Now that's what I call a masterpiece. After seeing the film, I watched it about five more times and then went on to read the books, which also immediately captivated me, grabbed me and never let go. I'm happy to be at the birth of perhaps another iconic saga like Lord of the Rings. The anticipation for the next instalment(s) is great and the excitement even greater. What Hans Zimmer has done with the music again is incredible. The cinematography is first class, the visual effects are top notch (Marvel and others can only be envious). Denis Villeneuve shows here that he is a first class director and screenwriter and I will be rooting for him on his journey and not letting his work out of my sight, as well as actor Timothée Chalamet, who has become actor numero uno for me. Of course, in this film, each actor is better than the other. The only drawback I can see with the film, which I didn't mind, is that the film may drag for some. But I just see it as a build-up for the sequel.
So: Visuals- 10/10, Cinematography- 10/10, Music- 10/10, Production Design - 9/10, Acting - 10/10 ---> Total 10/10.

So where to start. I've been looking forward to this film since I was a little kid and had really high expectations, and I'm happy to report that it has succeeded. First of all, I have to highlight the sound and especially the music. Hans Zimmer presents the best songs he has ever composed. A new spice in the form of Florence Pugh and especially Austin Butler, who gives an amazing performance and really scares me at times. Timothée Chalamet is great as always, the guy just knows his stuff. Visually, there's nothing to complain about and the scenes with the worm are impressive. Denis Villeneuve really appreciates the work and it shows. The precision and the portrayal of Paul, not as a hero, but as a fanatic, is shown to perfection here. Just as Frank Herbert would have wanted. The black and white passages on the planet Giedi Prima are unreal, along with other compositionally great shots. I have to pick out the final battle where the music stops and it adds just the right touch. Just wow! The cinematography is always great. The costumes are incredible, and the little surprise of Paul's sister was also a delight. The only real minus for me is the unnecessary speeding up compared to the book, and the film could easily have been half an hour to an hour longer. I'd like to ride the spice longer. I'm glad that Villeneuve is keeping the door open for a possible third part, and I'm eagerly awaiting it. After all, the trilogy certainly deserves this pompous work. If you liked the first film and its only flaw was a lack of action, you need not worry. IMPORTANT TO SEE IN IMAX OR AT LEAST IN THE CINEMA!
