In the Land of Saints & Sinners
(2023)

More holes in the plot than an assassin's victim!
Slow melancholic movie blending the slow life of an Irish rural community with a murderous gang on the run and hiding out in a shed whilst making complicated bombs.

Leeson is an assassin who sells books for a living but to who, no one knows. This is a community that knows how long everyone's toe nails grow in a week but still they know nothing of this man.

The murderous gang have had their pictures on the front pages having killed a mother and 3 children several days before. They walk around the village and pub drinking yet no one recognises them.

Poor storyline. Nice setting. The positive is, young Irish actors have been given the chance to be in a movie with international appeal.

Wolf
(2023)

I've seen some dross in my time.
The first episode had promise. The second one I'd committed. The third fell it was written by a different person and descended into a slapstick. A kind of Home Alone for adults, without the laughs and for brain dead viewers only.

A empathy bypassed police officer, a comical cult, a "crocodile" in Wales, an obsessed detective who was allowed to investigate with censure in an area he wasn't employed in.

The acting from seasoned professionals was like a a first year drama degree performance. Hammed up to the extreme.

You have only so many minutes in your life do not waste it watching this dross.

Comic strip attempt to tell a serious tale
Really disappointed with the telling of this story.

Based on 'true' events. So far from the truth it would be shamed in the same company as Trump.

The comic book characters are two dimensional and hammed up. A nun with high heels and died blonde hair! A second rate actor that lives off his glory days and stereo typical nazi bad guys. It has a plot taken from the Flash and a moral message that gets lost in the supposed humour. Plot holes bigger than a Chinese weather balloon.

The seventies feel is great and that's all it has going for it.

These are hours in your life you won't get back. Watch with this in mind.
