Asteroid City
(2023)

I typically leave positive reviews so let's see
I did enjoy the sets, props, camera movements, and the way things were visually set up. Color choices were nice, in the scenes that were not black and white. I don't mind black and white; I was born in the late eighties and was raised on many wonderful black and white tv shows. I appreciate when a movie feels different than what I've seen. I can also see how speaking styles are a choice, for example Gilmore Girls being a very fast paced run- not to necessarily compare this to a tv series, but it was the example I thought of for comparison. Perhaps Shakespeare is another- as rhythm is to be considered.

Perhaps I need to rewatch this movie, or simply another by the same director. I enjoyed the students, as they are intelligent and interesting. I'm not sure that I enjoyed the movie as a whole though, despite the scientific and sci-fi touches.

I Still See You
(2018)

I love mysteries, stories to uncover the truth, and ghosts
I found this interesting. Although I was left with many questions, I will definitely watch this again. I'm someone that adored "Ghost Whisperer" and different iterations of Nancy Drew. I also more recently enjoyed the "Lockwood and Co" show. I will say this particular story poses an interesting aspect to grief- so perhaps how I judge the acting comes from that mindset that it doesn't aways look the same in everyone. Also- as a 30 something female, I typically don't seek out the more adult roles of child stars during my childhood, (I admittedly prefer their childhood roles) but I was intrigued by the movie's description on Amazon Prime. I'm glad I watched this and will most likely watch this again.

Angel Falls Christmas
(2021)

I didn't hate it- was more realistic than I wanted
I enjoyed this movie. I had to remind myself that with angel characters, I had to think realistically even though I wanted good things for Chad Michael Murray's character. I am a big fan of seeing something we may take for granted through the eyes of someone else- whether it be a child, an Elf, or in this case an angel. Stories like that bring me joy. I found the "stiffness" from Chad to be justifiable; sure, he found joy in so many Christmas things, one might say human things, and humans found him delightful and by no means a fish out of water, but I can't expect an angel to sound exactly like a human in their speech pattern. I'm not upset with the ratings of others, but I am sorry they didn't find as much joy.

Scaredy Cats
(2021)

In my 30s- adored this cute mini-series!
Super cute. I'm a fan of spooky more so than super scary, even as an adult. (But enjoy sci-fi thrillers at the same time) I will for sure rewatch this next Halloween. It was definitely cheesy- always is with live action animals that talk and move their mouths- but enjoyable. The dad, the owner of the Broom Emporium, the teacher, Winnefred, and Snout were probably my most favorite characters. Oh and the W alliteration of names was kind of fun! I enjoyed many of the magical props too.. oh the glasses! Who needs a cloak of invisibility, I want the glasses!!!! Hmm- review too short? That's new. Maybe I've usually written longer.

Weiwei yixiao hen qingcheng
(2016)

I highly enjoyed this and didn't want it to end
I would give this 100 stars if I could. Absolute favorite. I am a geeky girl. I appreciated the amount of characters that ended up with/maintained integrity- not usually common with shows about geeks that may have not dated before. I am not one to bash, but I am an adult American and have found myself enjoying Japanese, Korean, and Chinese romance/dramatic shows and movies much more than from my country. There's an innocence to so many of the former, which that is refreshing. Thank you for allowing many of the seemingly not so nice characters to grow and sharpen their characters on top of the already (morally) good characters keeping their integrity. They were not corrupted is what I'm saying! I get so tired of the cinnamon roll characters that are corrupted in stories from other countries- and those shows last for years and years- not fair. I'm in so many fandoms it's very difficult to rewatch many of the shows and movies I love- but I will insist on rewatching this one again and again. Is is the in game scenes? Is it the preciousness yet strength of our leading lady?

Warning, Real Spoilers below

Is it the adorableness of her best friend, who I cried with and then surprisingly hoped her in-game love would redeem himself? Is it her Lord's obvious love and respect for her? Is it the subtle devotion of K. O. for Mr. Mai? (K. O. Is definitely in my top 5 favorite characters) Is it the character of the campus belle who surprisingly did want what was best for others (her friends did not help her! They stirred up so much and gave awful advice!!) I was hoping she would spend more time with Weiwei, she was not a true villain! I was hoping Young Master would team up with the side he realized had more integrity and intelligence, but I also was proud of his decision. I had a feeling he wanted more sportsmanship with a competitor- good for him for seeing pettiness and immortality!! (Sorry I am bad at remembering names and their spelling- surely anyone that watched the full show knows which characters I'm referring to.) Thanks for reading this far with my gushy ramblings!

Gaet-na-eul cha-cha-cha
(2021)

I adored this show
I have found a strong appreciation for the romances in South Korean shows and movies. This is no exception. I expected this to be lighthearted, which it was enough of the time. I just completed episode 16 today and I need more! I laughed, I cried, I felt deep emotions along with these characters I've grown to love. Maybe not everyone watching had these connections, but I definitely did. I shall watch the movie this was based on. I do love Dr. Yoo but dare I say it, my favorite has been Chief Hong!! Jang Yi Jun and Bo Ra were fast favorites as well for me. I could have been content knowing about each and every character's life for years to come! Truly.

Change in the Air
(2018)

Top 5 favorite movies for me
Just watched "A Change is in the Air." Excellent. If you love birds, you will love this movie.

If you feel like older generations are precious, you should watch this movie. If you need a good cry, you should watch this movie. I did not expect what unfolded and I was pleasantly surprised. I would watch this as a series it was so lovely. I am sharing with everyone I know.

Thank you.
