This is exactly how I learned how to read. My grandmother gave me what we call the "AT list" You know, words that end it "-at" like, bat, fat, sat, you know. This is exactly the kind of reading this show teaches. And it teaches family values too! I think we should incorporate it into school cirriculums. I know I would! (And I'm a teaching assistant!)

I spent a lot of time last year teaching children how to read, but using the methods described in the teacher's book just got the kids more and more confused. So I brought a game of Scrabble to school with me, and followed what they do on the show, I based the entire lesson on one sound, or taught them how silent "e" can change vowel sounds, like pin and pine or plan and plane. And the kids started learning! it was fantastic!

Great for kids. 9 out of 10!

Seen better? Yep. Seen worse? Absolutely! I saw this movie at school. As a Christian (Proud to be one, by the way!) I did find it quite interesting. A few parts freaked me, but then, I'm easily freaked. As an actress (amateur, of course), I did find the acting quite good. Cameron was believable, and whoever played Carpathia actually had me very very upset with him. He was that creepy. That's as close as anyone has ever come to an accurate anti-Christ (hey! The Bible said he would be suave, calm, and popular!)

Actually, I haven't read the books, but I did listen to the live-action radio dramas weekly. Truly, the radio drama was a lot better, but I like radio acting more anyway, so I'm sort of biased that way. The sequel was just as frightening, and it's perhaps the best Revelation movie since "Thief in the Night" which scared the living day-lights out of me! Of course, I was only 8 then!

Everyone around knows when I write these things, I always say that what I've written is my opinion. How do you know if you like it unless you SEE it? Rent it and see for yourself before forming an opinion, no matter what ANYONE says!! After all, One man's trash is another man's treasure, and vice-versa!

I've never seen a Brando film before. I've never seen a Napoleon film before. But after studying Napoleon in World history class and seeing Desiree, I've come to the conclusion the Brando must be a descendant of Napoleon or something. He IS Napoleon. I wasn't that interested when my grandmother suggested it, but I don't take things at face value. I check it out. True it's not incredibly accurate, historically speaking, though a lot of it is true and someone certainly did their research. If I recall my history class correctly someone once called Napoleon "The greatest Godless man alive." or something like that. But Brando IS Napoleon. No Question.

I watched this movie with my drama class. At first it didn't make a whole lot of sense and I wasn't all that interested, but being the mystery lover that I am, I decided to see it the whole way through.

I changed my mind. It was spectacular. I love the energy that Ingrid has, a believability that you just don't find that much anymore. I always say that you can tell how good an actor or actress is by believability. It's called character acting. If you can forget that that is Ingrid and just think of her as a woman on the verge of insanity, then she did a great job. One of the best character actresses today is Sandra Bullock, but more on that another time.

Another sign of a great actor or actress is versatility. This role was way different from "Casablanca", yet she was just as believable in either case.

It kept me on the edge of my seat and the ending was a heart pounding race to see who would end up in custody first.

I always say when I write these things that I loved it but you might not. Go try it for yourself and form your own opinion. After all, one man's trash...

Most teenagers don't watch classics I know. But after they've seen this one, there's no turning back! This is the classic to end all classics (That and Gone With The Wind which rocked! but the ending was a bit unusual.) I had been an Ingrid Bergman fan after watching Gaslight with my drama class. It was great because I love a good mystery type thing.

Casablanca was a bit confusing at first, but I found out in the end that it has just the right blend of romance, drama, and comedy. Plus, my dad instilled in me a love for all things World War II related.

I would recommend this movie for children 15 and older, not because there's anything bad, but simply because I don't think younger children would understand it. You guys my age, this is a great Sit-down-and-watch-with-your-girl-on-a-rainy-afternoon type movie, and parents already love it, so everyone's happy.

Great Mouse Detective is one of the best Disney movies I've seen yet. The animation is that classic Disney style and (thank Goodness) it lacks all of those annoying songs.

As a true Sherlockian, I can only say that this is as good as it gets as far as Holmes goes. No matter what everyone says, It is still great. Kids may not get some parts f it, but every Sherlockian knows what's going on. While Ratigan may be no Moriarty, he's still the perfect example of the classic Disney villain.

Vincent Price is a terrific actor, and Alan Young as Flaversham was the perfect fit. Young Susanne Pollatschek is the perfect Olivia and no one could do a better Basil than Barrie Ingham. Val Bettin makes a lovable Dawson. Fidget is the classic evil crony.

This is absolutely a must see. For all you baby-sitters out there, and I know from personal experience, take this to your next job and the kids won't even blink for over an hour. It's one of the most memorable Disney movies of it's age. Although Beauty and the Beast will always be my favorite, GMD runs an extremely close second!

I give it 11/10! It's that good!

I've seen better, I've seen worse. It was all right. Though how Rathe got to be Moriarty is beyond me. Especially since Moriarty died as he fell over a waterfall in Switzerland. I was somewhat skeptical when this movie was first recommended to me, but I finally gave in. Although I am against the strong sexual presence contained in the movie, it is, by far, one of the few good musicals out there, and as a drama student, I've seen plenty. The words are poetic, the music powerful and moving, the choreography couldn't be better! I was extremely happy with the artistic quality of this movie. I'm not sure if it's on Broadway, but if it is, it deserves it's place! An absolute must see! Like I always say when I write these things, I liked it, but that doesn't mean you will. I think that this is possibly the worst adaptation to date! I always try to see movies based on a literary classic, but now I kind of wish I hadn't seen this particular one. I loved the 1978 TV Version of Les Miserables. True, it wasn't exactly what I expected, but it's the best version to date! (That I've seen anyway!) I'm still looking for a movie version of Silas Marner that was true to the book. (Anyone else here agree?)Take it from a student who has studied every part of Les Miserables, (I'm in a high school drama class!) and my drama teacher introduced us to the musical about a year ago. I haven't finished reading the book yet but I'm getting there. Took me forever to find the fool thing! My history class is also studying the French rebellion of the day. As far as this movie goes, all I can say is that this statement is a matter of opinion. What I think, may not be what you think, so all I can say is rent it and judge for yourself. I think the one difference in this movie and the older one is composure. Julia falls completely apart after Ford reveals his plan. Audrey Hepburn merely strides out of the office, dignity still completely in tact. I do like the ending of this one better though. Ford is handsome, witty, and charming, plus he offers an apology, which never happened in the old one. As far as this movie goes, all I can say is that this statement is a matter of opinion. What I think, may not be what you think, so all I can say is rent it and judge for yourself. I enjoyed it, but you might not.

Absolutely amazing! Not exactly what I expected, but still good! Very good. The best one I've seen anyway! I'd just like to say to all the people sarcastically blasting the new version that true the movie was awful and I hated it, but could we please cut down on the sarcasm? Thanks alot! If anyone wants to chats with a Les Mis fanatic, write me ok? Toodles all!
