High Road has be on Tv for over 20 years and what sets it a side from todays other soaps is that the format has not changed and the storyline carries on at its own gentle pace. Characters like Mrs Mack and Isabel Blair have been on the show since its launch in 1980. The storyline takes place around the village of Glendarroch in Scotland and much of the action takes place at the Glendarroch estate or Blair's Store. A gem in the afternoon Tv Schedules long may High Road continue.

Shortland Street is the best soap on TV in the world in my opinion. Currently being shown on the ITV network in Britian this soap is faster paced than any other soap on TV. Set in Auckland, New Zealand Shortland Street is set around a clinic. Major charcters include Sophia Martinez, the clinic director, Waverley Wilson, who owns the coffe shop and Fergus Kearney, Waverlys boyfriend. Waverly is the best charcter on TV in my opinion and is just adorable. Long may Shortland Street continue.

Trisha has been on ITV now for 4 years and I still find her show fresh and entertaining. The Trisha Show is a mixture of topics simular to those found on Ricki Lake and Sally Jessy Raphael. Trisha is the best of the British talk show hosts.

Trisha uses her own life experiences to help her guests on the show and is always very sympathetic to her guests. The show is filmed in the same studio as Jerry Springer UK.

Sally Jessy Raphael show is coming to an end. My afternoons will never be the same again. Sally Jessy Raphael will be missed by all her fans in the United Kingdom where the show is shown twice a day it is that popular. I hope Sally enjoys success where ever the rest of her life takes her.

Sally has been shown on SKY One for as long as I can remember and it will be hard for another show to fill that void.

Another Life ran for 4 years in America and can be currently seen on the Inspiration Network in the UK. Set in the fictional town of Kingsley much of the action takes place around the hospital. Central characters include the heroine of the show Terry Davidson, her evil sister Nancy Lawson and bad boy Gil Prescott. Other pivitol characters include the larger than life Ione Redlon, the reformed Miriam Carpentor-Mason and rogue Russ Weaver. The show has a deeply religous theme and the characters often find their answers to the problems they are facing through god. What makes this show special is that some of the stories are just so outrageous but are always brought to a happy conclusion. Why the show was cancelled in America I do not know but in the UK I am enjoying it very much and the show will not be forgotten!

The Ricki Lake show currently in its nineth season is still the most popular chat show in the United Kingdom. After nine years on air the show is always coming up with fresh and exciting new ideas. While Jerry Springer is the undisputed king of daytime tv Ricki Lake is definatly the queen. Ricki in the past has won best talk show host at the British National Television awards, the only American host to have currently won the award.

Another World may be gone but it will never be forgotten by all its fans in the United Kingdom. The longest running American daytime drama to air in the United Kingdom was a blend of romance and high drama set in the fictional town of Bay City. Wonderful characters lived in this fictional city including the wonderfully evil Carl Hutchins who married the reformed Rachel Cory and became reformed himself. Other wonderful characters included Victoria Hudson-McKinnon played by the beautiful Jenson Buchanan who in my opinion is the best actress on daytime, Amanda Cory, Donna Love, Felicia Gallant, Cameron Sinclair and Cass Winthrop. The one error the show was to kill off Frankie Frame in 1996 as Cass and Frankie where the number one couple on daytime. Another World will live long in our memories.
