Ms. Marvel
(2022)

Give it a chance
Sure it is not the best thing ever..but after Secret Invasion I wanted to watch something a bit more cheerful, and Ms Marvel definitely delivered.

Although the story is not so original, and I think it focuses a bit too much on history events, the main cast is very likeable, and Ms Marvel's persona is a joy to watch.

With Marvels coming out,I think if you are an mcu fan,you should watch this, when it came out I was not interested, figured it would not be for a 32 year old caucasian male, but it really put me in a good mood.

Next I will try to check out She Hulk, but I feel like I will really have to go in with a open mind to that one..

Secret Invasion
(2023)

Do better Marvel please
I had some hope during the first three episodes, although not much happened, but it felt like we were going somewhere, but nope, only three 30 minute episodes left, and thats it.

This honestly felt like someone dropped two wholly different scripts on the floor, then picked up a third if it,and shot that with the actors. Apparently if the rumours are true, this show had a lot of behind the scenes trouble.

So much is wrong here, but the biggest problem(again!)is writing. No sensible plot to be found here, almost everything is so insulting to the intelligence, especially in the second """ half""" of the season, that it makes you cringe.

As an mcu fan, you feel a sort of obligation to watch every canon piece of content, even if it is not up to par,but a line must be drawn, and I would draw it here.

So much bad writing, would take too long to list, but here's my "favourite": as Nick(yes Nick cause Fury this is not) retrieves the avengers dna,he contemplates that we cant rely on heroes to save us.. Next thing he does :D he gives that thing to a woman who was still working with an enemy 10 minutes ago,in order to make a hero that can save us :D I am sorry but a kindergartener could smell that does not make much sense.

Do better Disney, hire better writers, pay them well!

We lost Maria Hill and Talos(played by the great Ben Mendelsohn) for this garbage?

And dont get me started on even entertaining the stupid idea that Rhodes was replaced before Endgame, its a rather desperate attempt from the director to put significance where there is none. Do better Marvel, please.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 24: The Return
(2023)
Episode 8, Season 3

Underwhelming finale to an underwhelming season
I'll say this, Grogu creating the force field scene was great.. Some cgi were great, and it was a very 'safe' watch if thats what you are looking for.

That is about all of the positives I can say about this, as an older fan of Star Wars, I felt numb during this episode.

I guess endless, mindless pewpew just not doing it for me anymore. Also nausea inducing camera work, shoddy writing, no-stakes plot, endless deus ex machinas, not doing it for me anymore.

Two(three) seasons of buildup of Grogu, cloning, Gideon, all solved extremely easily and quickly(literally a push of a button),like gogogo dont let them think about how nothing makes sense, gave me rise of skywalker vibes(not a good thing).

Everything and I mean everything was solved in the safest, boringest way possible, nothing happened that would make me say hmm I did not expect that.

I was at least hoping for some tease for future projects, but not even that.

Should have ended at season 2, then just have Din and Grogu show up occassionally in other projects.

Very disappointing.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 22: Guns for Hire
(2023)
Episode 6, Season 3

Worst episode of the series yet
Nonsensical filler plot, cringy dialogue, distracting Jack Black. It was good to see Doc in Star Wars,I will admit that, but a gimmick episode at this point in an 8 episode season..

Last episode teased a lot, this was just disappointing.

Din just hands over the darksaber, I guess that plot point is done.

This whole thing starting to look like Jon Snow simping for Dany.

Din actually became a puppet in his own show, and development for Grogu seems to be reverted to baby yoda status.

Very very disappointing season so far, only highlight was the previous episode.

Star Wars can be dumb fun at times, but this was simply dumb. The whole thing reeks of corporate involvement, like the writers are forced to write things that does not make sense, to appeal to ...who exactly?

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part III
(2022)
Episode 3, Season 1

Epic for the eyes, but the writing has me scratching my head
How can they make an episode where Obi and Vader facing off leave a sour taste is beyond me. There's just some things missing, some things off,you just don't really feel that star wars magic.

Good: Ewan can act, he proved that already, he's a highlight, just like in the prequels.

Vader is terrifying, they really demonstrated again that he is a villain to be feared.

Vivien Lyra Blair is believeable as young Leia, I think she does a fine job, and she has some sweet and somber scenes with Ewan.

Bad:The thing is most of the good is undermined by the questionable writing, plot, editing and strangely generic music.

The plot holes are so wide, no need to recap them, just take 5 minutes to think about why x character did y and how they end up from a to b.

About the music, I certainly dont expect them to use imperial march every time vader is on screen.. But not a single time like 2 jingles of the theme? Very strange. I fully expect someone will make a cut of the final 10 minutes with proper music, and no janky editing, and this will be an 8 out of 10.
