Scream VI
(2023)

What's next ? Ghostface in space?
I felt kind of offended when they insulted people that use Letterboxd.

The other problem that I had was that the concept of the Scream movies is overused and because of that the last two movies are predictable trash. The title "New York. New Rules" doesn't fit because there are no new rules it's still the same, there are 2/3 Ghostface killer most of the time, one of them is always a "friend" from the protagonist and the other one is a character from the outside which we barely see until the very end. This works for the first few movies of the franchise but it got stale fast and the result was that my friend and I guessed the identity, motive and even the relationship that the killer has to the protagonist half way trough the movie which is a bummer. Some character decisions in the final showdown are also really questionable, to say the least. But Scream 6 is not all bad, I think it's way better than Scream 5. The opening scene was cool and that there is a character who is watching Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan in a Scream movie which takes place in New York. I liked how they worked with the lightning in the scene with Ghostface in the subway, the cinematography of this scene was great. Sadly besides that Scream 6 doesn't really takes advantage of the new setting and the kills are also nothing special. I don't know why everyone is saying the kills are particularly gory. Not a single one stood out to me and there are many movies that are a lot bloodier.

So what's left? Another entry in the franchise that doesn't uses the New York setting and has no own ideas. But at least Jenna Ortega was great but sadly the ending not so much, again...I think it's about time that they sent Ghostface into space.

Scorn
(2022)

Visually absolutely stunning
Scorn is an atmospheric survival horror puzzle game heavily inspired by the artist HR Giger. Though it's marketed as a horror game, it isn't really scary but even more disgusting, it really celebrates the gore and does not hold back.

I'm such a huge fan of the work from HR Giger and his work, the Xenomorph especially. Everyone who knows me, knows that Alien is my favorite horror movie and Alien Isolation my favorite horror game. So obviously I was really excited when this game was announced all the way back in 2014 and I've been following the development ever since. Scorn had a lot of pumps in the road including a failed Kickstarter campaign. I didn't watch much gameplay because I didn't want to spoil the myself the mystery which surrounds the world of Scorn. My expectations were quite high after that demo but also knew that Scorn won't be your typical horror shooter.

So the question is did Scorn fulfill my expectation?

Yes and no, Scorn is a massive work of art with impressive images and a really great atmosphere but it's not really a great game and yet one of the most interesting gaming experiences of this year. Scorn has no dialogues and no text, the story is experienced entirely via environmental storytelling and much like the world of Little Nightmares it's more show than tell and leaves the story up to the players for interpretation. Gameplay wise it is rather shallow. You have the typical weapons like a grenade launcher, shotgun and a pistole. But the fights and shooter elements are the biggest weakness of Scorn. They are slow, sluggish, really frustrating.

And boring. But you can avoid most of the enemies. The boss fight is the climax of the boring shooter parts of the game and the worst boss fight I experienced in a long time.

Same Boss fight twice. When you look past the boring shooter elements you notice that Scorn is absolutely beautiful and the art design is stunning. Technically, Scorn makes a really good impression. I had no performance problems, I had to replay a chapter only once because I fell into the abyss and my character was stuck there. The puzzle are okay, some are a little bit too easy and some are really frustrating. The stunning world and art design and the great atmosphere are the strength of Scorn, the animation are also really good and I enjoyed the way they told the story and that it was more show than tell. I can understand if some people find this game boring but it doesn't deserve the hate. If you are a fan of HR Giger and like atmospheric horror puzzle games with an interesting way to tell the story, then you should maybe try this game.

Prey
(2022)

If it bleeds, we can kill it.
Why did it take so long to make a great Predator movie like this?

Trachtenberg understands what made the first film such a classic and created a very necessary back to basics take on a franchise that had lost its way and it's for sure the best Predator sequel/prequel since the original. There are many gruesome deaths that will satisfy all fans and the effects are also really good. I like the setting a lot and it's very unique. I love that it's show don't tell, for example naru notice how something works like the helmet or this pit she falls in and later in the movie she uses these things for her advantage. You also see that the Predator not only hunts humans but other creatures as well like we saw in the second Predator movie with the trophy wall. It's probably a coincidence but I find it funny that the Alien movies always had a Cat and Prey now has a dog. Maybe it should reflect the two different fan bases and that we can like both Cat and Dog or in that Case, Alien and Predator movies. One of the best movies this year and also one of the best Predator movies.

Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel
(2022)

Surprisingly good game inspired by Resident Evil etc
This game needs way more recognition. It's a beautifully crafted survival horror, more focused on puzzles and exploration and the game makes the player actually analyze the environment, making it really engaging. It has Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 Remake as a core inspiration but still manages to have a personality and takes inspiration from various games such as Silent Hill.

The puzzles are nice, fun and satisfying. Same goes for the atmosphere it's actually really good.

The graphics are nothing special but surprisingly good for an Indie game. The story ist interesting and the voice-acting (the english one at least) is good but also a little bit cheesy.

There isn't a great variety of enemies and they are not that smart tbh but it's fine for what it is.

There is also a lot of backtracking, the game relies heavily on it. But I personally think that's part of the "Resi-like" experience.

Thor: Love and Thunder
(2022)

We come Back with children, many children. Then we eat, Not the children. Dark times , shameful times, we don't do this anymore.
What's the best way to describe this movie ? Maybe screaming goats or Stormbreakers jealousy ?

I had so much fun watching this movie, they bombard you with jokes. Christian Bale's perfomance is amazing and Gorr the God Butcher is such a good villian. You understand his motivation and why he's doing what he does. One of the best mcu villians ever, all the way up there with Thanos. But only 4/5 stars because of false advertising regarding the GotG. Basically if you saw the trailer, you saw everything of the Guardians in this movie. I mean I was expecting that but still disappointing.

Also can we get a spin-off movie or Disney+ Show for Bao god of dumplings and this weird head with feets. Please, Mr. Feige please do it.

Supernatural
(2005)

Rather a loveletter than a review
After another rewatch I think I'm ready to review it. But this is rather a loveletter than a review and it's a hard one for me because I love this show, the characters and actors so much.

My cousin introduced me to this when a show called "Grimm" was cancelled, which also is one of my favorite shows but don't get me started on this.

Dean & Sam Winchester, Castiel, Crowley and Bobby are among my favorite characters ever created. Supernatural got me through some tough times and that's why I will be forever grateful for this show and the actors.

I just love Season 1-5 and yes, I know that there are also some "weaker" Seasons but at no point they are really "bad" because the characters are so well written that it's just enough to see Sam and Dean hunting to keep this show going and entertaining. The lessons work both on and off screen and the storylines keep you hooked.

There are so many episodes that are so emotional and so often made me cry.

But I also love the "filler episode" like Mystery Spot, Yellow Fewer, Changing Channels and ScoobyNatural and so on.

I really adore the dark vibe from Season 1-5.

Regarding the last Episode I get that it doesn't work for some people but for me it did.

That does not mean it was easy for me. I cried the whole episode and could not really talk about it for a while.

No doubt - endings are hard. But then again... nothing ever really ends, does it?

Die schlechtesten Filme aller Zeiten
(2013)

Who's bad?
Not a big fan of german tv shows but this is the best thing ever. Peter Rütter and Oliver Kalkofe made it possible to watch this horrible movies.

So funny that they really made it into a sharknados movie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi
(2022)

Wasted potential
Oh boy this is bad on every level. The acting(ewan mcgregor not included), the CGI, the story, if you can call it a story because there isn't one, everything is just awful. There are so many scenes that don't make sense where the characters are just acting so stupid that want to bang my head against a wall and get eaten by an Ewok.

It's just sad to see how good the mandalorian is compared to this and how good this could have been. It's just wasted potential and the fans deserve better.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
(2003)

Samwise Gamgee is MVP
"Come, Mr. Frodo! 'I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you"

Whenever someone ask me what's your favourite scene from any movie. I always show them this scene. It just shows the power of friendship and that we all need to be a little bit more like Samwise Gamgee.

Really wish a had a friend like that in my life.

Walking with Dinosaurs
(1999)

Just amazing
I remember how my grandpa recorded it on a VHS tape and every time when I visited him, we watched it together. That's why I always associate it with eternal happiness.

I know that paleontologically not everything is accurate but it hasn't aged that bad. The CGI and practical effects are still really good for it's time and Kenneth Branagh as narrator is just amazing. This was my childhood.

If you remeber this, let me tell you. You are amazing, I love you!

The Batman
(2022)

Detective Batman and Robert Pattinson at it's best
I love the dark, horror like vibe of it. The Soundtrack also fits perfectly and if I have to name a bad thing, trust me it's hard to find one. The movie could be a little bit shorter. But all in all a masterpiece!

Everything Everywhere All at Once
(2022)

I was blown away by the creativity of this movie.
It's hard to describe this movie because it's so over the top and weird. But I really like that. It's also so interesting, colorful and creative, funny and in some moments even sad. It really makes you think.

Never would have thought that a dialogue between two freaking stones could be so emotional.

I Want to see the "Raccacoonie Movie" so much.

Elden Ring
(2022)

No words can describe this game
This was my first Souls Game, so I'm pretty much a noob regarding that but I finished it and I also got the platinum trophy for it. The game just blew my mind. The Openworld is so detailed and alive. In every corner is something to explore but also always something that wants to kill you. The lore/story is so interesting and well thought out. Everywhere you can find pieces of it and put it together like a puzzle. The Boss-fights are so intense and fun. One of the best gaming experiences of the last few years.

The Quarry
(2022)

Almost as good as Until Dawn
Played it two times now. The first time with two Friends via Couch-Coop and let me tell you, that's the best way to play it. The monster-design is a little bit disappointing and feels like they reused the wendigo design from Until Dawn and changed it a little bit. The characters are so well written and the story is gripping. We had such a blast unraveling the mystery of what happened and what kind of monster is hunting you.

Also Kaitlyn is best girl!

Jurassic World Dominion
(2022)

Messy story but cool dinosaurs and characters
Look I know the plot of this movie is all over the place but tbh. I really liked and enjoyed it. Jurassic Park was my childhood, I've watched it so many times and seeing the OG Cast finally back on the big screen made me soo happy. Also I'm a huge Dino-Nerd, so I'm maybe a little bit biased.

I really liked that some lesser known or non mainstream "dinos" got the spotlight. The chemistry between the old and new cast worked great. There are many shots/scenes which are really cinematic and look absolutely gorgeous.

Overall story/plot is okay but messy, great cast and chemistry, cool dinosaurs that usually don't get enough spotlight, some really cool looking scenes which I would love to have as a wallpaper and lots of fanservice and callbacks to the old movies.

Alan Wake Remastered
(2021)

Alan Wack
Story and atmosphere both are great. The gameplay and controls not so much, especially on the harder difficulties it gets really frustrating

Thats why my Friend and I call it "Alan Wack"

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
(2021)

Story, Characters and soundtrack are amazing
The story, characters and soundtrack are amazing. I love the characters even more than the movie-version though i love the movies too. I was so invested in the story and the characters. It's worth every penny.
