Expats

Very well filming and an amazing plot
I'm really surprised by the comments I rode, I love that series so far (3 episodes). Yes it is slow, but not to much, I can't figured what will happen, and the directing and the photo are amazing. The city of Hong Kong is clearly a character of that série. We can feel the air, the flavors, we can smell the food : the director really knows what she is filming. The characters can be unfriendly and that is what makes the feelings so real! The characters are full of doubt and contradictions that make so many moment embarrassing and weird but in a beautiful way. The sound is also great, nothing is left to chance. I want more!!

The Last of Us: When We Are in Need
(2023)
Episode 8, Season 1

Desappointed
Very slow but not in a good way. I like the show but this is a little bit too much for me. Or not enough. There is beautiful landscapes but the storyline is too thin. I don't know if it's the same thing in the video game but this is not enough. Nobody is Kelly Reichardt. If you want to film slowly you have to be careful at the nature, the animals, the forest. Not just a beautiful pictures of trees sometimes. It seems very lazy actually. The new characters are just bad. The episodes before did some efforts and gave some complexity to the wicked ones. And again a crazy churchman, nothing more original?

Désordres

Light and shadow
Very surprising show between happiness and deep dark thoughts. The rhythm find his way after some episodes but the directing and the cast are perfect!

Laurence Foresti doesn't fall into the traps of the classical romantic comedies but she offers an overview of what can be a creative life (specifically a stand upper life) with the up and down and an uncompromising view about big existential questions such as : death, depression, anguish, loneliness, parenthood or love. Everyone can recognize himself in this show that brings us to ask us some deep questions but that gives us some appearances of light at the end.

Killing Eve
(2018)

Only the first 3 episodes
Honestly the first 3 episodes was very promising and then... they lost me : too much, too quick, too predictable. Sandra Oh is great but Jodie Comer not as good as I thought.
