Lockwood & Co.
(2023)

not as good as I expected it to be
This show is just "ok" i would'nt really recomend it, I will probably watch the last 2 episodes I have left, but the story is just lame sometimes, and I dont think lockwood really has the onscreen presence needed for his character. Twice lucy fell while running, and twice it looked silly and fake, surely they could of done better than that?! And twice the little boy in ep5 talked to lockwood and lucy and got electrocuted by the woman.... Lucy saw it happen to lockwood , yet fell for the exact same thing of been distracted by the kid and been electrocuted, the stories a bit lame, it could of been better . On the positive I was glad to see Louise Brealey and Ivanno Jeremiah in the show though, and the special effects are good in places.

Sugar
(2024)

its ok, bit odd in places, bit arty in places
Its ok, i like to watch it, but the episodes are too short, i always want them to be longer, which means i must like it ! Well it has some good scenes, but i dislike some of the characters, i suppose Melanie is growing on me, but David Siegel? Aka davy, Such an annoying character, i cant believe they made the first 5 mins of episode 6 all about him, i don't care., he is SO boring....please stop that.

Aside from that sugar is cool, and calculated though falls apart sometimes . I'd class it as a bit of a dark detective show, some violence. Some mystery, its worth a watch I just wish they'd made the episodes longer.

Dead Boy Detectives
(2024)

its ok ,if theres nothing else to watch!
Its ok , quirky i suppose, but hmm just so many ideas from other shows, such as harry potter or fringe, and the lead actors, aren't standing out much , it has some good moments but its definitely a teen show. Someone else said its not funny, but i disagree it does have its humorous moments in my opinion, i just think its a bit cheap at times and repetitive, but it has its moments and I honestly I had fun watching some of it.

Crystal and the witch are the best characters, I suppose it reminds me of lost girl, but with more special effects, crystals cute, and that helps lol. It turns out she used to be on hollyoaks, I had no idea...

Monkey Man
(2024)

I believe Dev Patel is the MONKEY MAN
Somehow i was rooting for this film, it was great, which is what I expected. The action scenes worked really well, though the story took a slightly different direction to what I expected. I really believed Dev Patel is the monkey man. Somehow his passion for this film really comes through, a great movie. I saw him interviewed about it, and I really hope he makes a follow up sometime. My favourite film so far this year, if you like really good and realistic fight scenes then this is for you, dev needed to complete his quest in this film, I'm not even Indian and I love this film ! Keep up the good work Dev !

Shôgun
(2024)

I think japanese historians are reviewing this show
I think japanese historians are reviewing this show, its good in places, like an epic film I suppose, but in other places there is just way too much talking between mundane characters, i had to skip it, it was just so BORING. It honestly seems like a history show sometimes, maybe it will pick up and get better, the trailer is impressive, but getting through some of the first 2 episodes is.....painful in places, why do I have to write so much, some times i see reviews that are 100 characters long, how is that happening? I wish this was like that, oh Anna Sawai looks beautiful in the show, better than in godzilla. Which hmm was also mostly boring !

The Darling Buds of May
(1991)

wonderful series, but series 3 is missing something
I do love this show I've watched it a few times, the first series is so charming with Charlie and Mariette, finding love and charlie gets a wonderful family and has a lot of fun, it works so well. If you hav'n t seen it before you are in for a treat.

I'm a bit sad that the actors are mostly old now, I did actually see Philip franks on a london tube one time many years ago, not something I'd forget ! I find myself thinking about how far Catherine Zeta Jones went after this show, with many films under her belt and marrying Michael Douglas.

But the last series always feels a bit empty, which is a shame.

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire
(2023)

pretty good, high budget scifi
I dont quite understand the hate for this show, yes its a bit random and a bit fast paced, but the overall story is fine and the special effects are great. People are saying the story is bad, well what about 'the 100' and 'hunters' with al pacino, those shows are incredibly bad, and make little sense to someone with common sense, but they both get a 7/10 but this gets a 5.7.

Anyway i'm looking forward to the second installment, it reminded me of firefly and lex, but not as dark. Maybe theres a conspiracy online to hate this show, It feels like it's getting review bombed for some reason, I am looking forward to the R rated version.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
(2023)

i'm only only watching now as I like kate, thats it lol
I'm only only watching now as I like kate, thats it lol . Shes hot. Its pretty boring at the moment, I just watched episode 5, there wasnt a single monster..... and the drama is boring. I was really looking forward to this show too, the trailer made it look good, I told everyone I knew about it, theres a bit too much back and forthing of the timeline. Its more like a spy thriller than anything now, too little monster action , which is always a big gimmick in the movies of godzilla and his monster friends. I saw the last few movies earlier this year and while a bit dull at times were a lot better than this series. I'm not sure how they made it so slow.

Leave the World Behind
(2023)

boring, and trying to be an M. Night Shyamalan film
Boring, and trying to be an M. Night Shyamalan film, but it just could'nt pull it off, some of it was just plain weird . The only thing I liked was Mahershala Ali's performance , thats it, but his daughter "Myha'la" was one the worst characters i've seen in any film ever, so negative and self centred, AWFUL person, critisizing those around her but only thinking of her own family.

Kevin bacon seemed a bit out of place, but still not as awful a character as Myha'la. I found the film very slow, but good actors. I guess i'm just a bit unsure why they made it, it was just way too similar to "Knock at the Cabin" which again was boring somewhat with a low budger imo. They both could of been better, it says i need to write 600 characters. Which is weird as i see some reviews with 100 characters.i dont think thats very fair.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
(2023)

its ok, the end was made well
Ok , so i'm an indy fan, but I was unsure about this film, it was good overall, I just didnt think Phoebe Waller-Bridge was a good fit for it though.

If i hadnt seen her in her previous sarcastic roles like fleabag I would of been fine with it, but she just didnt suit the role properly for me, the whole time i was thinking, "where do i know her from " i honestly thought she played "miranda" in the bbc show, which would of been about the same kind of weird choice to put her in this film ! , but finally I looked her up and shes in "fleabag" then i had an "a hah" moment, pretty weird choice, some of her lines were a bit odd to me also.....

BUT aside from that it was quite good, I liked the start with the cgi indy and seeing sallah, which really was nostalgic ! And the end was well done, with karen allen, sigh , that was good...... so overall i'm glad they made it ...but should of gone with a different side kick roll.

Forever
(2014)

A good show, good characters
This is a good show, I've always liked Ioan Gruffudd and I'd say its his best role, I quite liked "Harrow" but this is better. I also think his son played by Judd Hirsch is a good character, the two have a pretty good on screen chemistry with some sentimental moments.

I do think the show gets better as it goes along, especially toward the end, its a real shame they didnt have a season 2 .

I suppose Forever had a few weak points, one episode where Martinez had to fight a bad guy, the action was just poorly made, but most episodes are good, I especially liked Henry and Abes looking into their past storyline.

If you like the bbc's sherlock or elementary with Lucy Liu , I think you'll like this too.

Secret Invasion
(2023)

its ok, captain marvel continuation
Its alright, I just watched episode 1, it does follow on from captain marvel, if anyone remembers it.......laugh out loud....but on a lower budget .

It also makes me think of " agents of shield " , which when it started was somewhat boring, I'd say the same for this .... Samuel L jackson has a swag walk.. so thumbs up for that.

The alien guy with the new zealand accent though.....I'm still trying to accept it ... Ben Mendelsohn thats his name... I just checked the episode guide, only six episodes? Well thats short. But its par for the course I suppose these days. It says I need to keep writing more.....

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Ad Astra Per Aspera
(2023)
Episode 2, Season 2

courtroom drama? its meant to be scifi
It was half good, I enjoyed the first half, but it dragged , and I honestly dont believe ANY of the positive high level reviews on here are real. Its meant to be scifi, whats great about some long argument dragging on and on, it was getting a bit star trek discovery in the second half, please dont do that, the spotlight on Nyota Uhuras talking just dragged on TOO long, she isnt that great an actor to fill most of an episode with her waffling on and on. I'll say again it was meant to be scifi, not a courtroom drama. I wasnt tuning in to watch law and order. I dont know why theyve paid for so many fake reviews on this episode , its a filler.

From: Ball of Magic Fire
(2023)
Episode 9, Season 2

it was good......going downhill quickly
I loved this show , I told everyone about it, but this episode really was the worst, the scenes with Sara and the deputy sheriff, urg so cringe , she killed his DAD! He isnt going to be sympathetic, I actually fast forward some of it as another reviewer said, as it was just senseless and irrational.

It was such a good show, I dont really understand why they couldnt further the story better , when they killed one of the vampires that was great but now they are being attacked in their sleep via their dreams ? Terrible desperate idea ! Its like its written by a 14 year old now. What the hell happened there?

I dont see much wrong with the acting just that they are being given stupid lines and story, the scenes with randall went truly crazy, they tie him up as he tried to torture donna, then a few hours later they are going to give him a gun to kill the vampires?! He could of just turned on them again!. It was truly bad. This was such a rushed and thoughtless episode. Oh ps............victors great...Id never seen this actor before.

Fear the Walking Dead: Blue Jay
(2023)
Episode 2, Season 8

i wish this series wasnt a B class walking dead
I wish this was a better series, its the writing, and the action scenes, it would work if they just made some more effort.....end of this episode , when Madison pretended to have breathing problems , then the van stopped, then all of a suddenly shes got both their captors on the ground and she yells to morgam "run" , so he runs . Its lame why didnt he just help her beat up the bad guys? They were on the floor. Then they could both leave or take the van. Urg its full of this kind of thing. The previous episode had madison making 2 guards fall on the floor with a stick and all of a sudden they are knocked out. ITS LAME....these lame action scenes are why its not as good as the walking dead, please make this better.

Superman & Lois: Of Sound Mind
(2023)
Episode 6, Season 3

i like this show, great episodes sometimes
This was a bit of an average episode really, I'm not sure why they were pushing the negative reality of cancer so much, but some of the episode worked..I'm glad lana found out about her ex sleeping with Chrissy as she's a witch to him. Chrissy has grown on me a bit.

I think the best part of the episode was again, when Jordan swooped in and saved the day I also think the replacement for John is working out well, the first episode he was in , I was unsure, but he's working well now, really fits in.

There was another storyline too about Sophie Cushing being ignored a lot, but then when she went missing they just KNEW all of a sudden without checking her room or anywhere else in the house, which was stupid, it was a silly hole in the storyline.

Slumberland
(2022)

great film , I watched it twice
Its a good film, I wanted to watch it again on a bigger screen as I thought it deserved it, it really was much better than way on a 50" screen, it has a good story , good cast, good acting and special effects, it has heart too, the ending really was great........ I dont know if it was released at the cinema? But it should of been really. The characters are very likeable , and i liked the giant birds... and scenary. I didnt actually know it was based on nemo the comic before I saw it, but I realised as I watched it, thats what it was based on, I work as an artist and recognised some of the story from maurice sendaks illustrations..

M3GAN
(2022)

lame
If you think this is well made . Then you need to watch more tv, and start to understand what is well made , what is mediocre and what is bad aka lame....this is lame, it started well, but went downhill fast, how can a cheap ai robot all of a sudden be self aware its nonsense, maybe if it was set in 2699 it would be more believable , but it wasnt and i just could'nt take it seriously.

There just seems to be this belief that robots are close to being "now" no, they arent. It was too much of a jump from a lame not very intelligent robot (what we have right now) to something resembling a t1000's intelligence.

Black Adam
(2022)

visual overload of cgi
I did look forward to this, but the trailer was better than the film, the story just wasnt very good, and theres just too much cgi when all the justice society are fighting, its like watching a scene from a ps5 game, there was no real character development so i wasnt really bothered with what happened to who.

Its just an ok film, I love the rocks films, faster is in my top 10, now thats a great film. The worst character was definatly hawkman.

I think the people saying this is great are either getting paid or are teens who like any superhero nonsense. The superhero genre seems to be going downhill since that last avengers film, which was great, but i think that hit the peak of things, and now its all been downhill. Maybe the new animated spiderman will be good, I hope so.

The Peripheral
(2022)

hmm this isnt bad, but the story is silly
This would of been SO much better if they'd just thought about the timeline for technology more, heptic feedback under the skin in 10 yrs time? Its laughable, that is NOT anywhere near happening, and 70 yrs time for cyborgs? It is just NOT going to be happening, we can't even make a robot walk up and down stairs reliably yet. The story is a slap in the face to intelligent people........but aside from that its quite good lol.

Chloe is always good and the effects are also good, I just wish I could enjoy the show without criticizing the poor storyline choices.....another would be why does Chloes brother and friends have heavy military weapons ? In their back yard? Its just too silly.... but i will try and watch some more, its not badly made its just a silly story ! I'm a scifi fan so i dont want to completely dismiss it.. ep 7 its just too messy, and disjointed and all over the place.

Andor
(2022)

half the actors look like they just came from eastenders...but it got better
I waited for this, the trailer seemed alright, but I'd call it an aquired taste ..... I didnt like the first few episodes half the actors seemed like they are overweight cast off's from eastenders, complete with English accents and it seemed more like blade runner than star wars I would say it got better when things went off world , and the prison planet was good, they made an effort with making it believable.

Its not on the same level as the rogue one film , but i see it as acquired taste, I also like that its 12 episodes long, so many series are too short now.

I cant believe i have to write 600 characters its over the top.

Quantum Leap
(2022)

corny describes it well
This just seems like it was rushed to me, I was a fan of the original, hard to believe its 30 years since it started, this new version, doesnt seem like they made an effort with it. I recognise some of the actors, but it just seems corny as someone else said.

I will prob look at some more episodes, I remember the very first episode of quantum leap the original wasnt so great the actors were'nt gelling, but then things came together in episode 2 .

The storyline didnt really interest me and the idea that it was the 1980's didnt really stand out. It says theres only going to be 4 episodes.. ...

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
(2022)

big budget, and they made an effort, i like it
I liked the first 2 episodes, it takes a lot to impress me these days, i've seen a lot of scifi and fantasy, and it impressed me. Apararently it was the most expensive first season of a tv series ever made £588 million , it does have an epicness to it, with the music and dramatic scenes, I also like the main female elf character, there are a few storylines going on ,and i'm sure some will merge, I suppose the Harfoots is the least dramatic? It does fit with the rest of the story, but just about....i was unsure how lenny henry would be, but i like his character, accent and storyline...I grew up watching his tv shows

I liked what they did with the dwarves, unlike the hobbit films...which put me off them somewhat.

Ok episode 3, seemed a filler episode, now its ep4, I'm not really liking it now, it just seems like a group of scenes put together with no depth to it.how much longer will the main elf stay in that city complaining and rolling her r's.......the rolling R gimic, is annoying and childish,it never would of worked in peter jacksons original films.

Samaritan
(2022)

its ok, i was a bit dissapointed
I looked forward to seeing this, someone saying this was a "solid" film made me write a review, because its not really, why? Well i could see the stunts were stunt doubles half the time...I know stallones old and I was glad to see him, they could of done a better job of that though, I think the good moments were mostly in the trailer really, this one just was'nt memorable to me.... in contrast i'd say a film like "over the top" was a better made stallone film than this, it was just a memorable film to me..... Samaritan was a kids film really. I hav'nt given up on stallone though, I'll be watching his upcoming series/films still.

The Sandman
(2022)

well it was good until episode 7
I enjoyed it until episode 7, where it went into some weird drama with children that became the main focus of the show .which then somehow became related to the sandman..urg, why the heck did they do that? I skippred through it ,the rest was mostly about these kids....... It would of been better not going off at this weird tangent and stuck to the main story, and the relics he needed. I'm not sure i can watch the rest.... I didnt watch the rest. They should of just gone with 8 episodes.

The surpise episode 11,it redeemed itself, those 2 stories were great...
