Killing Season
(2013)

Not their best but still a good movie.
I think the problem with this film is the actors are always placed on a extremely high pedestal and any slip up or under par performance and they are shot to bits. I definitely agree with people when they say this film wasn't a 10 star blockbuster but also disagree with the ratings of 3 or below. I believe De Niro and Travolta performed as well as they could with the script that was provided.

Nicolas Cage was to be Benjamin Ford originally but was replaced by De Niro, I think i would have expected Cage to lower the standard of this movie a lot if he actually was cast in the end.

One of the main criticisms of the film was Travoltas accent. I mean it could have been a lot worse but it still was noticeable. I think casting a actor with a genuine accent would have been the smartest bet. After all De Niro would have been all it took for me to watch this without Travolta in it at all.

I'm not familiar with the war at all so can't comment on any of the accuracy of it or any faults they have with it.

The main part of the movie with the cat and mouse chase through the woodland around Benjamin Fords home was very suspenseful not know what the outcome of there very own war of revenge. The couple of torture scenes may be hard to watch by some people as they are quite graphic. Apart from the accent issue i enjoyed the movie. The story was there and the actors defiantly were. Maybe the script could have done with slight tweaking but if you can overlook that then you will enjoy it. 5.5/10

Identity Thief
(2013)

Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
This film isn't half as bad as some of the reviews and boards suggest. Yes it is full of cliché after cliché and doesn't really bring anything new to the comedy genre but that still doesn't make it a poor watch. Although it wasn't the funniest film i have seen it still had me laughing out loud at some of the one liners and at some of the more physical side of comedy.

So what if the story is mostly predictable and you can see a mile away where its heading. There are a couple of movies that can be compared to this. The main being Planes, Trains & Automobiles and the other being Due Date. The consist of a cross country trip with things not going exactly to plan. This is the case for Identity Thief as well.

Diana played by Melissa McCarthy is a outrageous person who lives her life by stealing from others by using their credit and social security details. After targeting her next victim Sandy Patterson (Jason Bateman) things don't turn out as expected for Diana when Sandy takes it upon himself to bring her to justice in a cross country trip. As they spend more time together they understand each other better and develop a slightly odd relationship.

If you liked Planes, Trains & Automobiles then you will enjoy this. Overall it was a good film worth a watch and i definitely would recommend this film to basically anyone who enjoys above par comedies.

Bailout: The Age of Greed
(2013)

Better than expected.
Not a bad movie at all. I was surprised as most people writing reviews and commenting on the boards who were going into this film with very little or without any expectations at all.

It started rather slow and with no stand out scenes in the first 30 minutes or so whilst the plot and characters were being established. If it wasn't for pretty decent performances from the main stars then I don't think I would have made it past the 30 minute mark. Thankfully I kept watching and as the story progressed I found myself becoming more engaged.

I felt the politics and financial information was explained in just the right detail for someone who isn't aware of what goes on in Wall Street.

Jim Baxford (Dominic Purcell) who is a loyal and caring husband of Rosie Baxford (Erin Karpluk) finds himself pushed over the edge as he loses things closest to him due to financial investments gone wrong. He seeks revenge on those responsible using his ex military skills.

Co stars Edward Furlong, Keith David and Michael Paré play Jims buddies and try and help him out best they can even if it comes to turning a blind eye when things start to take a serious turn.

Overall i think Uwe Boll has actually broke his streak of bad movies and delivered a decent movies, so don't write him off just yet and give this a watch. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. 6.5/10

Dorm of the Dead
(2006)

Terrible
This is one of the worst low budget movies I have ever seen. The acting is terrible and some of the effects are even worse. Also where is the story line????? The soundtrack however is quite good as the opening song was amazing. However some songs didn't fit the scene very well. Most of the sound effects were repeated.

If you like nude college girls this is definitely the movie for you.

There is a classroom scene which looks like it has been shot in three different locations that have all been thrown into one.

Overall i rate this move very very poor. It comes no where near other zombie films like "Dawn Of The Dead" or "Land Of The Dead".
