Dunki
(2023)

Good, not great
After a long time, a family drama movie with no adult humour or adult scenes has arrived on the screens. Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki is heart touching with little drops of humour here and there.

The film explores the other side of the coin named immigration which not many people know about due to the never ending hype especially in northern India. Vicky Kaushal has played a short but impactful role. The supporting cast has done their job well too. The main cast however has not performed upto the mark. SRK has played his character with his classic acting style and Taapsee Pannu could definitely be replaced by someone else.

There were no major plot twists and everything could pretty much be predicted throughout the screenplay considering how easily it was given away. The songs are very average as well. The ending does get a bit emotional.

If you want to watch a movie with your family, this is your go-to movie after very intense movies like Animal. But don't go with very high expectations.

The Archies
(2023)

Why does it exist?
The Archies is a movie set in the 1960s where you will hardly find any element to make you feel that way. This is a highly unrealistic, impractical movie which has been produced just to launch the already privileged ones.

The acting has been pathetic by most actors and they can't connect with the audience whatsoever. Suhana Khan is nowhere near to the legacy of her father. Agastya Nanda hasn't acted any better as well. The acting was way too lifeless without any expressions and emotions. I suppose last name shouldn't be the only criteria for casting actors in a film.

Overall the movie is a strict NO NO! Avoid it even if it doesn't cost you anything extra monetarily. After all time is also money, right?

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan
(2023)

Bas Karo Bhaijaan
In the days when OTT platforms are giving us true entertainers like Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga and Gulmohar, the producers are aiming at filling their pockets in box office with just the presence of 'megastars' like Salman Khan. Creativity, originality, good music, good script, entertainment, you ask for it. You won't find any of these things in the movie.

It's not a secret that KKBKKJ is a remake of Tamil film Veeram. The makers tried to capitalize on just the name of Salman Khan. The movie will make tons of money nonetheless. If you are someone who actually cares for quality content and want value out of your money, AVOID this movie. And if your time is precious too, avoid this even when it releases on OTT platforms later.

The movie is a pathetic attempt to give Salman Khan a movie like SRK's Pathaan which was a box office blockbuster. Salman should now take retirement and make space for actual talented actors, scriptwriters and directors. As long as movies continue to be watched due to presence of a particular name, the new era of Bollywood which is marked by quality and creativity will wash out soon.

This movie is recommended only to people who have insomnia, or are just too happy with their life choices and need a change. For normal people, it's a big NO NO.

Zwigato
(2022)

Good concept, poor delivery
Kapil Sharma is back on big screen after years of break. The expectations were set high after the trailer release. But in reality, the film fails to deliver it for the most part.

Pretty much everything was revealed in trailer itself. Most audience are curious to witness the climax. But with Zwigato, even the climax is a miss. One never knows where the film began, where it is going and where it ended. It was too abstract for a movie.

The effort of the director to earn respect for gig workers is the only thing that actually succeeded. It does touch the softer side of audience. But did it really require a 2 hour movie for it? I don't believe so. Everything one sees in the movie was actually present in trailer itself. The predictability element was way too high.

Kapil Sharma plays his part well and connects with audience due to the common man looks and the familiarity. Shahana Goswami does great job playing as a loving and caring wife and earns sympathy of audience for the struggle that the underprivileged go through.

Overall this is strictly an one time watch OTT movie at max. One can avoid that too by just watching the trailer because the movie didn't have anything interesting per se, which was already not shown in trailer.

777 Charlie
(2022)

ONCE IN A LIFETIME MOVIE
One of the best movies out there which shouldn't be missed at any cost.

The plot of the movie is one of its kind. Just when I thought creativity has reached its peak, the movie comes as a pleasant surprise and gives a breath of fresh air.

Hats off to the director for creating a screenplay which doesn't get boring even for a second and you don't realise when 2 hours and 40 minutes pass by.

I wish I knew about this gem of a movie earlier and could experience it in a cinema hall.

Also it comes with its own set of life lessons which are easter eggs like the world is a selfish place and only uses you for self interest, true love comes from family only, one needs money to survive no matter what, etc It has given attention to some fine details like gradual growth of hair in the second half (which you will know why it should be). Just shows the commitment of production team towards this project.

Congratulations to the entire team for this masterpiece. Don't want to give any spoilers but this movie is an emotional rollercoaster and will surely make you humane by the end. If this doesn't deserve Oscar award, I don't know what does.

P. S.- Rakshit Shetty's acting was phenomenal, and so was Charlie's. You two made the movie soulful.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva
(2022)

Avoid even if you get to watch for free
From what was expected, the movie is nowhere close to it. Firstly it is painfully long. The unnecessary love story just adds to the length of the movie, not its value Acting by the lead actors was average at best. Considering Ranbir and Alia are talented onee among the nepotistic lot of kids, much was expected from them. But they failed to stand up to it.

The only thing which can be appreciated is the VFX in the 2nd half. Yet it doesn't cover up for the hype which was surrounding the movie. The series is pending and more movies are expected. But will they ever release considering how long it took for the first part to release?

Just avoid watching this movie. It's an overrated, overhyped piece of work. A lot of Hollywood movies are expected which can provide a better VFX and overall viewing experience.

The effort was there but the money is wasted on Brahmastra production. It has failed to deliver and is far from being recommendable.

Aspirants
(2021)

The best thing available on YouTube today
TVF is not a name you are hearing for the first time. Famous for its incredible series like Pitchers, Yeh Meri Family and Kota Factory, it has now come back with another heart warming series known as "Aspirants".

In a time when other OTT platforms are offering you violence and adult content in the disguise of entertainment, TVF has beautifully represented the life of normal students and added its own flavour to keep you glued to the screen.

If you thought Kota Factory was the best TVF could present in terms of student life, this new project of theirs might prove you wrong. A fine mixture of drama, romance, friendship and motivation, this new series is hands down the best content that is available on YouTube currently.

Wanted Kota Factory season 2? You are gifted with something even better and that too free! Let's preserve this gem called TVF. They deserve much more than they are receiving right now.
