and Precinct sets are convincing and cool. Excellent all-round production.

It is not perfect but I still give it 10/10, because of how awesome the awesome bits are.

One of the few series to maintain it's quality right to the final episode. One of the best shows of all time.

Terriers
(2010)

excellent show
The cast, script, production are all excellent. shame it ran for only one season.

Hubie Halloween
(2020)

confusing
With all the silliness this seems to be aimed at kids, but they included many sexual references. Either it's a children's movie or an adults' movie you can't have it both ways. Gross. If they dumped the adult material it would great for younger viewers.

The Shield
(2002)

Heavy stuff
This series is not relaxing entertainment, I felt kinda gross after each episode, it's hard and ugly, I reckon that was Shawn Ryan's intent. One of the few series to maintain its excellence right through to the final episode. The best Cop Show of all time, nothing comes close. An awesome and difficult experience.

Away
(2020)

girls beware
Girls! If who are looking for an inspiring role-model please don't watch this garbage. Here are some examples of awesome female characters: Lois Lane, Mj. Margaret Houlihan, Princess Leia [EP. IV, V, VI], Ripley, Sarah Connor, Special Agent Dana Scully, Captn. Kathryn Janeway, Claudette Wyms, Dr. Joan Watson, Kim Wexler, Sue Heck.

Every episode demonstrates Emma is unfit to be Commander, she isn't even fit to be a member of the crew, the others aren't fit either. It's like NASA rounded up a bunch random civilians off the street and sent them to Mars.

The scenarios are absurd. The continuous crying and whining and emotional break downs are intolerable - and unrealistic, they're meant to be the best astronauts in the world.

Some parts of the ship have gravity other parts are zero G, sometimes the central hub of the craft has both gravity and zero G simultaneously - one of many examples: marionettes can't function in zero G! ...everything else about this series is nonsense, so who cares?

Yellowstone
(2018)

Good Fun
Kevin Costner is awesome, the rest of the cast are excellent - except for Monica's preaching. It's a soap opera to be sure, but it's great fluffy entertainment.

Schitt$ Creek
(2015)

disappointing
I like a lot of Eugene Levy and Chatherine O'Hara's work so I was looking forward to this series. I can't believe how un-funny this is. Major let down.

Hunters
(2020)

Entertaining
One of the best ever opening sequences for any TV series. Many Jewish details that will go over the heads of most of the audience. The Yiddish accents are dodgy, I can't make out half the stuff Al Pacino is saying, but that doesn't matter, the cast are all great. Overall good stuff. The last episode is disappointing.

The King of Queens
(1998)

Great
The first six and half seasons are 10/10. I just pretend the remainder doesn't exist.
