Imaginary
(2024)

Pretty good till it took a turn.
This film moved kind of slow, but it was entertaining and a fairly good film until one particular moment in the movie. From that point on it just fell apart. It made no sense at all. The acting was good it just didn't make any sense. The young girl especially did really well. I had high hopes for this one and I enjoyed the first hour or so. When they went through the wall the film completely fell apart. The husband and wife didn't have any chemistry at all and the cliche angry teenage daughter has been way overplayed. The next-door neighbor is one of the stupidest and most annoying characters I've seen in a long time. Give it a shot if you want to and if you understand it, please explain it to me.

Thanksgiving
(2023)

Pretty good but over the top.
First off, I wouldn't consider this a horror by any stretch of the imagination. It's a slasher. Most of the movie is way over the top, especially in the Gore area. If you can believe that a trashcan lid is strong enough to cut a body in half and that a person is strong enough to rip a head off a body then maybe not. If you've seen the Final Destination franchise then that's pretty much what you can expect here. The opening scene in the store is probably the most over-the-top scene I have watched in a long time. Basically it's pretty ridiculous. I gave this a seven because it's actually an entertaining movie to watch and it's fun trying to figure out who the killer is. I found myself rooting for these morons to bite it. Most of the cast is very annoying.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter
(2023)

Ignore the Negative Reviews
Once again the reviews are misleading. This wasn't a bad movie at all. You've gotta remember that most people don't take the time to review something unless they have something negative to say. The suspense was really good. The acting was very good and overall I found myself drawn in and wondering what was going to happen next. The fact that the kid dies was a surprise. Once again the poor dog doesn't fare well in a horror movie. Dracula did look a little too much like Gollum but he was still creepy. To the reviewer that said a black man wouldn't have been a Cambridge graduate and doctor way back then I just say it's a movie about a frickin' blood sucking vampire. Historical accuracy isn't exactly that important. If the fact that a black man is a dr bothers you you have personal problems and prejudices that you need to address. Rent this you'll like it I promise.

Play Dead
(2022)

Not possible at all but entertaining
The movie has so many parts of the story that make no sense and aren't plausible in any way. Having said that if you can get past that and suspend reality for an hour and a half it's entertaining. Bailee Madison does a great job as always and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Jerry O'Connell plays the creepy Coroner really well. The twist at the end involving the police officer really isn't a twist since you can see it coming a mile away. Overall, if you have an evening to spend and are looking for a movie to watch, you can do much worse than this if you're willing to accept the unbelievable story.

The Boogeyman
(2023)

Def one of the better horror films in a long while.
Don't believe the negative reviews. This was a very good movie. The acting was great especially the little girl. If you get a chance to see this in a dark movie theater, that is definitely the best way to watch it. It had a good story with several jump scares. The Boogeyman himself was creepy as hell. My only complaint was how wimpy the dad came across both of the kids were tougher than him. In a time where so many horror movies are the same this one definitely stands out. It actually freaked me out at times which is really hard to do because I'm a big horror fan. Go see it. It's worth it I promise you.

The Unkind
(2021)

Laughable Acting!
The Chris character actor has got to be the single worst actor I have ever seen in my life. I thought for a moment it was being overdubbed from another language. A text to speech app could deliver lines better than this guy. In fact I'd be surprised if anyone involved in this nonsense ever had another paying job anywhere in the entertainment industry. To be honest I can't give a full review because I didn't make it any farther than the first 20 minutes. The first scene actually seemed promising. Then the idiots in the VW van showed up and it became a bad middle school play. Avoid this at all costs.

Ink Master
(2012)

It was better before it moved to Paramount Plus
I have nothing against profanity but there are so many F bombs in the show now it is almost unwatchable. Seriously do these guys and girls not know any other words? It's distracting from the actual show when every other word is the F word. Just for the fun of it I counted the other day and got to 60 in one episode and stopped counting. There were nowhere near that mini beeps when it was on regular satellite television. It makes me wonder if they were told to curse more because that's an awful dramatic change. I'll still continue to watch it but maybe cut it to a little less profanity because it makes these contestants look uneducated.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn
(2022)

Absolute Garbage
The first two films in this franchise were great! The third was really bad, or at least I thought so. This one, however, makes the third one look like Casablanca. It's devoid of any story or redeeming qualities. The Creeper looks like a cheap Halloween costume. The worst part is it ended looking like yet another film is coming. They won't stop until they've squeezed every last cent out of this series. Please do yourself a favor and pass on this one. If we quit giving them our money maybe they'll quit producing this useless tripe. I do wanted a return to greatness for the Creeper but what I got what a huge waste of time and a disappointment.

Orphan: First Kill
(2022)

One glaring problem
I have the same issue that most people, with decent vision, will have. Unlike the first film the whole child/woman thing doesn't work this time around. She in no way looks anything like a 9 year old. The actress is much older and just can't pull it off this time. It's hard to get beyond the fact that she looks like a grown woman in the face.

To Tell the Truth: Cynthia Erivo, Gary Owen and Donald Faison
(2022)
Episode 1, Season 7

Good show but questionable in these times.
A funny show but how do the perverted jokes and sexist attitudes fly in 2022? I'm actually not offended but in the time we live in I'm surprised the cancel culture crowd hasn't shut this show down yet.

To Tell the Truth
(2016)

Not a bad show but uncomfortable and kinda sexist humor
A lot of the jokes shouldn't work in 2022. Female foolers are often the subject of sexist and crude jokes. I'm surprised it's allowed in the sensitive times we live in. It's fun to play along and try to figure out who's telling the truth though. The celebrity panelists are funny and the host with his mother works pretty well.

The tweeted lie is a great idea as well. I don't think it'll last very long because someone, somewhere will get offended and demand it be cancelled.

Impractical Jokers: I'm Having the Best Time
(2021)
Episode 13, Season 9

Funny episode except Keith
This is a great episode but in the fake commercial sketch at Top Golf the guy named Keith is a real douche bag. He's full of himself and gets angry over nothing.

Game of Talents
(2021)

Boring and too easy.
Not worth your time. Unless you're looking to fall asleep. That's about all its good for. I give it 2 months.

Malevolent
(2018)

Another Failed Netflix Original
As usual Netflix has produced another uninspired, painfully boring excuse for a film. It limps along at a snail's pace while going nowhere and achieving nothing. It feels like they throw these things together in a day. Do yourself a favor and pass on this snooze fest.

Thor: Ragnarok
(2017)

A Bad Stand Up Routine
If you're expecting an exciting Marvel adventure you're gonna be disappointed. Im not sure who's loving this movie and giving such huge ratings unless it's little kids. Its full of bad jokes and "Super Heroes" acting like morons. Rent it if you want its your money but don't set your expectations high or you'll be disappointed.

Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween
(2017)

A Huge Disappointment for Madea Fans.
First let me say that I love the Madea of old. The last few films have really started to become obscene and have lost any sense of morality they once had. Not only is this film not funny it's torturous to sit through. Tyler Perry has traded quality and morals for a quick buck and cheap obscene attempts at laughter. Don't waste your time on this crap. Re-watch one of the earlier films when Madea was still funny and endering.

Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away!
(2014)

Heartless Scums of the Earth
I have never in my life seen a meaner or more heartless group of individuals as these so-called high court enforcers. The older gentleman are sometimes willing to work with the people but the younger guys are just plain heartless bastard's. If you can watch this without wanting to smack one of these pompous losers in the head then you're way better than I am. Not only do they not lift a finger to make things easier they seem to take delight in making things as difficult as possible. I just hope these guys are down and out and need someone to help them one day and they're treated the exact same way that they treat the people in this show.

The Blind King
(2016)

Put it back on the shelf immediately!
This is another case of being fooled by the preview. This little gem made absolutely no sense whatsoever. The acting was laughable and it progressed at the rate of a wounded snail. I'm not sure what the director was going for here but if it was creating an hour and a half of drivel I'd say he hit it out of the ballpark. I should have taken a clue from the fact that the video store only had one copy in. You may like it who knows? Some people like a good root canal. My advice would be just say no.

The Dinner
(2017)

Complete and Total Crap!
Go watch paint dry. Go watch the water spin around in the toilet after you flush it. Spend your time and money doing anything but watching this nonsensical and utterly boring garbage. After hanging in there hoping for some sort of conclusion that would bring this disjointed mess together the garbage just ended like a horse with a broken leg being put out of it's misery. No payoff for sticking around till the end. This gives new meaning to the word sucks.

Great Balls of Fire!
(1989)

A Terribly Acted Joke of a Film.
If you're looking for something the quality of La Bamba, The Buddy Holly Story or I Walk the Line you'll be extremely disappointed. The acting in this film isn't just over the top it's painfully awful to watch. The fake Southern Accents make it even worse if that were possible. I suppose one could find a modicum of entertainment in this disaster if you were looking for a good laugh but that's about all it will provide you.

Whispers
(2015)

High expectations but greatly disappointed.
After reading the reviews of this film and seeing the high rating I was looking forward to watching it. I was really disappointed that it seemed to go nowhere and bored me to death. If you enjoy this movie then more power to you but my fiancé and I hated it. I honestly don't understand the high rating because I found nothing of substance in this film whatsoever. It was so boring in fact that we both fell asleep less than halfway through it. I would avoid wasting your money on this one and that's just my opinion.

Comedy Knockout
(2016)

A show so bad that it actually kills the brain cells of anyone that attempts to watch it .
This show is devoid of any comedic value whatsoever. The fact that it has more than one season is perplexing and I have no idea why anyone would watch this. It's an embarrassment and it should have been canceled after the first episode. The attempted jokes are vulgar and mean spirited which may be acceptable if they were in fact funny but they are the furthest thing from it.

Solitude
(2014)

A whole new level of horrible.
If you're watching this looking for a good scary movie you will be severely disappointed. The acting is horrendous, the story is non existent and the filming quality is on a whole new level of terrible. Much of the film is in black and white for no good reason. I lasted approximately 10 minutes before I couldn't handle it anymore. I honestly can't recall ever watching anything this bad and that's no exaggeration. How this garbage ever got produced is a mystery to me. Stay far away from this one as it has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and your money is better flushed down the toilet. If anything ever deserved a rating of 0 it's this one.

A Fish Story
(2013)

Totally Unbelievable Story With Sub-Par Acting
The basic premise of this movie is pretty darn silly. I caught it on Netflix on a slow Saturday afternoon. The glaring problem that stood out to me is the Mother trusting a complete stranger to sleep over in her cabin and go fishing with her young daughter alone is pretty ludicrous. The little girl is the one bright spot in a movie full of actors that would fit in better in a high school drama club. I found it hard to stay awake and was left wondering wondering how I could have better spent the hour and a half I wasted watching this. I wish success to the young actress and would advise the actor that played the middle son to find a different career choice.
