Ramayana: The Epic
(2010)

classic retold in a clumsy fashion
movie based on a history of Hindu culture lacks the depth of emotions and any sort of expressions on face. it was dumb and i felt like, it was a bit too bad. even though the thing loses its track, the movie has some key elements to quickly grasp the audience. the perfect cinematography and stunning camera work makes this a definite watch. all the cartoon pictures, had not been so much visually brilliant. the arrow heading for the attacks and swords slashes and some stunts on board with fused slow motions gave the grip. the climax battle seemed clichéd and was not impressive. looks like the animator has decided to bring upon the king Kong climax. climbing the building look alike of empire states and assaulting the baddie is something joyful, but seriously has done the damage. the initial scene, was confusing and till it was aboard, no one realized who is speaking to whom. until later we get to know it. then onwards things are really different and movie takes a turn after intermission. the last 30 minutes was definite watchable though clichéd was better than the first half. the movie seemed like a 2010 movie. the muscular build up and 6-pack like appearances , are quite funny but not good. it is a classic retold. how can they make such silly mistakes. lack of any emotions in characters and bland expressions and just drops of tears and eye blinking are seen here. looks like the animator has taken to rest for a while and was forced to do it. may be he did not get enough pay. the scenes looked clichéd and movie was way too small. just about 90 min. a classic retold well, not retold , just shown with some graphics and camera movement with some crisp art work and lackluster dialogs is this. take a stroll in the park and think to have a look at it. the previous movie was way better.

Teen Maar
(2011)

breezy movie that defines the meaning of true love
TEENMAAR review Opening statement: breezy love stories that declares generational differences The case: the love stories of Micheal and arjun. The fate: when two characters are involved, there must be ample scope for editing and narration

Evidence: The movie being similar to many old movies, has same old formula of love stories never stay forever. But in this case, it is clear and teenmaar has two love stories. On one side Micheal who has lot of girl friends and starts loving meera , but after 1 year they split up. Micheal listens to the story of arjun and how he had his chance for love. The two generations are different and trends are different , but yet love stays the same. Micheal realizes his mistakes and goes for meera. What happened to meera? Is she waiting for Micheal or settled herself is the story!! Coming to the point, the movie story is good. But the narration is perfect. Screenplay is good connecting both stories at a time. The movie has many evidences , to make it a very good film. Firstly is the screenplay, one can get perfect screenplay here. No where you find instances where the movie goes on the slow side. Once such cases occur, director immediately shifts the story towards next character. The last 30 minutes of the movie is real asset. Nice emotional filled dialogs , in the marriage scene will give the grip to the movie. Secondly is the music and the best 3 songs are perfectly picturized. Every song has a character and life in it. Thirdly , is the acting skills of pawan kalyan especially as arjun palwai. Trisha as meera , especially in second half last 20 minutes. She definitely showed her skills. Fourthly is the camera work especially the locales of Varanasi.

Judgement revealed: the movie stands different among others. Nice entertainer with hints of emotional content and pleasing climax.

Comments: some illogical stunts in the climax and over acting of Micheal in the first half. Average direction to some extent in first half.

Final statement: teenmaar is a generational love story that will appeal the youth and current audience. The old may not be satisfied with the content and children are too innocent to understand this concept.

Verdict: not guilty

Gaganam
(2011)

taut thriller
title: gaganam

opening statement: definite innovative paced taut thriller that would keep the viewers edge of seats.

the case: hijack drama

the fate: predictable movie since many of such movies have been seen.

the charge: operation gaganam

evidence: there are definite proofs to show that this movie is different. the various evidences include the near 100% screenplay with perfect narration. secondly the direction of the movie. right from the title flying with, in the sky showing the map of India, with the introduction to various characters is perfect and the viewers are caught well with it, thirdly is the cinematography and the camera work done inside a hijacked plane. good movement of the camera along with subtitles at required stages gives a grip. fourthly is the change in screenplay from serious mood to a soothing humorous mood. some interjections of comedy for about 5 minutes would relieve the viewers from a serious mood. and finally the fifth and last is the cast performances. their performance is picture perfect and every character in the movie has got an important role.

facts regarding the charge: we see that the main hero nagarjuna as NSG commando utters the word. from then onwards the movie goes at a rapid pace. the climax almost builds well. the statement is really good and thus the viewers stick to the seats till the credits fall.

closing statement: a definite innovative thriller. the predictable script becomes unpredictable at the rapid pace the movie moves. the viewers are left stunned at the end as the movie concludes. this one is a sure shot movie that has hit the bulls eye

verdict: very good

Mirapakai
(2011)

partly entertaining and partly boring.
Film power Script: the movie has a straight forward story of a cop who has been sent on a mission to Hyderabad. The mission looks important here and it may be the driving factor in the movie. What is the mission and how does it get accomplished is the story This department gets a score of 6/10 since many of such movies are seen on board. There is some novelty though , but no freshness in the story Screenplay: with a cop story , screenplay gets the importance. The first half introduces the characters and some romantic threading and few stunts with a good twist at the interval, makes the second half to be exciting. But again the movie went on the slow side until the last 20 minutes or so. Songs were mismatched and ruined the basic screenplay. The climax was ineffective and does not impress me. Really second half should have been better executed. Although certain thrilling and twists reveal at the end but It is too late because the serious viewers must have been got exhausted without the story getting involved and the cop role is not effective as vikramarkudu. 10/20 Direction: the lead casts mainly Ravi teja has performed well. The heroines are wasted. They are just for glamor and some romantic threading. Their acting is OK but not the best. Villain does not make a mark. Other supportive casts , are just OK as they have nothing to do in the main story. 13/20 Casting: Ravi teja is energetic in his role. I expected a real cop show by him. But I missed it. Richa and deeksha are there for glamor and some romantic threading. Villain parkish raj is OK in his limited role. Rest characters like nag Bab as head of the cops is OK with his limited role. 13/20 Film power = 42/70

Entertaining power

Music: only 2 songs are catchy and one background song is good. Total music is above average. You can take 3 numbers home. 3/5 Background score: it involves mostly with , the same background song.( Everybody listen now!!! ). Some sections we see the background score changing but repetitive at most cases. 2.5/5 Cinematography: visuals are bright enough and looks good. Cinematography is catchy in 2 songs and picks well in the action scenes and few scenes with ample camera work. 8/10 Editing: we needed a better editing in second half. At least 20 minutes of the movie might have been trimmed out. 2 songs are wrongly placed. Rest else seemed OK. 3/5 Action episodes: I find nearly four scenes with good stunts and the first half stunts were really good. The big gun and armed gun fight was good and climax fight was disappointing. Cgi used rarely in few fights and a song has been effective, 4/5 Entertaining power = 21/30 (42+21=63) Total score of the movie is a score of 6.3/10 Comments: with a undercover cop story we do not get into the proceedings right until interval. After interval the story takes some twists and turns and finally ends as a predictable one. Director might have focused only on entertainment department. He did not concentrate much on the story. Ravi teja was energetic throughout the movie. He is the only reason that the movie can be watched. Some dialogs are catchy and the background song is good at right intervals. Mirapakaya is not the best one. But it does entertain a lot. For those who need a real time serious movie avoid this and for just who wants some relief and time pass, this is your pick. Watch and enjoy the performance of Ravi teja. Rating: it gets a score of 3/5

Khaleja
(2010)

unexpected , cumbersome movie with some comedy
opening statement 3 years after the prince of tollywood has entered the silver screen with the magic combination of manisharma and trivikram srinivas.

khaleja is the title and despite controversies it stands apart as a wholesome entertainer with critical flaws.

the case a happy go taxi driver raj alias seethe Ram raj ( mahesh Bab ) turns into a Samaritan for a village with some unrevealing mysteries all around in the village. discovering the depth of the mystery and putting an end to the mystery is the case.

the fate having a simple story the movie of a taxi driver"s role is on the lighter side with all the troubles and achievements he gets. but the Samaritan part is on the serious side and requires lot of careful attention. even though the movie focuses the lighter side on maximum the Samaritan part is the just the driving factor for the movie goers. so the Samaritan role is what the audience will expect ..

evidence ace cinema dialog writer turned director has brought in a case to be solved by the protagonist. but the protagonist is a care free and light guy who does"NT care much. trivikram has etched the role of the protagonist in a casual way as he is a taxi driver. but suddenly one day protagonist realizes the fate of village without him and decides to help them and get a key to the mystery. the mystery is no deep as it is just a mix of all different stories put in one box of 150 minutes. mahesh has seamlessly performed and delivered dialogs to his best. heroine gives lot of trouble for the protagonist. her role is not etched well. prakash raj as the antagonist has been good and under utilized. shafi and rao ramesh are key persons for the village backdrop. they performed well. rest all came in and went. manisharma "s magic in music is not evident for all the numbers except 2 songs. anyhow the score in the crucial sequences were worth noting. editing is the fault in the movie. cinematography is good and worth mentioning. action sequences choreographed by ram and Heinz are to be mentioned specially with appreciation. entertainment value and humor has developed and this led to the back track of the fate to the movie.

what can be better editing is the major fault in the movie. the movie went very slow in the 2nd half and by the time the real story picked up audience has dropped their interest towards the screen and busy scratching their heads. etching the story of the movie in the last 20 minutes is good but already the unnecessary songs in the 2nd half middle and some unrelated scenes to the plot has developed the marginal chance for the audience to put interest towards the end. climax is the crux to the plot and it seemed like the movie ended abruptly with lot of questions left to be answered. with a godly message at the end the credits fall which makes the audience to leave the hall. in the end it is no special movie.

closing statement movie"s fate depends upon the fans and the likings of the audience. its a wholesome entertainer that can be watched once.

Jalsa
(2008)

routine with hint of surprise .. but well dosed
jalsa is a perfectly dosed entertainer. it has perfect humor action scenes romance comedy and also mind blowing songs.

casting: power star gave a hilarious performance. he also showed the serious roles stunningly excellent. ileana was good. should have got more of her role. mukesh rishi is perfect as villain. rest all shared the screen space.

screenplay/direction: trivikram came up with a better direction but not up to the mark like athadu. he drove the movie smoothly without doubts in viewers.

songs/background music: the songs are the plus point and background score in serious scenes are giving a thunderous adrenaline punch.

story: routine with a hint of surprise in interval. post interval had a good momentum and suddenly movie collapsed and came down again with the first half. again comedy and action everything routine. climax was better and gave a different approach. director connects the first scene and climax scene at the end of the movie..

catchy dialogs: interval dialog

post interval fight dialog

climax dialog catchy tunes: my heart is beating and jalsa title song..

final analysis : the movie has a dull start and picks up momentum in interval. the second half begins well and runs well for 15 minutes. again the movie loses momentum and rare surprises here and there along with comedy makes it to a confirmed head-head climax. pre climax scenes are good and gives a surprise. overall routine well dosed entertainer.
