For those who do not get why Max is still alive!!!

Max being in coma (or somewhere in between life and death) blocked the curse of Vecna. That's why two worlds did not merge totally. 11 could not enter her memories and worried through the end scenes..

So there is a script behind Max's story. Writers did not let her die for emotional reasons obviously.
