Baby Reindeer
(2024)

Snooze fest....
Uuuughhh where to begin......

This has to be the hardest series I've ever had to try and watch. I really wanted to make it through given its high rating and reviews... and I love a good bio flick or docuseries... wow this was soooooooo boring.

I stopped quite a few times and restarted quite a few times. I finally made it half way through episode 6. And I know this was supposed to be the episode that hits the hardest and I'm supposed to be all like wow and amazed and it's all supposed to be very emotional but ..... I can't even express the boredom I felt. The whole story is very unfortunate and shattering but... sadly I felt boredom before ANY of those things.

I have nothing else to say. Just boredom.

Trial by Media
(2020)

These shows are getting tired.
Episode 1 is probably the only one that directly relates to the title of having anything to do with media interference. To a much lesser extent number 2.

By the time I got to ep 3 I was quite bored. These are all tragic events however the same agenda tends to shine more than anything else. I tended to skip through a lot of it to try to find the story of what actually happened. Nothing new here probably the same as every other doco series on Netflix.

It is so hard to find a GOOD doco series. This is not one of them. But go ahead and watch it if your views align with that of typical Hollywood.

And LOL how they kept inserting imaging from Catholic Churches when talking about baptist ministries lol.

Happiness for Beginners
(2023)

Cute!!!
I thought this was a really cute movie! I had no idea that it was a book so I really comment on that.

It didn't have to have complex characters or or political opinions or obvious social issues being pushed. Anything that was included in this movie seamlessly moulded with the characters which made it extremely easy to watch.

Just a lovely simple story to relax to...

Overall I think I'd there were more of these being made tv would be less stressful to watch lol I'm all for movies with a message but not ALLLLL the time it's exhausting and I feel like just scrolling the menu increases my anxiety levels.

Dead to Me
(2019)

A bit too much man-bashing (literally? Lol)
I enjoyed this series. Such an entertaining concept and the three lead characters all carried this show through to its success.

Somewhere along the line I started to notice however that all the female characters tend to be the heroes of the story and the men seem to either be idiots or the "bad guy", all the way down to the doctor bearing bad news. The only exceptions I can think of is the husband who turns out to be gay. And the black cop who needs to let them go in the final episodes in order for the series to come to a conclusion.

Although once I noticed this it was hard to get past, I still did enjoy the relationship between Judy and Jen..... although even that became a little bit too "BEACHES".

Oh and Katey Segal's appearance was a complete surprised to me and I loved it! Especially since there was that existing connection between herself and Christina applegate.

The People We Hate at the Wedding
(2022)

Depression - the only thing I took away from this movie
This movie is just a bunch of scenes thrown together and I don't even think it's trying to be funny. To be honest I'm not sure exactly what this movie is meant to be. I went into it not knowing what to expect but I have enjoyed Kristen bell movies before, and I often watch movies with zero expectation and are presently surprised, but this is definitely not one of those times. Even the only nice (likeable) character - the guy from the plane who likes Alice, makes absolutely no sense she has displayed absolutely no reason why he should like her.

This movie is like they just threw everything that Netflix loves to include in movies in one giant incomprehensible mess. From divorced parents, multiple marriages, disapproval of gay sons, affairs, ... then mentioning everything on the other end of the scales and only using it it a negative way (the wife with the newborn is a psychopath)

You know when you watch a movie and the characters you initially detest grow and evolve and you want them to live happily ever after? Yea I didn't get that from these characters. I actually wanted them to live a missable life. I'm actually very surprised at the ending I expected the wedding to not go ahead. It would have fit more with the general feeling of the film.

I'd actually rate this as one of the stupidest movies I've ever seen in my life. There isn't really a better word to describe it. Even the "happy ending" didn't feel particularly happy LOL.

Gypsy
(2017)

Sooooooo sloooooow.......
Very drawn out scenes. I watched this skipping ahead intermittently through most of the scenes. Very long episode where not much seems to happen. I thought it may be a more mature version of YOU. Really nothing like YOU which was so much more entertaining. I get that it's mean to be more intense but I feel like that intensity is pushed too and it seems to last an eternity. A A but like this review. .

Characters are annoying. Probably just don't start this one.

There's little to no suspense. Zero interest in any of the characters. I'm writing this while trying to get to the end of episode one..

The Gray Man
(2022)

Just great entertainment!
IMO what a good movie should be - entertaining! This movie delivered. So refreshing to have a movie released after 2020 that simply ENTERTAINS. A movie that I didn't have to roll my eyes through even once or talk myself into finishing. I gave it 8 out of 10 stars not because I'm comparing it to the likes of godfather or shawshank redemption but against the calibre of other movies realised post 2020.

Loved it. Netflix need more of these.

Luca
(2021)

Forgettable
Quite boring. My kids barely sat through it and forgot it the minute it ended. They've never asked to watch it again. Uninteresting for the adults in the room also.

Inventing Anna
(2022)

Interesting story, but every political comment stood out like a punch in the face
Not too bad. I could even get past the accent. But every time a political remark came out of nowhere it took me completely out of the story and I spent the next 5 minutes trying to figure out what that had to do with anything. So very distracting. Wish Hollywood would realise no one is interested in their opinion. Stick to your art, such hard eye rolling hurts my eyeballs.

Deadly Class
(2018)

Started out interesting... then was barely watchable
I made it to episode 7 but it started it's decline a few episodes prior to that. Tried to push though seeing as there were only 10 episodes listed I thought I could finish it. But episode 7 was not only an agenda that's been suuuuuuuuuuper done in Hollywood but also just boring! I'd heard enough of the story and didn't feel interested in knowing any more. Characters generally uninteresting. Overall, beyond the general concept there's nothing much here that makes me want to finish the last three eps.

New Amsterdam: The Denominator
(2019)
Episode 4, Season 2

Telling a patient to kill themselves to get revenge on a rival
A doctor telling a patient to overdose on pills is bad enough but to do it to get back at another doctor? Just wow. Show seems to be going downhill.
