Northern Exposure
(1990)

PLEASE...MAKE IT STOP!
I made it to season 3, episode 11 before I had to call it quits. Season 1 was funny but went downhill from there. There is nothing funny about people pontificating about absolutely nothing that anyone wants to hear. Also, a young woman being with a man old enough to be her grandfather is just gross! I knew I had to stop watching when I started yelling at the TV telling the actors to SHUT UP! 🙄 The episode where Dr. Fleishman gets a goat, asked to join a tribe then gets all his personal items stolen. Nothing remotely amusing about that. Just extremely annoying. The shining lights of the show were Darren E. Burrows who played Ed and Peg Phillips who played Ruth-Anne.

Restoring Galveston

Ashley Needs To Chill Out!
Season three, episode eight - LOT PROBLEMS... Ashley was completely and totally arrogant about canceling the order for their cabinets in the kitchen without even consulting with Michael. She said it was his project and she just trounced all over his ideas. She kept saying how much she hated the house and she kept looking for negatives instead of the positives. Michael just kept trying to tell her how much he's always wanted to fix this house up and she still dumped all over it. Ashley just did whatever she wanted without any input from him. She does that in a lot of the episodes I watch and it's very annoying. She talks over him, and it seems like the show is all about her. It shows a very major lack of respect. That's another thing, these shows ought to be run in some kind of order because I have been recording them. One episode she's pregnant the next episode she's not pregnant and on and on and on . It's very unnerving and not fun to watch. Some of their decorating ideas really suck. Putting shelving over windows in the kitchen. Major mistake. Also leaving up multicolored wood on the walls and then putting these little stupid sayings on the bathroom floors. I would not buy a house like that.

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman: The Movie
(1999)

What The Heck!?
When the series ended Jake Slicker was married, Grace and Robert E were having a baby. In Dr. Quinn The movie there is no sign of Grace ever having a child. There is no sign of Jake's wife and he's back working in the Saloon. Where's Hank? Where is the creep banker Preston Lodge? Then we have this kind of silly plot where Katie Sully gets kidnapped.

I've always loved Dr. Quinn. I've rewatched the series a few times but why make a movie and not keep the plot line correct or at least explain the changes. It's sad and very frustrating that there was no effort made to round out the story line and make it more cohesive.

Too Dark To Be Watchable
My main complaint is almost every scene was too dark to be watchable. There is nothing fun about not being able to see anything but shadows and/or dark background. It adds nothing to the plot or make the show more enjoyable. If the writers/directors were going for setting the mood, my mood was ticked off. I couldn't even finish watching the first episode. Extremely disappointed.

The Great
(2020)

Totally Filthy
Completely disappointed in this show. I got half way through the first episode and had to stop watching. I would be embarrassed to let anyone know I had even watched half of one episode. I have many more options for clean viewing entertainment.

Smallville
(2001)

IRRITATING SHOW
I never watched Smallville while it was on the air. I purchased the complete series on DVD in 2012 and just got around to watching. I'm into Season 4 and had to stop watching. Maybe it's my age, I'm in my early 60's, but Smallville finally jumped the shark so bad I had to stop watching. The teen angst, underage drinking, irritating characters. Oh, and the clothes those supposed teenagers were wearing to school. After seeing all the bare midriffs, I'm all for school uniforms. 🙄 I could go on. I can't stand Lois Lane's character. Who walks into someone's house they don't even know and helps themselves to coffee right in front of the owner? Walks in on someone taking a shower and won't leave. It's not cute or funny. It's disrespectful and rude. The Chloe character has no respect for a persons privacy or personal space. The on again, off again thing with Clark and Lana got to be so ridiculous it was painful to watch. Then Lana dating a member of the schools faculty in secret. I don't care what his age was. REALLY??

The most entertaining part of the show was Lionel Luther and his son Lex. You really loved to hate them. The best acting of the show along with John Glover and Michael Rosenbaum as the Luthor's was Annette O'Toole and John Schneider as Martha and Jonathan Kent.

I was in London when the first Superman movie came out with Christopher Reeve. The theater was packed. That was true entertainment!
