Dick Francis: In the Frame
(1989)

Even worse than the terrible Twice Shy
How these mace for TV movies can be said to be based on the Dick Francis novels I don't know. His books are well written, well plotted thrillers whereas this is one of the most awful things ever put to film. Although In the Frame does follow the basic plot of the book, it seems to be playing things for lauhghs, which are turn out not to be funny. Ian McShane is cringeworthy as the hero and he is the best performance of the whole thing, which does not say much really. Not even bad enough to be entertaining I can honestly say I felt like I had wasted an hour and a half of my life afyter watching this film, I strongly advise other people not to make the same mistake.

Dick Francis: Twice Shy
(1989)

What a complete load of rubbish
What can I say, badly acted, no plot the only high point was of of the funniest death scenes in film/TV history. As one of the villains is accidentally shot his dying words of "Youv'e only gone and bloody killed me !!!" proved far more entertaining than the rest of the film put together. Dick Frances is renowned for his strong plots, it's a pity that this company didn't have the sense to follow any of them, instead making up this crappy uncomplicated story that amazes the view by having no plot twists what so ever. What you see is what you get. The murder mystery element is non existent and you never really find out who killed the character in the first scene. How the police though it was an accident with evidence just lying around the murder scene.

A complete farce from start to finish.
