My 8 stars are for the performance and story.. embarrassing action.. This could had been a great step forward for Bollywood in terms of action choreography.. ridiculous escape sequences, and more depth should had been shown on planning and execution of the bank robberies.. as a Bollywood fan an Aamir fan, an Abhishek fan and strong defender of the industry, I'm extremely embarrassed about the action sequences. Director should have taken more effort.. much more effort. The story, the first climax pre intermission.. excellent.. the follow up in the second half more than lives up to it.. the final climax was again an extremely lazy effort and seemed as if the film had to be finished in a hurry, so more screen time was given to the drama quotient but not on 'how the hell did abhishek find them'.. director had many flaws in Tashan, and still hasn't improved with Dhoom 3.. Tashan too had A LOT of potential.. so did this, but even Aamir couldn't save the action sequences here..
Now the good, the story, the 1st climax, the follow up.. 10/10.. aamir's performance, abhishek's performance.. 10/10. Ali (uday) is a very pleasant person, but character demands he goes over the top and that gets annoying the very second he comes on screen.. I should have said Uday is a pleasant person but the character he plays Ali is %#}*@%#* annoying..
You can tell the effort Katrina has taken to improve her dancing skills, her figure and looks, but her acting still needs a lot of improvement to be believable.. other characters more or less ok..
Despite the rubbish action and robbery(how, HOW?)sequences that insult the audience's intelligence, for Aamir, Abhishek and the story.. 8/10.. could had been 10/10.. still consider it wasted potential..
