A Christmas Story 2
(2012)

NOT terrible
One of my favorite (and certainly my favorite Christmas movie) movies is A Christmas Story. I watched this "squeal" expecting a Trolls 2 (of which there is no Trolls 1). However, while the movie does not deliver on that Jean Shepherd voice over or short stories beauty...it is actually not a terrible film. It honors Shepherds characters, but does NOT convey his short story presentation. The movie is good by our low modern standards, but OH how we miss great minds like Shepherd's. While a cat can be entertained by transformers 14 "things blow up and this movie has no point other and the writers have the IQs of a 3 year old" (working title), we are so missing minds like Shepards'.

Why We Fight
(2005)

Naive
Many on this site call this movie propaganda...obviously that is correct, but to be fair ever single book or movie or media in general is propaganda. We all have agendas and (hopefully researched) opinions for every single action of our lives. This movie is human nature and so clearly propaganda.

The problem I have is that this movie pretends that imperialism & money only became connected with war since WWII. Lets not be naive...every single war in the history of the world has been motivated by power and money. From ancient Greece to the crusades to our current wars. EVERY SINGLE WAR EVER IS ABOUT $$$$$$$$$$$$$!

The Man from Earth
(2007)

was this a comedy...because I laughed at it a lot!
With a PhD. in historical theology this was like watching plan 9 from outer space or troll 2...an uneducated and unrealistic farce that rivals the Da Vinci Code. I do not have a problem with atheists, but make an effort to understand what you are saying (theologically and historically) about what you perceive as your enemy. This movie had potential, but they failed miserably. However, I am sure they succeeded at converting some of the general masses to atheism - purely through rhetoric and false intellectualism, but void of substance.

Do not get me wrong, I love this genre of movies and science fiction in general, but without any action or good acting the movie was relying 100% on the plot and writing, which turned into historical and theological comedy.

Night Train
(2009)

solid - ethics (or lack of) meets sci-fi
Not the best movie ever made, but well above average for a low-budget picture. The acting is solid as is the plot and directing. BUT, what was most enjoyable was the ethical story line (similar to "A Simple Plan" or any movie about thieves trying to split their booty - it always leads to deaths) with a twist of sci-fi.

All those who keep posting that they should have resolved what the box was or someone should get the riches inside the box ipso facto missed the point of the movie. Whether the box is from aliens or God or the devil or whatever is besides the point. The entire movies is about these people who seek the illusion of riches that they think will make them happy. The cruel reality is that all their greed only equals a corruption of their souls (except for danny glover). Chalk it up to concupiscence.
