This is by far the best fast paced action movie I've ever seen. Absolutely brilliant, Stallone has made some really good stuff in the past but this takes the cake. Why do I like this movie so much, well lets see : It was not long and drawn out, Stallone kept it short and to the point. The action scenes are out of this world. The acting is way above acceptable. This is just a masterpiece in every sense, OK it's an action movie but delivers much,much more than expected. I loved the Rocky's and to this day I can still watch them and lets not forget all the work Stallone did behind the scenes of some great Hollywood movies back in the day. It don't know what it's going to take to top this movie, I think Stallone has just given a whole new meaning to "Action movies". Anybody out there who has an action movie in the making... stop watch this movie and get a few tips before finalizing. Stallone you are a marvel and congratulations on this masterpiece.

I can see this movie has had a lot of bad reviews but I must admit it beats the crap out of some of the horrors / thrillers I've seen lately. The acting is very good, the location was excellent and the background music was brilliant. So what if there weren't enough killing scenes, the attack scenes that were shown were excellent and the special effects were top class. I thought the bodies they found peeled to the bone quite interesting and original. This is not a boring movie, in fact the characters can keep you entertained. I would recommend this movie to anybody who is looking for some entertainment on a night off or if you are a frequent movie watcher.

I've been giving some negative reviews lately but this movie is a legend. This has to be the most inspirational movie I have ever seen and it offers much much more. Alan Rickman was once again at his utmost best and Mos Def is a natural. You will go through all the emotions in this movie, for me the hardest thing to face was Dr Vivien Thomas (Mos Def) my heart broke a thousand times for the poor man, "was America really that bad in those day's", it kinda reminded me of South Africa during the apartheid era. Dr Vivien Thomas was driven for the love of the work and nothing else and what a natural genius. In the end he got recognition for his work but I don't think that was enough, his picture should have been hung in the Whitehouse. All I can say to anybody out there who hasn't seen this movie is "you are missing out on something special and movies like this don't come in abundance". This movie is worth purchasing and keeping as a classic.

What a load of trash. Anyone who could even think this movie was acceptable needs to see a shrink. The acting was probably the worst I have ever seen give or take and the story line sucked. A caution to Tara Reid - you have appeared in some cracking movies and you are a brilliant actress, "what possessed you to take this role". David Boreanaz is what he is and that is "flat out useless" I always avoid anything with him in it and last but not least - Edward Furlong, he hasn't appeared in anything decent since "American History X". What more can I say about this movie except throw it in the trash can and I would say paying more than three cents for this movie is a rip off and not to mention wasting an hour and a half of your precious time. I am a movie addict and have been since as far back as I can remember and consider myself quite knowledgeable when it comes to good and bad movies so believe me when I tell you "Avoid this movie at all costs"

I hired this movie last night after a terrible trip back from work hoping it would be entertaining enough to relax me but my god what a load of garbage. Im from England and reside in South Africa and this movie was a disgrace not only to Britain but to the movie industry as a whole. Do not even rent this movie, I switched it off after the first half an hour and found myself even more agitated. I did not even find the quotes funny and it looked like the movie was shot in a studio half the time. What more can I say - this movie was an utter disgrace and not only a waste of precious time but a waste of money as well, do not spend more than two cents on this movie or you are being ripped off. I know one place where this movie would do well and thats in the garbage can. I have warned you so hire or buy at your own risk.

I really enjoyed this movie, it was well made and the acting and effects were good. It does contain a few scare scenes "which were done very well might I add" (not that it scared me, but I know a few people who commented on it) but it's a great movie for horror / thriller fans who want to sit back and be entertained. The story line is very good and "No it's not a rip off of anything", in fact I thought it was quite an interesting concept. This is a definite for people want to be entertained and maybe have a little scare here and there. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who wants to hire it and if it's a genre that you like, purchase it, it's worth another watch if you battling to find something.

If I could, I would give this movie a flat out zero. I don't know what people see in these old low budget movies, Im not young anymore but I do know one thing - with todays technology much better movies are made, although there is still a lot of garbage coming out. Well lets get back to this movie, it is not scary, the acting is utter garbage and the zombies - well lets not even say anything. These people that rate this movie so high must be stuck in a time machine somewhere back in the past, why don't you watch a proper zombie movie like "Dawn of the dead" or one the "Resident evil's" where zombies actually look real and move properly and of course have much better effects. I must admit that I did watch this movie as a kid when it first came out and it seemed pretty good at the time but now, it would not even feature in my bottom one hundred list. Sorry to all those who rated this movie high but I think you are a little outdated.

I have read some of the reviews on this movie and there seems to be a lot mixed opinions. Well all I can say is this movie was brilliant, it's a yes yes for all horror fans. The acting, directing was top class and the gore effects were well done. Some of the quotes that R.Lee Emry came out with will have you in stitches laughing, unless you don't have a sense of humor. I recommend this movie for any horror fan and if you haven't seen it, make it a point. I don't see this movie as a "rip off" of anything, it is what it is and it's good. It's nothing new that I agree with but then what is? horror movies have been going since the day's of Vincent Price etc and to tell you the truth I don't really care if it's close to a "Hills have eyes" or "Hostel" the movie was just so well done. Once again - a definite for any horror fan.

Sorry but this will have to be one of my negative comments. This movie had a great idea but it is so outdated I cant bear even to think about it. These people who are giving it such high ratings need to get up to speed with things, watch the 2006 remake and then you have a proper movie. If I could give this movie a lower rating, I would, I mean come on - why do you think Wes Craven did a remake????? I've seen many 70's horror movies that were a lot better than this. The acting is low class, the budget very low and bad directing but what would you expect from an old seventies movie, how you can even say this is a classic or a brilliant movie is beyond me. To all the people who rated this movie high, do yourself a favor and watch the remake and then you will know what I am talking about. Sorry Wes Craven but you made up for it with a brilliant remake.

Everything in one. What a masterpiece, not only does this movie give you enough action, it focuses in on nature and especially the thoughts and emotions of the young men fighting. There was a variety of top class actors in this movie and each one gave a great performance and the directing was superb. One of Nick Nolte's best performances yet (not that I am mocking anything else he has done as he is a natural actor). I have no idea why anybody would give this movie a poor review, maybe they should watch the movie again with no disturbance and get a better perspective. If you haven't seen this movie yet, do your self a favor and watch it. It offers a little something for almost any movie lover. Well done Terrence Mallick.

What a great movie, non stop action some great stunts and great acting. This was definitely better than I expected and Timothy Olyphant was brilliant and well suited for the part. If you are an action movie lover then this one's for you. I don't quite get some of the negative reviews and once again I have to say "Take it for what it is" It was full blown entertainment and it certainly got my attention from beginning till end. I didn't expect top class drama or an eighty million dollar budget movie, it was just a fun,action packed, entertaining movie "with sufficient budget might I add". Anybody who expected more should go through their action movies and they will probably give this movie a higher rating. Well done Timothy Olyphant and anybody else involved in this movie.

This has to be the ultimate teenage rebellion movie and it does not get better than this. An attack on the media - I don't think so, the media as usual always turn things upside down. The plot, Directing and acting were top class especially Stephen Dorf. I am 40 years old and can still enjoy watching this movie, it's just so dam good. I bought this movie as soon as it was released on DVD, it's a classic and I think it will remain that way for many years. Anybody who didn't enjoy this movie might want to see it again and get a fresh perspective. The truth it tells about society and the media is brilliant and if you cant see that then you must be blind. Top class movie and well done to everyone involved.

I have read some of the comments on this movie and ???????? where do some of these people come from. I am not a big Rob Zombie fan and have not enjoyed his previous movies - House of a thousand corpses, The devils rejects... But this is pure brilliance, this is not a mockery of a classic original, in fact it's better. I watched this movie when it first came out and bought it as soon as it was available on DVD and since then I have watched it 7 times and it still impresses me. All the actors in this movie were on top form, especially Sherry Moon Zombie, she pulled off a compassionate and caring mother so well she should have been nominated for an academy award. The directing was top class and the plot was top class, so whats the problem. I have all the other Halloween movies but this one takes the cake. Well done Rob Zombie.

I don't know about some of these other voters but how much more did you expect. I found this film to be very well made and original. the special effects were brilliant and there was nothing wrong with the acting. this film was well made and well executed and entertaining. I watched this on my projector and it kept me glued to the screen from beginning till end. An excellent film with some good action and brilliant special effects. I have watched thousands of movies of all genre's and I must say, lately this is one of the better one's. There is a lot of Sci - Fi garbage out there but believe me this is not one of them. If you have a problem with this movie then it has to be you with the problem, just sit back relax and enjoy this movie, i'm sure that's it's purpose. I don't really care about any goofs in this movie because it really is entertaining, definitely an 8 in my books and a well deserved 8.
