Scream VI
(2023)

Darker. Gorier. Much More Screams
I had once thought that Scream 5 was the best one in the series since the first one. That all changed once I saw this movie. I do believe that this SCREAM film is tied for the best one in the franchise with the first. From the get go, you were exposed to a unique twist that set the tone for the remainder of the movie.

The characters were all pretty good, only one I didn't care for much was Anika but that was due to the fact that she was killed pretty early. Which leads me to my next point...

The kills were all BRUTAL. Gave me Halloween Kills vibes. BUT, I wish they would've killed off some of the bigger characters like Gale, Mindy, and Chad (all of them were fake outs). There were characters that were killed that had little to do with the plot (customers in small store, psychiatrist) and then there were the other characters who actually had names (Jason, Laura, Quinn, Ethan, Detective Bailey, Jason roommate, Quinn lover, and Anika). A lot of fake outs but who knows, it could be a bigger slaughter in the next film

You can tell they are building up to something story wise with these movies. Billy could be setting up Sam to be the next slasher. Could Stu return? Will Sidney and Kincaid return in the next film? So many possibilities.

An amazing game. Although I only wish one thing.
This is a stellar creation. I was hooked constantly throughout the game. The cast was great, the soundtrack was very fitting, and the setting was beautiful as it was eerie.

This is seriously the best horror game I have ever played.

However, I just have one thorn in my side from this game, and that would be the general ending. From my experience and others online, it seemed as if the ending was abrupt, no matter how it ends.

It felt like there was little to no payoff. We never got to see any survivors interact after the night was over but instead had to watch the credits to see a quick sentence on whether they survived or not, which was already something we knew.

Don't get me wrong, the credits and the podcast at the end was great, but I only wish we could have gotten more closure with these characters. I felt very unaccomplished.

Stop Boycotting This Film
First off, I love Johnny Depp and I do not believe he should have been terminated from this franchise. Now, this does not give ANYONE an excuse to deliberately watch this film fail. I say this because this is not a one man show, every actor and actress gave their hard efforts to work on this film.

The movie itself is a breath of fresh air. While the other two films felt a bit claustrophobic, this film has beautiful cinematography and more importantly, a beautiful tale. I truly felt engaged in this movie and there were many times where I chuckled and smiled. How can you sit and say that this film delivers no magic?

I truly hope that they decide to green light the next two films. If they head in the same direction that they chose with this film, the sequels will be amazing.

The Best Chapter Since '96
This was a very fun ride. I was SO close to just looking at spoiler reviews on YouTube because I usually do, but this was gonna be my first SCREAM movie in theaters so I figured I would save myself, and I am so glad I did. This is personally my favorite entry in the franchise. It had comedy that fit so well and actually got a reaction out of me. The kills were very eerie, although I heard they were gonna be more creative but it's whatever! They were still brutal.

My only issue however is I found it somewhat easy to spot the killer as the movie went on. The killers were revealed to be Richie and Amber. Richie I saw coming from a mile away but Amber was a jump scare reveal which I loved. My original predictions were Wes and Richie, 1 out of 2 ain't bad. I also LOVED well they reached back to the original roots! Showing a ghost Billy Loomis and revealing Sam to be his bastard daughter was a genuine surprise.

However, the only thing that felt rushed overall was the identity and death of Vince. He had MAYBE about 2 minutes of screen time and what sucks about that is he was later revealed to be the nephew of Stu Macher! Like come on! That could've been used as a huge plot point than what it was. But overall, this was a great film. There were so many points in the film that make you sad, scared, and even relieved. I really hope this is the finale because that would be the way to go.

Big things lie ahead
I honestly have no idea why this film is being bashed. No clue. It has the action of course, comedy that works, character development that covers all characters, a LOT of emotions, and sets up so much to look forward to. The cast is phenomenal, they all work off of each other so well and that is good when it comes to a big cast. The stakes gradually rise as the true plot builds itself and all is revealed so by the time the 3rd act comes and all cards are on the table, you feel it all. The ending itself is something Marvel hasn't quite pulled before and it was quite nice, definitely sets up a huge plot element for the possible sequel.

I won't say much about the end credit scenes, but I will say that they mean a lot in terms of expansion in the MCU and introduce key characters.

You can tell that Marvel is changing its formula and it panned out very well here. This experience will definitely have audiences excited for No Way Home's experience.
