Inkaar
(2013)

i loved it
I am usually very picky with Indian movies and rarely have a favourite.... and despite the reviews I'd heard and read, this movie was definitely time well spent.

I think vital to any good movie is not only obviously a great script, but also great chemistry and acting - and this movie did not disappoint in all. I loved the detailed layering the actors gave to their characters and made them believable and realistic.

The only bad thing I would like to add is I think more background profile on the main characters would have been nice, as well as perhaps more scenes on how the romance starts in the first place.

But other than that, I liked this movie enough to come on here and review it. So do give this movie a chance and pay no mind to the critics. It may not be the BEST movie you have ever seen, but I can guarantee you a good storyline with great acting especially if you are into these angst-filled reality-based stories.

great romance movie
Just watched this movie and felt obligated to let the world know how great it is...

it's not your normal clichéd movie about romance...

the script was great.

The acting was totally believable and boy! those actors are HOT. Though I have to admit, as someone who has watched Twilight, I was a bit iffy seeing 'Carlise' be NOT Carlise...but surprisingly, the actor played Bobby really well - maybe even better than he played Carlise (but then again, Carlisle never had much to say/do in the movie adaptations)..the girl actress was really pretty and a great actress...

Overall - really impressed with this movie. I sort of never wanted it to end.

Check it out! You wont be disappointed.

Revenge
(2011)

dear writers,
Hello :)

Please do not let Daniel be killed on this show. Please, and thank you.

Also, Tyler is getting more annoying with every episode - I find his storyline is too frustrating to watch and it irks me every time he comes on and puts me off the show.

And maybe for fun, just throw in a bit of Nolan/Amanda romance in the mix? Amanda needs to show some emotion as her being so cold/unemotional/distant is a bit unsettling.

Other than that, I LOVE this show and hope to see many many more episodes. :)

Keep up the awesome work!

Once Upon a Time
(2011)

i'm in love
Such an AWESOME pilot!

I really hope the story lines stay as interesting every week. While I do agree with some of the reviewers here about the fairy tale parts being a bit unbelievable, everything else was perfect. Even the fairy tale parts were acted well. Great cast with believable chemistry.

I've been waiting for a show like this. As kids, we all grow up with these stories, it feels great to see it come to life mingled with reality.

Definitely on my list every week from now. CANT wait for the rest of the season! WOOP!

:)

We Are Family
(2010)

emotional
Despite what some people might say, this movie was great. It was filled with emotional moments. Every actor/actress delivered a strong performance. Even the kids were great and believable as the characters.

And yea, I doubt this would happen the way it did in real life, but isn't the point of making movies is to step away from reality for a few hours? If you wanna see something sad, something real, something about love, something about trust, something about sacrifice and something about family...then this is your movie. Don't expect perfection but it comes close enough...

.....

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving

beautiful..leaves you wanting more.
I dunno why people here have been giving this such bad reviews. I understand this movie is the typical bollywood movie, but that does NOT make it a bad movie. I know many Aamir Khan fans who went to see the film were probably disappointed as it is not like his usual films...

I have always enjoyed his work and I think this movie has a LOT more to offer than Aamir Khan. The others actors were INCREDIBLE, and it's amazing that they are just ordinary people. Maybe that's why there were, because in a lot of ways, Mumbai Diaries is about every day life.

Kriti (the girl who plays Yasmin) was amazing. I laughed when she laughed and cried when she didn't. I LOVE the way her part was incorporated in the movie and that credit goes to Kiran Rao. Which brings me to my next point. I think Kiran did a wonderful job with this film, and I actually don't see how people could criticize her just because her husband is Aamir.

The story lines were written beautifully. Each story had depth and meaning. Every one meant something to one another, but there was no place for them in the each others lives.

Munna's character is so endearing and sweet, he makes you fall in love with him from the first scene. And Shai's performance leaves you wanting more. She plays the international girl perfectly, and being a bit of an 'outsider' myself, I know exactly how it is going back to your roots. Shai had it down pat. Yasmin, again, I think for me..was the best character. I loved her from the very beginning. She was innocent and happy and almost child-like, you couldn't help but love her...Aamir was like always, brilliant. The guy's talented as the world knows.

This film is not you average Indian movie, but it is a beautiful piece of work and truly captures your attention. Not once was I bored or wondered when the movie would end. Yes it had it had some flaws, main one being the cursing...for some reason that made me laugh. I felt it didn't really go with the situation, and was a bit forced. Other than that, kudos to the whole team for creating this movie.

Numbers and 'hit'/'flop' status does NOT make a movie a 'good' movie...every one is different and has their own opinions. For me, this was a great movie. :) Def one of my favourites.

Should NOT have been cancelled...should NOT have been freaking cancelled.
Yes, the acting at times was laughable.

Yes, the show was not the best out there.

And yes, the script too, at times, was just plain lame.

BUT.

BUT.

But it should NOT have been cancelled.

I'll never forgive ABC for cancelling this show. *bitter* There were many funny moments per episode, particularly those including Chris or Grandma...

The weakest casting choice was the role of Zoey. Chloe's acting as Zoey was terrible. However, it was her fist acting role so she may have gotten better with experience.... *shrug* ANYWAY, POINT IS, this show could have gone to do a LOT better had it not been cancelled.

Remember Me
(2010)

Not bad..but not great
Based on the trailer, I went in dreading the fact that I may not enjoy his movie. And I was right. There was nothing special about the movie. There were a lot of awkward silences and hardly any chemistry between the little girl (Ruby Jerins) and Tyler. Before you all get mad, I thought their relationship was adorable, especially when Tyler was so protective of Caroline, but when I saw them together, I thought something was missing between them. But that minor detail is hardly a bad point about this movie.

The acting was just OK. Not superb. Rob did GREAT at some points and others, not so much. The scene that did give me goosebumps was when he was yelling to his on-screen Dad. That was incredibly acted. I was SO PROUD of him at the moment. Other times, he would sound like he was mumbling... I think his transition from a British accent to an American one really compromises his acting. Not just playing Tyler but also as Edward. Especially as Edward. but I will not go there right now.

The ending of the movie was ... the best and worst part. I think. It was so REAL. I wish they'd actually shown the events cuz that would have made such a huge impact. But the way they did was still intense. And so heart-breaking. I did cry...but then I cry at anything remotely sad. It was pretty obvious it was gonna happen cuz death was the underlying theme from the very beginning of the movie. And then showing what and where everyone was right before it happened...*shudder*. However, it was also totally useless. There were already two deaths in the movie, a third was uncalled for.

Pierce, Emilie and Tate Ellington all acted brilliantly. Tate - for a newcomer was especially believable as Aidan. Ruby (as Caroline) was freaking CUTE. All in all, the acting was very believable but the script at some points was weak. I wouldn't go see it again but I'll definitely buy it when it comes to DVD. And I also think watching it a second time might make me like it a little more.

Kudos to Rob because he managed to do a lot better than a lot of people (including myself) gave him credit for.

The moral of the movie was not just love and the importance of family, but also the fact that Life goes on. No matter what, life always goes on.

Awful
Alexis Bledel and Jane Lynch were the only good thing about this movie. Their acting is great and believable - a feat not accomplished by any other actor/actress in this film.

Their was no chemistry between Zach Gilford and Alexis. Zach does have the potential to be an excellent actor. At some points, he appeared completely in his element and believable as Adam, others...not so much.

The "comedy" part was overused and unfunny. Most of the characters seemed to be reading off the scripts. There wasn't much expression emotionally or even intellectually. Especially the Dad guy - honestly his parts made no sense at all. I have no idea why he was one of the main characters...his acting had to be the worst. Michael Keaton is a well-known, respected actor and I've enjoyed his other roles but this was hideous. I just don't understand the point of the car racing, the cat killing, the freaking belt buckles...honestly?

Even the soundtrack was awful! Amazingly predictable ending - but that was expected from the beginning.

Watch it if you are willing to waste two hours or if you have a soft spot for Alexis. I wish she'd do more 'deeper' movies.

And I really hope Zach Gilford acts better in his other movies. He needs to display more emotions and not look scared all the time - which he did in this movie. But kudos to him for trying. He's also got a gorgeous smile btw.
