Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 for Murder
(2024)

Very entertaining. Great cast.
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The banter between Chris McNally and Holland Rosen was wonderful. They played off each other very well. Very funny together.

The premise was great. I've always loved Chris in everything he's ever done, and this movie was no exception. How could you not love him? He's adorable and a very talented actor. Holland was positively charming. Loved her character. Jill Teed as the Captain was great. Cardi Wong as Officer Tran was also good.

I can definitely see this becoming a series. It was that good. Hopefully Hallmark is listening. The movie was trending on X most of the evening.

When Calls the Heart: When Stars Align
(2024)
Episode 1, Season 11

Cliffhanger resolved or was it?
The episode opens with Lucas in the headlights and we hear two shots. But, he has amnesia and doesn't know who shot him. Elizabeth and Bill travel to CC to be with him. He makes a remarkable recovery. Loved that he was able to see little Jack. Fast forward 4 months. Nathan returns from his investigation of the shooting. He and Bill both have questions. It just seemed too easy. I'm sure there's more to the story and I'm anxious to find out. Elizabeth decides to cut her hair because she feels a change in herself. The sad part about that is that we find out Fiona is gone. Rosemary ends up cutting her hair. She shows up at the saloon just before Lucas's speech to unveil it. Everyone loves it, especially Nathan who terms it "great." Faith is saddened by Fiona leaving. She tells Minnie she's lonely. Enter the cutest little girl Lily. Her grandma is in hospital and asks Faith to watch over her. I am so looking forward to this adorable story. There was a lot to like in the episode. Lee and RM navigate parenthood. Mike and Mei discover they really like each other. Nathan and Elizabeth haven't really had much time yet. I'm sure that's coming.

When Calls the Heart: Starry Nights
(2023)
Episode 12, Season 10

Very disappointing
The new showrunner has completely retcon'd the storyline and ignored the previous narrative from S8&9. It's like they never happened. I realize this is supposed to be Elizabeth's story, but the nonchalant way the whole town reacted to the break up was disturbing. In addition, Elizabeth let her students believe that Lucas was the one who did the breakup. Not true. So many characters are portrayed differently than last season, especially Elizabeth. Lucas is portrayed as clueless about what's going on, but he sacrifices his own happiness to save the town that now couldn't care less about him. Heartbreaking end. So it seems that the story will go back to the Mountie. Talk about regressing. The one bright spot was Henry's story. That was beautiful. During the baptism, Joseph welcomed the new baby into the community, but I guess Lucas had to be discarded in order to do that.

Christmas Bedtime Stories
(2022)

Unbelievable ending
I really wanted to like this movie. Erin Cahill and Steve Lund were good, but the script was awful. The attention to military detail was lacking. Was Colby a Major or a Captain? The General was not even aware of the most important detail. How he didn't know one of his men was alive was beyond me. I felt so bad for Pierce. He loved her and her daughter so much. The flashback scenes were probably the best part of the movie. The ending happened so quickly and was not believable at all. How you wrap up a movie in the last five minutes is just silly. Will not be rewatching this. I gave it 3 stars for just Erin and Steve.

My Grown-Up Christmas List
(2022)

I liked this movie, but didn't love it
The idea for the movie was very good, showing how difficult it is to have a relationship when one person is military. I couldn't figure out how or when they fell in love considering they were never together. The military aspect was really off. Kevin's hair was too long and his dress uniform was all wrong. Also, no civilian would have been allowed on a secret base, ever. They should have had a better military advisor. Kevin and Kayla have obvious chemistry as they are a couple off screen. Kayla carried the movie. I really wanted to love it, but it came up a little short.

When Calls the Heart: Rock, A Bye, Baby
(2022)
Episode 12, Season 9

Best finale ever
This season's finale was the best one ever. Extremely well written and performed. A redemption story for Henry. Martin Cummins' performance was so good. Finally, a baby for Rosemary and Lee. Pascale and Kavan played it so well. It was both funny and uplifting. Elizabeth and Lucas are engaged and the proposal scene was perfect. Lucas asking first to be a father to little Jack was very touching and beautiful. Erin and Chris were so good. Nathan and Lucas scene in the woods was the beginning of a great friendship. Chris and Kevin are great friends off screen as well and the banter between them was very funny. It's quite sad to read some of the negative comments on this site. A small group of people who purposely down rate the show because they don't like a particular couple. Really sad.

When Calls the Heart: Turn of the Page
(2022)
Episode 3, Season 9

Brilliantly written
This episode was filled with love, humor, community...everything you could want. The writers subtly addressed the nastiness from some quarters with the reviews of Elizabeth's book. Heartwarming scene between Joseph and Cooper was a highlight as well. The interaction between Nathan, Mei and Newton showed how injury can affect both man and animal. I'm thoroughly enjoying this season and can't wait to see what happens next.
