Scream
(1996)

One of if not the greatest horror franchise, and the best start to any in my opinion
This movie wasn't the first in the series i saw but i was so young i didn't care. When i was old enough to care, i watched them all in order finally (At the time just 1-3) and i love them dearly. This first one I've seen upwards of 100 times and i love it the same every watch. I just rewatched it again recently (the other day) and it holds up ridiculously. I watch the whole franchise at least once a year including the new ones, and I've gone to theaters for 4, 5, and 6 as i wasn't born to watch the other 3 in theaters. Anyways i digress, the kills, the atmosphere, the acting, the score, its all just so perfect, and so 90s. Its a decade i wish i lived through and i love watching this movie and other 90s slashers for that and many other reasons. Biased. Yes. But who hasn't seen this movie unless you just downright shun horror or grew up with horror hating parents/guardians. There's a reason this movie saved the entire horror genre at the time. Its not underrated, because everyone loves this movie. Case closed. Its not completely perfect, like the grocery store and woods sightings of Ghostface are a bit ridiculous and i assume was just because when they paid Fun World for the rights to the official mask, they wanted to use it less than sparingly. Which i have no issue with. 9/10. Amazing film. Not my favorite in the franchise, but it holds the #2 spot for me.

Great Movie, Great Premise, Great Twists. Solid Choice For Movie Night
Saw this movie around 2013-2014ish and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Watched it a few times that week and i just rewatched it recently. I remember the movie vividly and i still love it the same. It gives you a really uneasy feeling in your gut watching it, mostly due to the unsteady camera and use of tv commercials and shots that actually look realistic for once. The movie has solid acting and i loved every twist in this movie. The main character is both unsettling and sympathetic at the same time and they dont try to force it. People around him are just AWFUL. And god that ending is legendary. Recommend if you love true crime movies. 8/10. It could be better, but i got what i sat down for. At the end of the day its not perfect but its pretty great imo.
