Bread Barbershop
(2020)

Pleasantly surprised
I literally put this on to pass the time as background sound and fell in love with it. The characters are well animated and so cute. Reminds me of SpongeBob but it has its own appeal. Love Mr Wilk, he's adorable and so confused. I fully recommend for adults and kids. Too cute.

Nobody's Fool
(2018)

Pointless , lacklustre and cringeworthy
I only gave this two stars because of Whoopi and she did not even have much to work with. As usual Tyler Perry's characters are one dimensional and unrealistic. Love Tika Sumpter but her character was too shallow and there's no growth to the end, she just gets her way. Tiffany Haddish was too much and again one dimensional. Just crass with no motives and there was no bonding between the sisters. She doesn't have to necessarily learn a lesson or change but she remains stagnant and a typical archetype. Frank was the most unrealistic character, Tanya was mean and abusive to him and he just took it.

Tyler Perry needs to get a team of creatives because the one man show fails to intrigue anymore. Two heads are better than one, Mr Perry.

V.C. Andrews' Landry Family: Ruby
(2021)
Episode 1, Season 1

Terrible!
I did not expect much so I guess I wasn't disappointed. The casting was awful and so was the acting, The plot was a bit much even though it's based on a novel. The actors look too old then too young as the series progresses.

Midnight at the Magnolia
(2020)

Not very good but watchable
I love Christmas romance movies and the childhood friends falling in love theme makes it my type of movie. This one however is not well executed. The characters have no chemistry whatsoever and it's hard to believe that they are best friends. The male actor deserves some credit but the script is wooden. The song at the end was nice and the proposal scene but those still couldn't save this. Watch if you're bored.

My Husband's Secret Wife
(2018)

Really awful plot
This movie started with some promise well as much promise as there can be in a Lifetime movie. The plot killed this movie, it made no sense. Adoption and fostering are options. Who does what they planned? Sigh, this could have been better. The child too had no input save a few lines. Was he supposed to be about i year old ? He just seemed clueless and could have been better used. Awful all round.

Great series
I have watched a few Korean dramas in the past and they have been fine. This one however is endearing and well put together. The main actors have good chemistry and do a splendid job. The supporting actors are great too and well defined too. This is storytelling at its best. Watched every episode hoping for more. Hoping there's a season 2 because I'll really miss this series. Well done and thanks Netflix!

Le Bazar de la Charité
(2019)

Good watch
Stumbled upon this series by accident whilst choosing something to watch on Netflix. Kept my attention throughout! Good performances, good storyline. Binged watch all 8 episodes in one day. I recommend it.

Overboard
(2018)

Solid remake.
Passed on this movie because of the bad reviews. Watched it tonight because I had the time and the movie was watchable. The characters grew on you and the actors did their part. The original movie was very well done but this updated version is fun too. Not into everything PC but I loved the gender reversal, the diversity and the Spanish/ Mexican influence.

The Oval
(2019)

Really awful!
Had high hopes for this but this ain't it Tyler Perry. The characters are over the top, the acting robotic and soap operaish. It's too much. Poor character development, everyone needs therapy or intervention. DO better TP.

Men in Black: International
(2019)

Good movie, great addition to the franchise
I'll be the first to say that I was concerned when I heard of this incarnation of MIB as the previous trilogy worked so well. This was a fresh approach to a successful concept. There were some slow moments in the beginning I admit that didn't quite fit in but overall the acting, plot and special effects were good. Go see it with an open mind and this movie stands up solidly with the rest of the franchise.

Little
(2019)

Average at best
The trailer for this movie was the best part of this movie. This just didn't work though the acting was good enough. It just was not funny and felt disjointed. No flow at all. The moral of the movie was good but it was hard to root for any of the characters. The plot was too paper thin and one dimensional. The lead character was just too mean at times. Could have been on Netflix or made for television. Will continue to support black led movies but this should not have been greenlighted. This formula was too easy to fail at (see Big, 13 going on 30. Sigh.
