A Million Ways to Die in the West
(2014)

Love Seth's other work, this was unbelievably poor
Well well well!

Myself and my three mates were pretty excited as we sat down to watch this film, the trailer had me howling and made it look pretty cool. I think Family guy is great, as too American Dad. And I thought Ted was really very funny and had a decent script. About 20 minutes into the film I'd noticed there hadn't been much laughter at all from any of us. I stared at my mate and we both had this look of utter disappointment and bewilderment on our little faces.

Some reviewers have given this an eight, stating it's 'the funniest film they've seen in ages'. I'm sorry, but they either have really bad taste in films, weren't watching the same film I was, or are part of the films production.

Honestly, I was so disappointed. The humour was cringeworthy, the script was absolute pants and I was left thinking that Seth MacFarlane must know deep down in his heart that he's created a real stinker. Pick yourself up Seth, dust yourself off and move on to greener and funnier pastures.

Mientras duermes
(2011)

Wow! This film will creep the hell out of you
I had no idea what this film was about before I saw it, and boy was I pleasantly surprised. From the same director as REC and also set in an apartment block. This Spanish gem has a great cast, especially the lead 'Luis Tosar' who plays his part superbly, filling you with an ever increasing sense of unease and shock at what you're witnessing. It's very beautifully shot too, making the most of it's apartment block setting. By the end of the film I was left thinking "this could actually happen".

It's by far one of the creepiest, most twisted tales I've had the pleasure of watching in a long time.

Highly recommended!

The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence)
(2011)

Much better effort than the very tame and silly first centipede
Anybody going to see this film should have a darn good idea of what's going to be served up to them. And to be fair I was pleasantly surprised.

Compared to the first film, which I thought was OK considering all the hype, this is a far better effort from director Tom Six. He couldn't have cast a creepier and more unsettling actor as the killer. Who gives a believable performance throughout. The film is shot against an oppressive rainy London backdrop and is in black & white. This gives it an industrial feel, adding to the overall griminess of the film.

This is in my opinion not as shocking in subject matter as "A Serbian Film". But thanks to a few scenes, it did have me gagging and looking away from the screen.

Well worth a watch if this type of movie usually floats your boat.
