If you're looking for real-life stories without the Hollywood glam and no sugarcoating of sexual themes, this one's for you.
The film focuses on the rawness of Anora's life, a character I wasn't sure I liked at first, and the drama that unfolds around her. It dives into the world of strip clubs, shedding light on both the spectacle and the secrets they don't want exposed.
The cast really brought their characters to life, making the story feel authentic and engaging. The chemistry between the actors was strong, and I found myself especially drawn to two of them.
While it's not a full-on comedy, there are definitely moments that made me laugh.
The ending left me with a sense of melancholy - it felt real, raw, and unpolished.
Anora's win for Best Actress was well-deserved. She nailed the role, even down to the accent.
All in all, this film doesn't rely on glitz or glam. It felt like an honest portrayal of Anora in her world, mixed with some drama. There's a fair amount of bum and boob, but that's to be expected in this setting. I enjoyed it!
