Ted Lasso
(2020)

Growing like it's characters
In the same way The Last of Us ain't about zombies.

Ted Lasso is not about football.

Season 01 was good. Gave it 07/10. Maybe because I was expecting something else.

After two years away, been watching Season 02 and I'm delighted! This show has something special about it. It's all about the characters growing as a team. Not a team of players. A team of people. There's not a big ambition trying to shock spectators every corner. There's only something that feels true. And a type of comedy that is very natural.

We all can see how sitcoms evolved from laugh tracks on Friends to a more natural Young Sheldon tone. And I love all these shows from the past too. I'm just saying Ted Lasso shouldn't be skipped even if you hate football. Season 02 is up to a 08/10.

And maybe this two point cut from perfect is just my expectations for something that this show is not. In fact it's exactly the opposite of what I was looking for. And it's truly great and genuine because of it! So maybe it's a 10 for not being a 10.

The Devil All the Time
(2020)

Good!
It's an average drama movie packed with great acting, so it ends up being very good to watch.

I was bouncing my grade between 6 and 7 because there is narration. And no expectator deserves that on a movie.

Despite that, it's a well rounded story. In the beginning I wasn't hooked. This one might take a while to really grab someone's attention.

There's a lot happening to this characters. Tom Holland is amazing and Pattinson seems to be getting even better each movie I watch him.

Other technical aspects of the movie, like photography, didn't really caught up my attention. I feel like it's all well done but there are other movies to look at if you actually want to see something that will stand out in these regards.

The Black Phone
(2021)

Lame
I don't know what is all the hype about.

Maybe it's by a Netflix leveled audience.

That "cool" editing, full of "style" and effects, forcing a mistery that's not there. A few jump scares, weak acting, poor script, everything feels shallow and disconnected and my God(!) the paranormal phone was a stupid idea! I'm really triggered to tell everyone how bad this movie is.

It's really not worthy watching.

It's about a really disturbing theme that has not been taken seriously.

The Thin Red Line
(1998)

Terrence Malick is not for me!
This must be the 2nd movie I've tried.

Tried the Tree of Life years ago and couldn't bear!

Started this movie without knowing it was his and couldn't handle 3 hours.

There are great scenes and acting. Great special effects, the movie looks great overall.

But the story and the writing are boring! Sorry.

Not for me.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage
(2021)

Better than the 1st
I had zero expectations. And I'm tired of superhero/antihero movies.

But this was fun.

And also quick!

Don't stretch the runtime if you ain't got nothing to fill!

This was entertaining. No doubt.

I mean, how much do you expect from a Venom movie?!

Invasion
(2021)

Poor
Terrible writing.

Pretty special effects, but almost nothing happens in 10 episodes.

You think it's gonna get better. But it doesn't.

I'm struggling to watch the last episode.

Not engaging at all!

This is being a common denominator on Apple TV+ shows.

Great concepts with bad writing and poor storytelling. Acting is ok most times but screenplay and characters are too bad on their own.

Foundation
(2021)

Great production, bad direction and script
Another top production for Apple TV+ that misses a good story and characters.

Aside from great visuals, especially on the 1st episode, the three I've watched are simply not engaging.

The second episode raised my hopes but the third was a let down.

Servant
(2019)

Really struggling to watch the 2nd season
Wouldn't recommend this anymore.

Second season is just too bad.

Every episode is a huge waste of time.

Nothing makes sense and not in a good way.

I'm averaging 6, because the 1st season is great!

-

Two years later, I'm back and turning it to a 4 stars.

3rd season was better than 2nd but still dragging... This show should've had two seasons tops and it would be great.

Most episodes are a complete waste of time. And repeating "waste of time" is not an understatement.

Sure they can get you uncomfortable. But I'm doubting the history will payoff in the end.

Dickinson
(2019)

Weak
Some good actors. Bad storyline. Ocasional fun and shallow drama moments. Some deep themes are superficially touched. Soundtrack is nice and fits. Lots of time waste scenes. Feels like a brazilian soap opera. It's OK if you just wanna kill your time. But you still would have to love Hailee Steinfield or one of the others to bear. I'm dropping on 2nd season. Gave it too many chances. Nothing happened. Not the show that'll make Apple TV+ relevant. Watch For All Manking, Servant or The Morning Show instead. Those are great. Loved Hailee on Bumblebee though.

The Lighthouse
(2019)

Waste of Time
Yeah! I gotta stop watching this director. This is the 2nd film that comes from nowhere and goes nowhere. But this time it's maybe worse, coz it got nothing to show in between. Tries too hard to be cult. Or maybe this is it. And it's something I just don't like. Photography was ok, black and white and squared aspect ratio added nothing to the story - coz there's no story, sound was good, acting was good and there's nothing else to see. Looooong 2 hours. Midsommar kind of BS.

Dreamkatcher
(2020)

Was it supposed to be this bad?!
Silent Hill (2006) is great! Why is Radha Mitchell on this movie?! Everything was bad... acting, editing, concept... The movie starts with a dictionary definition... WHY?! I watched till the end in hope something would turn up... But boy, there's a hole lot of bad movies better than this one.

Midsommar
(2019)

Not entertaining: yes it's weird, but also pointless
If you're reading the movie briefing: be sure it doesn't develop "quickly". Not that slow pacing is the worst thing ever... it was actually accurate for this movie. Until certain point where it started to get kinda of repetitive and boring. It's not a terrible movie. It's well executed, it's got great photography, few shocking scenes, beautiful colors and good acting - although there's not much to act on... It has really nice elements that doesn't lead anywhere. It's a pointless movie and I would like my 2 and a half hours back! I firmly do not recommend this. And that's why I'm writing here. Don't waste your time... Except, maybe, if you enjoyed "The Witch". "Hereditary" was a great horror movie. This one I wouldn't pay for and recently I'm watching everything with a "look to the bright side perspective".

Mean Girls
(2004)

10/10 Teenage Movie
It's funny and you shouldn't miss. It's mature to know how to enjoy stuff like these. The movie is supposed to be the way it is. And it delivers.

Arrival
(2016)

A great movie, bad story
It's indeed a great movie to watch. Except, some parts of it doesn't make sense. And in the end, the movie is pointless. Great production, good acting, but the story makes no sense at all, it's shallow and gives you the feeling of time waste.

Silent Hill
(1999)

Hands down: The best Horror game of all times!
If you are a real fan of horror... you won't find much stuff on this level.

This game is superb. Although time hasn't acted in favor of it's graphics... and there's something weird about how dialogue is paced... or "spaced"...

Consider playing this as watching an old classic movie. Not the best in technical aspects but, if you consider the time when this was released, there's SO MANY THINGS RIGHT about this game and almost the whole franchise. Totally worth playing, or even watching.

In the end, even the graphics' limitations acted in favour.

Don't miss this game! Close your room, turn of the lights, turn up the volume (maybe use headphones if you don't have a great sound system) and forget your phone and anything else... if you have someone to watch you playing, go ahead, just make sure it's someone who respects ART, cause this is what this game is.

Try to remain SILENT while playing. This is an experience!

Alien: Covenant
(2017)

Don't miss this
I don't understand these people... This movie is great!

There's very intense sequences that scales up perfectly. Ridley is a great director! And this is the 2nd best Alien movie ever!

Can't say much more without spoiling it.

The Nun
(2018)

The Mummy 3
O Connel's return?!

If you're expecting something close to The Conjuring, go away! If you're expecting a comedy/horror/action movie, you're welcome.

This movie is a waste of a good franchise! Shame!

Alien: Isolation
(2014)

Unexpected
This game is a gift for survival horror and Alien fans. It's not perfect. Sometimes gets a little repetitive and you'll get a feeling that the campaign will never end. But after it ends, you'll want to play it again. There's so much right stuff about this game, when games are actually getting worse and mindless... that I can't escape giving this a 10/10. There should be more games like Isolation.

STORY: 9/10 GRAPHICS: 10/10 AUDIO: 10/10 GAMEPLAY: 9/10

9,5 out of 10 would be more accurate.
