Mojave
(2015)

Confusing
I had suck high hopes in this being a potential masterpiece however, This film made a lot of assumptions that the viewer would be able to understand what is happening without telling them. I'm generally able to figure stuff like that out on my own, but this film is such a train wreck I barely knew what was happening. Characters come and go for no reason.

On paper the fantastic cast would make for an amazing film but due to the poor writing, confusing direction and editing it all completely fell apart. Mark Walberg really phoned in his performance, is was very disappointing to see. Needed 11 more characters to complete review.

SmartLess: On the Road

A fan of the podcast but not this
I have been listening to the podcast since episode 3. I was very excited to see this series however it doesn't come across very genuine. The guys who seem very likeable on the POD come across very different here. I really don't think this is truly them in real life and that is supposed to be the point of this show. There is also something about the black and white that really effects the quality of the viewing experience. I personally think black and white can be used in moderation but the entire series was just odd choice. I would have also liked to see more of the interviews but I do understand the point of the series is a behind the scene look.

Spaceship Earth

So slow
The pacing of this made it nearly unwatchable. I understand the topic isn't overly invigorating but they could have picked the packing up of the story telling to compensate for this. Everyone one interviewed talked in a very slow pace with long pauses. Wouldn't recommend for anyone who isn't completely interested in this topic.

The rest of this is just to make up the 600 characters needed, so there's really no need for you to read this part.

Other Reviews are a Joke
Many of the other reviews are laughable. Some of you don't know the difference between her demented inner thoughts and narration. I overall enjoy this show. Rose's acting is well Done and an enjoyable storyline.

Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives.
(2022)

All an Illusion
The entire documentary and so called story is an complete illusion. Tried to make you believe there was a interesting story here but really there wasn't. For the little bit that was there , it could have been 30 minutes on dateline or something.

Windfall
(2022)

Character Study
Reading the reviews just do not make sense to me. This is a well done character study. I know it's not a quick moving action film but the acting and dynamic story is worth the 90+ minutes.

The Laundromat
(2019)

Strange cuts
The film has many strange cuts and it made the story hard to follow and confusing. It's like there was 5 movies happening at once and only the one with Meryl Streep was worth my time.

Race: Bubba Wallace
(2022)

Well done
First off the series was well done and organized. I learned a lot of things I did not know. Secondly seeing all the 1star ratings show the importance of documentaries like this.

Vikings: Valhalla

Negative Reviews Are A Joke
Just finished up this series, read a few of the reviews. Those are a complete joke. This is not a perfect show but far better than the 1 star reviews I've read. I throughly enjoyed the episodes that are available now and cannot wait for the others.

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
(2007)

Wonderfully Acted
The acting performances were top notch however the slow pace of the film really made it a difficult watch. I wanted to love this film, instead I only just liked it.

Mr. Right
(2015)

Classic Rockwell
The role Sam Rockwell played was well suited for him. The action scenes were all fun. I just had a hard time with Anna Kendrick, she seemed to be trying to hard. Any joke she made fell flat and she seemed awkward, but not in the cute way she appears to be trying to do.

The Quick and Dirty
(2019)

Incoherent Story line
I think they knew the story they wanted to tell but didn't tell it. The plot was messy and all the place. Almost nothing of this made any sense. On a good note, the acting wasn't terrible and it was a quick watch.

Records
(2021)

Number 2 dropped a deuce
I generally am not very critical, but this was terrible. Seriously this is then worst documentary I've seen, the first being Vinyl. This had potential but once again Alan included himself in the final cut bringing this whole thing down.

Red Dirt Rising
(2011)

A need for speed
For a movie about racing, it sure was slow. All drama, well at least an attempt at drama that never really hit. The racing was few and far between. Combined with the terrible acting I suggest you pass on this.

Copper Bill
(2020)

Not the worst
There's plenty of plot holes, the acting isn't great, but it managed to keep me watching the entire time. Probably would have rated a bit highest if it wasn't for that ending.

Brewster McCloud
(1970)

Ummm.... Ummmm....
I think not myself as someone who "gets" more movies and I really enjoy non mainstream films, but this had me lost the entire time. I have no idea what was going on. The acting is terrible and the plot seemed to be non existent.

The Sunshine Boys
(1975)

Fizzled
This film started off fantastic, building towards these two legends getting together. When the big moment finally came something odd happened...... Nothing happened. The film just kinda stopped, all the charm sucked out of it. Very disappointed.

Paris, Texas
(1984)

Soundtrack sets the pace
This is a sleepy film, with a slow moving and sometimes confusing plot. However in the end , you'll find it an enjoyable film. The Ry Cooder soundtrack really sets the slow pace but adds intrigue to the film.

One Night in Miami...
(2020)

More about the message
This film was more message than a movie. The ideals behind the meeting are important to learn and understand. The acting was well done but overall all it was dull and very wordy. I do recommend a watch but wouldn't be something I'd put in repeat.

Parents
(1989)

Potential was there
The film had potential to be great, but missed at every opportunity. The comedy was nonexistent, the horror was lame even for late 1980's. Michael's dialogue was hard to understand, however that may have been on purpose. The interactions at school were so random.

Freeway
(1996)

Hidden in plain sight
I have no idea how I have not heard of this film. Just happened to find it on Amazon prime and watched based on the lead actors. I will add if you are looking for a feel good Reece Witherspoon movie you will not like this. Very dark but very good.

Fantasy Island
(2020)

Wait for it
The first half was not that great, it wasn't until the 2nd half that hooked me and really enjoyed the film.

Delivery Man
(2013)

Remake
A decent remake of a Canadian film named Starbuck. If you enjoy the is I recommend watching Starbuck as well.

Susan Slept Here
(1954)

Doesn't hold up
Time hasn't been good for this movie. It just doesn't hold up anymore and the plot leaves you feeling icky. The narration was hokey and lame. Wouldn't really recommend this film.

Black Christmas
(1974)

Hidden Gem
This is certainly a film that needs to be seen. Well done acting, and storyline is great. To be fair there is a few "holes" in the story but could be more to the fact I'm viewing many years after it's release and technology has changed a great deal. The 'unicorn' scene was really well done, loved the way it was shot.
