The Iranian series Jan Sakht is a leftover from last year for me! That is, I started this series last year and managed to catch up with the aired episodes during Ramadan. I first heard about it on Ehsan Mansouri's page, and that's where I decided to watch it.
Like many other Iranian films and series, this one had an exciting and promising start, but it quickly declined-right from the early episodes-proving that we shouldn't expect a truly good show from it.
At some point, even though I kept watching, I didn't like it anymore. I was just following it to avoid leaving an open case in my mind. The biggest reason I didn't enjoy Jan Sakht was its repetitive, predictable, and sinusoidal pattern in every episode.
The entire series followed this cycle:
A good thing would happen to solve Farzad's problem everyone would celebrate.
The next episode, everything would fall apart.
The third episode would split into two halves-the first half being sadness over their failure, and the second half setting up the next "good thing" to happen.
Overall, I didn't like Jan Sakht because if you watched the first episode and then skipped to the 15th, you wouldn't miss anything. I give this series 4.5/10 and suggest you don't bother watching it.

This short description alone shows that not only am I not a professional movie buff, I'm not even an amateur anime fan! Yet, despite that, I fell in love with Sakamoto's world. A man who was once a professional assassin. He fell in love, and at his wife's request, he left his profession, abandoned his comrades and homeland, and now makes a living running a supermarket to support his wife and child!
The anime's story begins when Sakamoto's old friends aren't happy with his decision and decide that since Sakamoto has strayed from the path, they might as well take him out of this world :) And now, here we are, witnessing Sakamoto's incredible power!
This series had many connecting points for me-so much so that I wrote two LinkedIn posts inspired by it.
Sakamoto being a family man, attracting people instead of pushing them away, protecting his home, and perhaps most importantly, creating a cozy little corner called Sakamoto's Supermarket for life and livelihood (something I've been struggling with for a long time) were all things that made me fall in love with this anime's world.
Season 1 of this series ended with 11 episodes and has been renewed for more seasons. Each episode is about half an hour long..
I personally watched Sakamoto Days with great enthusiasm and would rate it 8/10, even though it has a 7.4/10 on IMDb. I highly recommend watching it for the charm of Sakamoto's world, its flowing humor, and the delightful characters-even if you're not an anime fan like me!

Look, I've got zero problems with movies that don't take themselves seriously and just want to be dumb fun. Hell, sometimes I'm exactly the target audience for that kind of stuff. But my big issue with Hollywood these days? These movies can't even get the "fun" part right - they're just straight-up garbage!
Sonic used to remind me of those childhood days when I'd get tired of playing Mario and wanted something new. I was genuinely excited for this movie. But just like Hollywood ruined all our other childhood heroes (looking at you, Snow White), they messed up Sonic too!
I'm giving Sonic the Hedgehog 3 a 5.5/10 for its terrible script, boring plot, and complete lack of entertainment value - and that's being generous considering its 6.9 IMDb score. Honestly? I hated it. Save your time and skip this one.
