Boiling Point
(2021)

Better than Shrek
Anyone who has worked in hospitality will recognise the characters found in this kitchen.

Everyone makes a big deal out of filming in one take, usually this is just some pretensious gimic but in boiling point you kinda forget that it's happening. I would go further and say it actually adds to the atmosphere by showing the continuous and chaotic nature of the hospitality industry.

Don't be surprised when you can't find a traditional story line, instead the film shows multiple sub plots beautifully woven together.

Good acting overall with exceptional performance from Jason Fleming playing a in dept restronteur TV chef.

Highly recommend, for viewers seeking authentic everyday story telling.

It is better than shrek.

Dallas Buyers Club
(2013)

Gritty pretty and gay
(No spoilers) The good: This film does a pretty good job of showing the AIDS struggle.

It also pretty good at showing the real attitudes and prejudices of blue collar America without being condescending and generalised.

It's gripping, shocking, and real, you probably won't be able to take your eyes of the screen.

The bad:

The main character is a straight bull rider. Considering the main plot is about AIDS, for me,they didn't do a good enough job at showing the struggle of the gay community. I imagine this was done intentionally as gay films won't do as well at the box office. Although stories where straight men catch aids do exist there are magnitudes more effected by the desiese who are gay. As the film goes on this does get better and more focused on the gay community. Overall its just a little bizzare that Hollywood managed to make a film about AIDS in the 80s and still show the struggle of a straight guy.

The ugly:

Contains the Nword, contains the Fword and hate. I wouldn't show this film to kids.

Overall: Well worth a watch and falls into the category of enigma code and brokeback Mountain.

If your looking for something better but gayer, watch gods own country instead. If your not that arsed about the gay side, watch this you won't regret it.

Seaspiracy
(2021)

Phat load of Contradictions and entitlement
This guys comes across as rude, a little privileged, culturally insensitive and definitely bias. Highlights phat issues, but never argues the counter points. The title kinda sets the mood for the rest of the film. It's not a pun It's just two words jammed together. Makes you sound seaupid, AND conspirasea was right there for the taking...

In the Company of Women
(2015)

Charlie bit me, and it hurt!
This film is mildly amusing at best. Very much a laughing at you not with you situation. The whole premise is unrealistic and far-fetched. To some this could be charming but to most, its agony. Lot's of rambling, like having a conversation with someone who has early onset dementia. Wooden acting. Overall strange, worth the watch but impossible to take seriously.
