Nikolai Drozdov (the Russian David Attenborough) takes the viewer on an extensive tour of the beautiful terrain and fascinating wild life of the former USSR. The films contain one of the few shots of the famous Russian 'ledokhod' (literally 'ice walk') in which the ice on a river melts from end to end in a crashing, thunderous torrent of ice and water. Not to be missed.
