Gaslit: Will
(2022)
Episode 1, Season 1

Better than I expected
Good performances from Julia Roberts and Sean Penn. It was better than I expected from the IMDB rating so I think a lot of people are rating this lower for political reasons. Mostly told the story of Martha Mitchell, John Dean, and Gordon Liddy, which I didn't know too much about from watching other stories about Watergate. A lot of the the people are portrayed as incompetent buffoons. I don't know how much of that is realistic, but the comedic slant it added definitely added something to it's entertainment value that a more serious look would not have, so I liked it for that aspect of it, but also the storytelling aspect of more minor players I wasn't too aware of.

Leave the World Behind
(2023)

Nothing interesting happens
Nothing interesting ever happens. There were rumblings and noises with little explanation indicating something interesting was going to happen. It just left you waiting for something interesting to actually happen and it never does. I feel like the time I spend watching this was all a big waste. I don't even need to include spoilers because they were so uninteresting they are not even be worth mentioning. They kind of gave you an indication of where things were heading anyways so the big ending did not come as much of a surprise and the way it was done was quite anti-climactic anways. Even the CGI they used was boring.

White House Plumbers
(2023)

Unexpectedly funny
I liked it because it makes Republicans look like the clowns that they are. Perhaps too much like two dimensional cartoonish characters at times. However, the show doesn't take itself seriously enough for you to care about that imo. I don't know how true to the real events it is but it seemed to make a pretty good effort on the things I am aware of. At first I was not impressed with how the characters were just too dumb to be believable. After awhile their idiocy kind of started to work somehow. Maybe they really were that dumb but who knows. I didn't think they needed to try slip in a JFK conspiracy as they they already had more than enough material to work with on Watergate.
